Welcome back =)

I have not officially found a new coder and I'm currently testing and looking and catching up on things for the latest beta (4.6d) to see if I can do it myself (code). Things are not looking that promising though, since Sûl coded this game in such a professional and extremely high level that I doubt I can go on. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. But, there are some coders that I have spoken to, and I'll keep my hopes up for finding one.

If I can't I will try to only do the very few things I still can in terms of coding such a s add units and fix balance and finally add the 7th faction...

Ding...idea.

I think it'd be really cool if arrow towers extended the wall radius. That way, on larger maps you could build outposts, with the tower in the middle and walls around it. I actually tried to code this a while back, but failed massively. -_-

Heya Nazgul... i mabe got some advice, i dunno its anygood but here what i think should be added:

Goblins:

they need more heroes... id say adding the balrog from the felowship of the ring, also maybe adding some spiders from the spider riders unit, but with their own abilities.. And like u added walls for mordor, id say you should add walls to the goblins, it would help the seige portion of gameplay
Mordor:
i really cant think of anything to add there.. exept for a troll hero like in the angmar faction in ROTW
Men:
Yoi should add two new soldiers classses, the ecthilioin and osgiliath battalions, mainly, like hardened veterans of the war.... heroes, erm.. you can add the stewards and kings of the third age, id say a battering ram for seige, and also Ecthilion and osgiliath knights.. a for the ROHAN MINIFACTION. that should add many like theodred, galming, grimbold, hama.. i think those four.. also add an infantry unit besides the peasant, like snowbourn battliions..
OK THE EVLES (my fav. faction).. id say the heroes are tough..since evles live for a very long time.. id say add the ring bearers, yuov already got galadrial and elrond, is say add CIRDAN THE SHIPWRIGHT, he carried one of the three rings before giving it to gandalf... I would also say add mithlond horse batallions, and milthond sword fighters. also you should add stuff to its walls, like towers or ent rock throwers, like on the fortress but smaller versions to fit the walls.
Isengard:they are a pretty tuff and stong alone in the vanilla version... id say the crows as a hero also.. they can spy and be able to attack certain units. thats it so far... i hoped that you be wililng to add first and secound aged units but i can see from the previous forums that thats out of the question..
ALSO FOR THE FORTRESSES, YOU SHOULD ADD A SPECIAL ATTACK POWERS LIKE THE RING HEROES ABILITES BUT WITHOUT THE TIMER..

Men: Id say add a special power from the BFME ARCADE EDITION mod.. they changed gandalfs word of power to a giant pheonix attack, which is pretty kewls.
Golbins: sometihng i call golbins flames, wich are like movable flames throughout the battlefield,
isengard: the ability to bring down mountin rocks and snow, like how saruman did in the fellowship ovie
MOrdor: an ability id call the wrath of the spire, where its like a beam of like coming from the one eye that scortches its enemies if it comes near the fortress

Since theese are fortress pwoers id say they should only be around the fortress itself, but a compltlye finished idea but a good start and a lot to do . lolz just some seggustions id throu out there

First, you need to post correctly! This was in Elven faction topic???


Goblins:

- Moria will get more heroes...
- Balrog won't be a hero!
- Spiders Riders are now CReep units ONLY! Cause I hate them...
- Moria have walls... well fences.



Mordor:
i really cant think of anything to add there.. exept for a troll hero like in the angmar faction in ROTW
- You need to read the ToDo list... It's already planned. Mollock will be added.

- I won't ad more to this faction that what's already planned. Men have enough heroes. See the Faction Roster topic for more info...

- We will work on the walls yes, but not much more than that. I see no real need for more heroes. We've covered all we see in the movies... and Elven faction have a large number of heroes already. Same with units, I'm content with the number of units we have. Adding units that are simply copies of others just to cover most of the books, aren't that much fun. ANd it's booring work to come up with specific powers and abilities... If you want a large amount of units and heroes I recommend RJ mod.

- That's correct. We might cross the line somewhere in terms of a hero or two, but not much more than that.

- I'm not a big fan of spectacular FX. This mod aims towards "realism" ^_^

- Sure, throw ideas as much as you like, but don't count on me using them :p

srry bout the posting and yeah it was in the elven faction.... again im knew to the site, and to bfme2, and the see mod, which is great.. unfortunatly i dont have to time to read upon the mod cause im pretty busy with school and my last year and starting college camp tours and blah blah.. sam goes for registering unfortunatly, but i plan to do both when i get the chance. but yeah go ahead and critizise lolz..

Allright, fair enough... Just try to understand that we have hundereds of SEE Players posting off and on and we have to try and keep some kind of structure :xcahik_: I'm rather busy too you know... juggling two jobs and this mod along with ordinary every day stuff =p

I noticed that foot units are useless in the later game...

The enemy does hardly build any foot soldiers,your towers can kill them ,so what to do with your soldiers?You cant attack,becaause they will be destroyed,you cant even attack with siege and units becaus youre own siege will destroy them. ;)


You see my point?

You could make the Ai build more soldiers and maybe add a little damage to buildings for soldiers(i know ,you dont want to,and i pretty much like it the way it is,but just a little more damage would be good :facepalm: )

What you could also do is remove the ff from siege,so youll be able to attack with both siege and units.
Apart from that catapults on the wall destry ur own fortress^^
One reason more to remove ff ;)

Maybe that's a good point. I love playing with foot soldiers, but they get killed fairly easy. I think foot soldiers should form the base of every army, and monsters should be more rare in a way.

I know, and I agree about the foot soldiers. But EA made the game depend mostly on Heroes and their powers. Secondly monsters like Trolls and Dragons and Eagles and so on. Foot soldiers are not of much use, which is a shame. I don't want them slashing structures, but I am still thinking of a better way to make use of them and make them more nescessary

Hey, foot soldiers give the enemy forces something to shoot at BESIDES your monsters, ehh? If only there was a way to make the AI distinguish between soldier and monster, so it would know which was which and the ratio to produce of each...unless it already does that. =D

Yeah those options are there, but it's still hard to make the AI act exactly like you want =/
