True. BfMe2-AI = Fucking impregnable simplification! Look at my blue sidebard text, reposted here for your convenience:
'T3A Team Chamber Member, (AI-)Coder, and btw. 'BfMe2-AI delendam esse!''
BfMe1 had that fine control. I still have that project in front of me, and i am still uncertain to what extend i'd be able to supress the new BfMe2-AI, so i can replace it with the old scripted AI.

Well, assuming that you'd still be around and code for SEE, I'd give my left arm for that, and that alone :good:
I can code 75-80% of what's needed in SEE, except advanced AI. Basic AI - fine, but that ^ no way =/

The door is always open for you Sûl ;p

Thinking about the bodyguard idea for the Goblins, I came up with this: why not give every (infantry) hero the ability to join a battalion to temporary replace the BC? This has two advantages: the battalion gets a leadership boost, and it will look much nicer when you've got some ranks/divisions of infantry lead by your heroes in front. Since we can't add the 'stay in formation while marching' feature from ROTWK this is would be quite a nice alternative. If you can pull it of coding-wise that is :thumbsupdrool:.

Probably not. I'm not even half as good as a coder as most ppl seem to think I am :p
WHen I "code", I mostly cut n paste really. I can't "create" stuff, like Sûl can... That's why SEE will never reach the former level of development again, as long as noone can replace Sul. Sad but true...

I noticed that there isn't any Ring heroes cept Galadriel and Sauron. While this is fine for the bad factions, a corrupted galadriel seems to be not characterisitic of the movies- so i have "ideas" for ring heroes in each faction. They should have nice abilities- hopefully custom if ur that good at coding

Dwarves- Durin the Deathless(Maybe skin of Dain???)
Men of the West- Arveleg or Arvedui? Some Arnor guy...Or maybe even Elendil
Elves: Celembrimdor- Crafter of the 3 elven rings or Cirdan the shipwright?(Original weilder of Ring of Fire)
Goblins: Hmm was thinking of a Balrog or Ancalagon the Black( Huge black dragon) or Glaurung(First of the Dragons)Heck maybe smaug
Mordor: Sauron with added abilties like maybe "Grond Hammer of Morgoth"
Isengard:? ? ? not sure what

Hey guys, i think the mod is the best one you can find at the moment
but
it would be really great when we ( the customers of the mod ) can use all the great, perfecly created, new Units of the Mod in the worldbuilder for example to create the battle of helms deep or minastirith

isn't that just possbible for some great modders like you?

it would be fantastic :p

Off topic @ Guest: You have to ask the Modeler that made the model you want to use.

This is kind of a personal opinion but I think that there is too much Fx in the game and I think that all the different colored mists takes away from the game. For instance the purple fear Fx i think can be disposed of considering the fear animation of people cowering down on their knees is enough to tell you that they're in a state of fear. Things like Forged blades and Leadership i think are fine because the Fx is the only way to know that those bonuses apply but all the un-necissisary Fx I think should be disposed of if possible.

Also, is there anyway to have two different sized walls so that you can have lower outer walls and higher inner walls around the fortress. I dont mean anything special though, just the normal walls scaled up.

Yeah, that should be possible. You would just have to make a copy of the walls with a scaled up model and add the new button to the command set. I don't think it really fits with the temp base theory, though.

Hey i saw that Turin_Turumbar has a mod called Battle for Numenor where he has incorperated a 'Living Middle Earth' where citizens wander around your base - would this pose any copyright problems if you were to take a cue from him - it looks pretty cool.
(don't know whether this has been mentioned yet)

We don't see enough (or should I say, any) citizens in any of the games. It would be pretty cool if they could be added or modded on...

The thing is, the bases (other than on fortress maps) and meant to be temporary bases, not full cities. This is the reason they are using the small walls, too. It would be a cool idea on a few maps, like Minis Tirith.

There should be lots of citizens in Minas Tirith, especially around the buildings on the first level. The second level should have a couple of them, but not too many. And I think that the Rohan and Gondor castles should have 5 citizens apiece (Like, the soldiers' wives... :p)

Right... will the peasants repair the buildings automatically as NPCs?

Could it be possible to add certain animations and features from BFME 1 as shown in this pre-release series of videos:
http://it.youtube.co...feature=related (Volume 1)

I know that some of the features shown in the video weren't present in th actual game, but maybe, the animations/behavious files are still there for us to use?

There are some really cool things, like the Balrog burning the man in his hand, The Ents picking rocks out of buildings and throwing them. And also the units reacting to certain objects. For example if a cave troll coves near them, the infantry would slowly back away and some would run in fear. If an ent picked up a rock, the nearby enemy units would run automatically away. Then, there's the possibility of when fellbeasts or eagles attack buildings debris from the buildings can crush units below improving realism even further (Most of the features I've mentioned are in the first video)

Finally, in the videos, there was the possiblility to group different units in different formations (See http://it.youtube.co...feature=related (Volume 3) 3:22)

What do you guys think? Is this possible?
Ignited into the world in a flash of lightning, it gleams faintly in the heart of its mother, wood. It begins as an ember, a mere wisp of heat and colour. Its chance of survival at this critical moment is minute, yet it fights on, against the unforgiving cold, against the depths of night and against its mortal enemy: rain.
