Indeed, that Thorin looks kick ass! :p Great to have another Dwarven hero =) I think I'll add 1 more though... I wanted Balin, but ppl got upset since he's clearly dead at the time (the tomb in Moria), so I guess Dwalin then :D

Next update:
Since Ed (of the 3rd Kind) joined us to my GREAT joy (awesome guy to work with), I finally got the small edits I wanted for Lauri's awesome Easterling models. I invisioned and wanted the following changes:
- New weapon, using CaH
- New high res shield with symmentrical shape

After a quick modeling session from Ed tonight, and a little edit of the shield texture by me, we now have THIS statement of perfection (in my eyes) :p

Next up, he'll edit the swordsmen and then the Kataphraks the same way :D

Hehe yeah, that was before I got back into coding and before new talents started to join us... :p
We still have the big problems of:
- The WB setup of EvilMen (but Elrond99 is helping now)
and
- The Saved Games crash
though...

Well does it look like hes going to be able to fix it? Even if not I believe there is plenty of new content for the existing factions to consider moving forward with a public release without evil men. Its been so long since any team member has played 4.5, I think its easy to forget how different the private beta is from 4.5.

It seems like this is a walk in the park for Elrond99, so I think he'll fix it for us pretty soon =)
Releasing B4.7 without the fortress would be like going to a ball in an Armani suit... without a tie :p

I don't like the helmet that Thorin has, looks vicious and orc-ish.

The helmet is the same as the Khazad guard has, but with horns.

Yes, but in the movie spiky bits such horns are related to evil. Couldn't he have same helm as the Khazad guard but golden? Very distinctive shoes, by the way.

Easterlings are truly amazing!!! ;)

I was obviously refering to spiky in armours, including helmets.

Nazgul, Thorin's helmet looks good; maybe change the horns to a more stone-like feature? But it is kinda cool like it is, tho ;)

I disagree. Spike shapes (long, round, thin and sharp as horns or fangs), as in the Witch King's helm, or in the Moria goblin one give an evil look. I'm not speaking about a lottle pointy top such the one in the Gondorian helmet.

Just think about the organic forms they use for Elves to give a dinamic and elegant feeling, the geometrical ones for Dwarves to give a sence of endurance and the the "spiky ones" for evil guys to make them look agressive.

If the horns were shorter, wider and more curved they would look less "evil" despite the pointy top, like in this Dwarf miniature:

I don't know, I've always kind of associated Dwarves with Vikings (and yes, I know that Vikings never really had horns on their helmets or anything, I'm just talking about what most people associate with Vikings). I think some horns on a dwarf would be in fine taste. And btw, av8r, are you refering to Gandalf's hat as "spiky"? Just because he never used fabric softner on it doesn't make him a "spiky" person.
Do not come between a Zach and his........Zach?
