If anything, the river should be represented as a fortress upgrade...

Soo Yoda? We await your response. Is it possible you paste my relevant posts on the previous page to the private forum?
Thanks a lot
@ Elfhelm: Nah you kinda misunderstood me. I suggested that at first, but then I suggested, with my poor illustration using Paint, that there should be a wider moat around the fortress. That will be the ONLY water. Now there would be a hill mound in the center. This, in turn will have another yet steeper hill mound on top of that which will have a cave entrance. This hill mound will be entangled with vines, branches, twigs etc. The cave entrance will have a bridge reaching out onto the mainland. Lastly, all the expansions will be on piers sticking out of the higher hill mound.

Hmmmmm, you don't only map, you help with bugs! Anywayzzzzz, yeah Rob checks topics, he might not post in it though.
Hmmm, just looked at that paint picture. Why don't you use some tools besides paint bucket and paint brush. You could have used circles! Anywayz, you can just make a moat upgrade, you can make the water a different color to make it look different but it's still the same upgrade, soooo w/e.

The river would be an early upgrade for the fortress, among other items.
Edit: Time for more Elven Screens. First off I'll start with the banner carrier models. Right now all units use the generic elven banner, though the plan is to have at least 3 different banners. If you have concepts/banners you'd like to see in the mod, this is an excellent area to apply for a beta tester. The Mirkwood banner carriers have both a new animated torch model or the normal sword or long knife. I'm debating on how to handle the torch if it's the non-forged blade or easter egg, etc.
Other banner carriers that have been done - Galadhrim, Silvan, & Noldor Warriors as well as Marchwardens & Rohan LA unit.
Next up, Marchwardens. Credit - Skin by Eldarion, bow/quiver/sword skin by Rob38, faces/randomization and model by robnkarla. There are 4 different textures, and 2 random parts (hood, and lower cloak). I'm working on a Haldir with the same look for his low armor/pre-upgrade version.
Last item, I thought I'd show some close-ups of the upgraded arrows, Lothlorien, Rivendell, & Mirkwood respectively:
I hope you enjoy. Thought I'd post a bunch of screens after a few pages since the last, though not that long ago.

With regards to the Mirkwood Fortress, tbh I really can't recall anywhere being mentioned that Thranduil's base/castle/fortress is like halls (like Théoden's??) but cabin-like. Or if by halls, you mean, the way it is described in The Hobbit, as in the halls being underground and not evident from the outside, I can understand. Maybe I'm just not getting it, because I personally can't remember where in the book it is described in that manner . I know Beorn's residence, could be described as 'a hall', but I can't see that with the Mirkwood Fortress.
So if anyone has any quote from The Hobbit (or even The Silmarillion when it speaks of the Third Age), then that'd be much appreciated! Thanks again.

"From this seal shall arise the doom of men,"
"who, in their arrogance, sought to wield our fire as their own."
"Blindly they build their kingdoms upon stolen knowledge and conceit."
"Now they shall be consumed by the very flame they sought to control."
"Let the echoes of doom resound across this wretched world, that all who live may hear them and despair."
"Tremble, mortals, and despair! Doom has come to this world!"
