Well, Uruk King, we're both on the same level.
I would really love too see cah becoming like D&D (Which is the same as the never winter night 2 system if I'm correct... we don't have D&D here in Europe)
Cah as of now, is nice... but not great, if you catch my drift, I personally expected more from it when I bought the game (It was to my satisfaction back then, but around now, I think it needs more tweaking)

I really do hope, the modders look into the external program thing, because I think when expanded, cah can become a very interesting game play feature and will give the game more replay value.

Agree with EMP's ideas. This way CAHs would be realy extended without loosing modding-space. Hope it's possible.

When we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day! An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of Men comes crashing down. But it is not this day! Better yet, the way I see it, you could expand CAH and gain modding space.
As I said before, CAH is divided into 7 classes which are divided into 17 subclasses, all with their own codec, which all take up space (not much, but you get the picture)
Then you have you're skill trees which also take up space.
Take all you have and axe some things here and their, make it all into one class.
Give the player the ability to choose a race (in the armor and equipment menu) and all will go as it is, but with more options (as all characters can use every item available) on one side, and more modding space on the other.
Needles to say that all heroes will be unisex.

I'm not sure that it's worth it to take the time to attempt this. If EA had made it like this before, CaH would have been much better in my opinion. But EA made a pretty constrictive system. What if I had wanted an Elven swordsmen? Toggle doesn't cut it, because I'd lose a space for the toggle, and some of the best powers are bow-only. And some of the groups really don't need two and three groups.

I agree... all I wanted to do was create a warmage (or battlemage) hero!
Heavy armor, a big hammer and magic.
I just want to shout "HAMMERTIME" whenever he appeared :wink_new:

One thing we should add, the option to chance skin colour, so that the're not only white heroes.
(Please, do not take this as a black knight pun kay!?)

No offence but neither me nor you EMP have ever seen black-skined dunadain, gondorian, elf, dwarf, rohhirim. The only race the skin-change could be ok is some race from the east or south.

Yeah, okay you're right.
But don't you think it's weird that while there are deserts in Harad, all the easterlings are white skinned.
It's like that Dune movie, white Fremen?????????

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Please (sits on knees in front of PC) I'm begging you don't remove the CaH's from your mod. I love CaH I even rework my CaH's so I can have elves in Mordor or Goblins in Gondor. Also could you make it possible to use a CaH in the MotE faction. I love MotE, I've loved them since I first saw them in the movie and read about them in the books.

It's your decision Oh fearless leader. :-)

Well-thought :) Not just MotE, but Rohan also needs this upgrade. Nice noticing... :p

Violate the Tolkien Alignment Policy (have elves in Mordor or Goblins in Gondor) ??? How the F@#% is that a good idea???? :D

It is my understanding that Orcs somehow evolved from elves who let themselves in with dark powers... so...

Orcs are a race of their own. There are female orcs.

...don't think about that late at night. :)

Don't worry ithilienranger732 nobody will 34 orcs (I hope)

In other news, in the movies, Saruman told one of his underlings that Orcs actually once were elves who meddled with dark arts.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost 100% positive of this.

Not elves who meddled in dark arts, but who were captured by the dark powers, the first of Morgoth's servants, corrupted maiar spirits. The captive elves were tortured and mutilated until they were a ruined and terrible form of life far from their original form and filled with Morgoth's malice and hatred for all things, until they multiplied into vast armies and became the footsoldiers of Morgoth's army.

Edit: But that's only one theory behind the origin of orcs, there are others if anyone cares to find them.

Then how can orcs and uruks spawn from pits, are those comparable to cloning vats (artificial mechanical wombs) or axlotl tanks (artificial bio organic wombs)

Then in how far are the movies canon?
You can see how a Uruk is spawned from a pit.
And about the books well...

Note that I only have the dutch version of Lord of the rings and you probably know how far as translations go.
And if you don't, they change some things... they even change names.
For example in dutch, "the Lord of the rings" is called as "In de ban van de ring" which (if translated back to English) means something as "Under the spell of the ring" or simply "Captivated by the ring" while if literally translated it should something as "De heer van de ringen"
My main point being that through translation, certain aspects of the story maybe different due to misinterpretation (main cause of the crapification of the dutch version of Dune) or changed for the benefit of readability.
So my understanding of lore is based on the movies and what I've read in my copies of the book, it may be a tad of the general path sometimes, but I try to manage.

^_^ (Yeah, my 100th post) :)

In the Silmarillion, it is stated that orcs are dead elves that come from the dark pits. They are created from the dark spawning magic or Morgoth (A.K.A Melkor). The magic used created some sort of dragging effect, where dead elves that are nearby are sucked into the earth underneath the pit and slowly mutilated into orcs.
Uruk-Hai are known properly as goblin-men. The adventage of 'men' is that they are unaltered by sunlight and can cover great distance at speed. After witnessing the advantage of uruks, Sauron began creating them, which a section of the Mordor army was.
I hope this helps. By the way, some of you will know me as kingtom 256. I just couldn't be bothered creating an account, I was just in the lecturing mood haha. Might create an accoutn later.
By the way I LOVE THIS MOD!

The men from Harad were dark-skinned in the movie, they also mainly rode the Mumakil. The Easterlings weren't exactly white-skinned either. They were "sallow-skinned", which is similar to the skin-colour of the Southeast Asian (Japan, China, Korea, ect.) peoples.
