I agree on Narnia having fast units. and yeah, the gold armor doesn't fit some factions, but Narnia seems to use a lot of red and gold, so I'll give it to them. (but make it more gold-looking)

ah, the Elven Alliance. let us pause for a moment in respect...pause over, moving on.

yes, Telmar didn't have exactly the best leaders. but it does say in the book that the younger Tels were of the same mind as Caspian. It was the older Tels, and especially the ones with high positions, that followed Miraz's example. but that is a lore discussion. :thumbsupdrool:

We'll tinker with the upgrades cost as we make the mod. I'll start it out at 150 above normal, and work from there. technically, every faction will have a spammable unit of some sort.

Witch's Brutes it is. :D

I don't think anyone disagrees that having a grizzly bear knocking on your door is any fun. :D

Oreius' swords. Dual swords will have a better attack toward infantry, hags, and anything else that walks. His greatsword will be better toward cavalry, heroes, and monsters. little swords for little stuff, big sword for big stuff. ;)

if everything else besides the above is already decided and satisfactory, i will release the new version of the tech trees.

Mind and Body are of different matter. The Younger Telmarines may have mind similar to Caspian, but only to survive they need to act similar to Miraz.

Narnian armor, make primarily red please! They seem to have thier armor more red than gold. Plus, I HATE THAT GOLDEN ARMOR!!! HATE IT!!!

As for Spammable units, that doesn't fit with the position of Narnia and Caspian. They have a very limited number of men and cant afford to spam anything. Look at Gondor and Rohan? They don't have spammable units. (really. They don't. The Definition of spam is a unit designed for one purpose only, and that is to distract and buy time. The Witch can afford a spammable unit, since she has such a massive army. Miraz and his leadership style could Justify spam for the Telmarines, but the situation of the Narnians of both factions simply doesn't justify spam. Think if you were a leader in Peter's or Caspian's boots. Would you send out all sorts of your very limited men just to distract the enemy army? Not likely, unless you are as sadistic and self centered as Miraz, which I highly doubt.

To RING OF FATE (there, i got it right) Im sorry. My mind was wandering when I wrote the last message. I'll try not to do it again. I don't carry hard feelings by the way.

Actually, all the facions have spam units, Mordor being the best, to Isen the worst.
Mordor: Orcs.
Rohan: Peasents.
Gondor: Soldiers.
Isen: Uruks.
That is, unless your talking book's and movie's armies.
Oh, and Folca, it's ok, you can call me Ring for all I care, just as long as you say something that means my name at least.

Hopefully this is it.
THE COMPLETE NARNIA MOD TECH TREES!!
(available below)

now lets talk about some other features of this mod. Personally, i would like to add three other new things to the game:
1. some new colors (white, a new green, a new red, and a new blue for sure)
2. some maps of Narnian locations
3. one or two new creeps (available only on new Narnia maps)

Folca, is there anything else that you would like see done? (no suggestions about the vanilla factions, i really don't want to mess with them now)
btw, once we are done, i can create a special Narnia/Elven combo mod for you.....

Mordor's orcs are spam units, but the other faction's units weren't truly made for spamming. Orcs are so weak that they are barely good for anything else, except mass mobbing. The other factions units can be used for spam if needed, but that isn't really a good tactic for thier intentions. I prefer to look at the movies and books before game physics.

And I will try not to get your name wrong again, Ring. :p

I have a few things to talk to you about Jeth, but my modem is going crazy at the moment. :p I really cannot wait until my mom gets cable.

Your still on DIAL UP?!?! You have my pity...And I hope you get your satellite soon!

I definately say yes to colors. I was thinking maybe Scarlet(Narnia), Forest Green(Caspian), Glacial Blue(White Witch), and Navy Blue(Telmar).

Maps, I also say yes to. I would say to include at least: From Wardrobe, Lantern Waste, Western Wood, Beaversdam, The Stone Table, Beruna Field, Frozen Lake, Frozen Waterfall, Cair Paravel, and Witch's Castle. From Caspian, I would include Haunted Forest, Fords of Beruna/Beruna Bridge, Cair Paravel(ruined), Caspian I Castle, and Aslan's How. From our own perspectives, maybe Cauldron Pool, Northern Marsh, Shuddering Wood, Allies' Enclave, Owlwood, Archen River, and Ettinsmoor. I own a map of Narnia, so I know the positions of each of these areas.

For Creeps, maybe a Ghoul's Cave, and perhaps an Ogre's Den. Tell me your ideas.

Your still on DIAL UP?!?! You have my pity...And I hope you get your satellite soon!

as do I! :p Your sentiments are refreshing, especially since i just read this (most freakin ever) noob's post, where he called the mod leader of RA the "dick with dial-up." I promptly shoved an enlightening fact (that not all people can be blessed with high speed) down his throat. kindly and tactfully, of course. :p

I definately say yes to colors. I was thinking maybe Scarlet(Narnia), Forest Green(Caspian), Glacial Blue(White Witch), and Navy Blue(Telmar).

and white, since the Witch seemed fond of that color for some reason.... :p if you will tell me the RGB values of those four colors you suggested, Folca, i can implement them immediately.

I own a map of Narnia, so I know the positions of each of these areas.

let's stick to locations in the two movies for now. as more locations are added in the other movies to come, we will add them. Ultimately, if a book-important location is not featured in a movie, we'll probably add those too. (We might even have to add the Calormenes as a faction in the--distant--future. For now, I want no ideas on them.)

additionally, my one-less-year-old sister has taken a liking to mapping, and is already starting on one.....she just might become a member of our mod team.

For Creeps, maybe a Ghoul's Cave, and perhaps an Ogre's Den. Tell me your ideas.

if agreeable, i will keep to BFME tradition and only make creeps out of bad creatures. (in other words, duh. ;) )
i think of lairs as small, medium, and large. we need one of each. goblins were small, wargs were medium, and trolls were obviously large.

I was thinking of reviving the Hag's House as a creep. a medium creep, probably. for other ideas, i need to leaf through the books real quick.

send me a pic of a ghoul, so I know what you are talking about.

Ogre's Den is good, similar to a Troll Cave. in that case, it would be large.

i know this might be really ambitious, but how about some campaigns?

Horray for Jeth Calark's Sister! She is more than welcome on the mod crew!

For the Colors, try

Forest Green
R=0
G=51
B=0

Glacial Blue
R=204
G=255
B=255

Scarlet
R=153
G=0
B=0

Navy Blue
R=0
G=51
B=102

I cannot find a ghoul, but They are thin, gangly, humanesque creatures. There is a bit of one in the scene where Otmin is jogging towards the Narnians in the Charge.

And I have been considering a campaign myself too. However, if we do, I suggest we do it in a similar fashion to the BFME 1 campaign, with a semi-nonlinear gameplay so people can play the way they like.

thanks for the RGB's.

I'll take a look at the movie! :p

yes, I liked BFME I's campaign better than II's. But doing it that way means more work. Well, since we seem to be doing the impossible anyways, let's shoot for it. In the event that our modding experience just wont let us do it, we can always make it linear.

that is what I was thinking, Folca. but that's off-topic.

the colors you sent me are good! :mellow: Glacial Blue, especially, rocks; I'm divided between that one or plain white for the Witch's default color. I'm leaning on Glacial.
the only one that concerns me is the navy blue, to me, it's not navy blue. good blue, but not navy. I'm thinking of finding a pic of the Telmarines in armor and ripping the color of their blue of them. (thru Paint) my sister thinks that the scarlet needs to be more red, but I don't know.

no, i haven't gotten around to creeps. arrghh.

For Creeps, you could have a 'turned bear' or something. Not a Talking Bear, but a natural, aggressive one.

in The Horse and His Boy, it mentions a Talking Bear that began to adapt the practices of a dumb one, and grew quite mean. not a bad idea.

What is your opinion on the bear creep? I think it should replace the Ogre Den, so the creeps are unique from any faction.

Yes, do replace the Ogre with the Bear. I like that idea better.

Here is a blue that I think is pretty close to what's on the Telmarine Shields.

G=102
B=153
