Well, she can not attack Rohan's gate either :p

Did you position her correctly?

Yeah, if she's not in the right spot, she won't do any damage.

...And there's so many ways to interpurt that Matias :)

Well, I'm pretty sure that the cursor didn't change when i wanted to attack the Rohan Castle Gate... :sad2:

Okay, Galadriel's "Throw down it's walls"-ability cannot attack walls and gates. Guess it was a small mistake of mine.
Perhaps it is an idea to get that ability to work on walls and gates too?:p

Hey all,

great job on the modification, it kept me entertained for hours ;) I got a few suggestions for the next version.

- add hotkeys for elven buildings if possible;

-Black gate(good campaign): it's just TOO easy and boring, played it on hard and nearly fell asleep, i suggest to greatly reduce the delay between the waves, to make it like a continuous onslaught. The current delay between the waves is stupid, gandy word of power already recharged till the next wave came. Also make the waves tougher if possible!

-idk if it's a bug, but knights of Dol Amroth come already equipped with armor, horse shields and forged blades, or at least their models look like it. Can that be fixed?

-again dunno if it's a bug but I can't select Cidran. he just attacks the enemies and fights till he dies, and i can't retreat him or control him in any way

-Elrond's leadership is very OPed imo, i get level 10 units in a few seconds under his LD. level 10 units are quite insane... could it be nerfed to 200-250% experience?

- i don't like the banner system for elves, it's very impractical to buy a banner every time from the armory and manually equip it to units, when you could just do it with a click :) and also that means that you shouldn't delete your armory to get a 750 refund and build a farm in its place because you must buy banners from it...



also, is there any hamachi server for TEA online play? i'd gladly play some games with you guys ;)

Anyways, yeah, it's a bug, whenever one in a batt is killed, then revived, it appears as if they have the upgrades. They don't actually, so yeah.

Cirdan, that's the way he was designed. Defense only.

I think you might be extraggeranting a little with Elrond's ;)

I personally don't like it either, but it's Cel's way of making the armoury useful after you buy the upgrades ;)

well actually no lol, i was playing against a lot of AI players and had Elrond+statue and my mirks levelled up to level10 almost instantly(+400% experience if that's stackable ;) )

Well, you could make armory useful by making ups unusable if you don't have an armory, just like in BFME2, or just like Gondor's marketplace. that would make it useful and also a priority target for enemies. This banner system looks rather stupid to me :)

Maybe a huge price drop Rob? 1000 at the most. He's not worth much more than a flet.

Well, 400% experiance translates into getting experiance 5x faster. So, if they start with no experience, when they would be on 3, they're on 10. So it can't be instantly, unless the ai was just feeding you exp ;)

Perhaps. But I'm against changing anything too much here.

Elven, why did you not mention this to me sooner! :p I was not even aware of this bug. I should be able to fix it.

Yeah, Elven is right and that part won't be changed to him. Will probably only make him 1000 now as suggested. ;)

There will be a slight nerd on that I suppose.

I can't help feeling that we, as a community, may not change the costs of heroes as Celeglin decided it. :)

Agreed. ;) Though I'm pretty sure Cirdan had a small leadership speed buff to spearmen of the havens as well.

Well, you could make armory useful by making ups unusable if you don't have an armory, just like in BFME2, or just like Gondor's marketplace. that would make it useful and also a priority target for enemies.

I don't think we should be changing the armoury. It's a bit of a pain, but the banner carriers are cheaper than other factions, and it makes the elves unique. Maybe if you made the build time quicker it wouldn't matter so much that you have to manually upgrade each batt. It also prevents changing Cel's mod too much. ;)

Anyway i thought part of the reason you wanted to change the system was so you could replace the armoury with a farm after you've got the upgrades. You can't do that anyway if you make it necessary to keep to use upgrades..

I can second that, galadriel's throw down walls ability doesn't work on gates or walls. She can damage the gates with her normal attack though. It seems funny that "Throw down it's WALLS" doesn't damage walls. :)

A few other things:

Is gothmog in the evil campaign, i can't remember. If he isn't, could we put him in?

Gothmog's summoned morgul orcs don't give experience when killed

The banner carrier auto upgrade button doesn't do anything. Not that i ever use it, i wouldn't be fussed if it got removed.

Gimli's slayer becomes available at rank 7, text says rank 5

neither Hama's nor Theoden's summoned rohirrim give experience when killed

the royal guards still don't receive a discount from the well water bonus

when having eorlingas selected and mousing over a royal guard batt. the combine hordes cursor appears. they can't be combined though.

More bugs and balance issue to address to address... keep them coming :twisted:

Also, in the README file, some of the bugs and balance changes have "*UNTESTED*" at the end of them. If people can test those out and see that they actually work, I would greatly appreciate it. :)

I'm saying don't change the Elven banners because Cel never wanted the Elves to have the same mechanic as the other 4 and had them do it manually on purpose.

-if you play a normal skirmish after playing Helms Deep or Minas Tirith(good campaign), where the leadership FX's are disabled, you won't see any leadership FX's on your units unless you restart the game. Is that possible to fix?


-just noticed, pierce damage does good damage to structures, is that intended? I mean, it's kinda silly and very unrealistic that a bunch of (unupgraded) arrows can destroy a structure easily. I know that reducing pierce damage vs structures would reduce the elves' ability to harass early on but they don't really have to harass till they get knights or pikes.


-the Minas Tirith mission(good campaign): it's way too easy at the beginning, the orc archers only shoot trebs, they don't have siege towers etc... imo there should be A LOT of siege towers and straight from the beginning, allowing the orcs to actually do something other than standing and waiting to be hit by the archers and fire trebs. Also because of the lack of siege towers, a lot of orcs get clumped and stuck at the gate. The very few catas only shoot at the invincible buildings and the mumaks at the end just stand there and don't do anything. you don't even have to micro much at that mission anyway, just let the fire trebs do the job. Just add at least twice or thrice as many towers and it would be a lot more challenging :lion:


-I know you guys don't want to make radical changes etc, but Elves lack siege. imo, they should have ents, just like Rohan. It makes perfect sense and it also means that an Elves vs FoL game doesn't have to last till very late game where you must get expensive heroes out in order to kill his castle. How are elves supposed to crack a camper when they don't have siege? :party: I don't think it's possible to take out a Gondor base with full laser towers when you only have an army with heroes at your disposal.(just an example)


-The tooltips for chant and Theoden's LD say +150% damage and +50% armor. They were both +50% damage(and armor) in the normal BFME. Is it just a tooltip error or does it really give +150% damage? If that's intended, I consider that ridiculously overpowered... Come on, uruks with more than 2 times as much damage from the beginning? :) that's gg for Elves or Mordor! And Rohhirim with +150% damage lol...

Well, that's all i can think of atm <^_^

Yes, I've beaten it on hard and it was a piece of cake tbh. There's very few towers which get killed easily by the fire trebs and after the gate is smashed, the thousands of orcs get stuck at the gate and don't do anything. just a few go though the gate, the rest just stay there, waiting to get trampled by the Rohan army with GC :p if there are more siege towers, the orcs wouldn't get stuck and they can invade the city faster

Is Cirdan a single use hero? I was able to recruit him initially, though when he fell I was unable to revive him - sometimes he appeared at the citadel (though could not be revived). Other times he wasn't there at all.
