Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

I think we need another hack and slash LOTR game since Return of the King is dated now and conquest flopped.
It does seem odd to me that WB aren't really using the Movie content even though they have the rights to it.

Basically I'm looking at this game as finally a new Snowblind release after Champions Return to Arms in 2004 (or 2005... I cannot remember).

I think it'll be a good enough game, even though I to the death of me would want more customisation on the party, in all aspects. Gender, race, class, looks, whatever.. Then I wouldn't have to bring a mage, or have to use only woman elven archers...

Graphics are great, the gore isn't over the top no worse than Fable.
The story line is a bit thin but it fits in well with the book and it's probably the most researched LOTR game in a long while.
The designs are amazing and the scenery is too.
It's fun to play too the gameplay is mixed up a bit with new enemy types introduced every so often usually in the form of Orc Chieftains or Trolls.
The battles can get pretty hectic when you are fighting off a half dozen Goblins and 2 Trolls at the same time.
You can even change your character's appearance a bit.
This game is a pretty demanding on my failing computer. :(
My criticisms of the game though is the auto save feature.
There is no save menu or save points instead you usually have to wait for checkpoints.
Another related issue is that you can't change characters while on a stage nor can you exit a map unless you finish the stage.
Equipping your AI allies is also dicky.
The Equipment menu doesn't show you what anyone's wearing except the part you have equipped ie if you are looking at boots it will grey out the ones you are wearing.
This means it's hard to track your allies' gear and with the last issue it just makes it tougher.
Instead you "give" the equipment to them and it seems to overwrite the last one equipped.
Another odd thing is that if you are playing as Farin and then switch to Eradan, the AI controlled Farin doesn't keep your gear, for some reason they are separate and different from your player controlled versions.
Despite those issues it's still a very good game for LOTR fans.
