Or how about the German attack takes place in 1941 and is halted in the Ardennes because France and GB got 1 more year to rearm.

Andre 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Since we can only have two campaigns, I think all three Axis would win in theirsBut would both three factions win, or would Hitler go for sole world domination ?

-Vancouver (Millitary training camps)
-Ottawa (Government HQ)
-Kelowna and Vernon (millitary training and millitary factories)
-St. Johns (it'd be funnie to see us newfoundlanders fight at home)
-Regina (RCMP and millitary training)
Once those would be taken theres nothing canada could do... it's funny because Kelowna and vernon are so small but if left un captured would come back to bite the nazis in the ass. They have a large armoured division base out of there and During WW II 3/4 or that devision was still kept at the base.

In a stroke of sanity Hitler listens to his generals and shortens the frontline in Russia, while establisching a strong defensive position in the east.
As a result the war is prolonged and new German weapons become available.
Dday, after initial succes draws to a stalemate and faced with another trench-war an attempt at Hitlers life is made. This time succesfull (Hitler is killed)
Germany surrenders to the Allied forces, but Russia refuses to sign a peace treaty.
New situation: Germany withdraws from the occupied countries and forms an anti-communist alliance against Russia (remember Churchill never liked Josef Stalin)
Uncertain on how this would affect the pacific campaign though, perhaps a Soviet/Japanese alliance?

i doubt this
perhaps russia uses the concentration of us-pacific-fleet on Japan and attacks US/Canada via the Behringstreet
this would bring the us into trouble...they have to defend themself on land...
japan could take the whole pacific now, if US concentrates on defending against Russia
Japan should get some plans for german prototypes by some hitlerloyal generals or scientists
otherwhise with the Soviet/Japanese alliance you play now Red Alert
wpould be fun though

this would create a massive easternfront
germany needs then nearly all troops and tanks in the east
this would give allies the possibility fo D-Day (first england and then normandy)

soviet/japanese alliance?
i doubt this
Not that unlikely.
Ever heard of "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"
besides you should also consider that Japan and the USSR weren't at war with each other. The USSR only declared war on Japan somewhere in 1945.
Also Churchill never liked the USSR and Stalin never trusted the western allies. JS even held back the soviet offensives which should have been launched same time as dday (Normandy) for several weeks.

A Soviet/Japanese alliance isn't that unlikely.
But I have a question; isn't the purpose of this thread for the Axis? The Allies and Soviets won.
If the 'winners' and 'losers' ally, then it makes for a pretty short and boring game; avoiding exactly this is the point of the alternate timeline!
I don't think the alliances should be different from WW2. That is to say, the Axis can only count on each other for help in their campaigns.
To this end, even small things can make a difference;
=Germany keeps bombing the UK, and also wins the Battle of Britain.
=Germany presses home its advantage at Kursk.
=The Battle of the Bulge is a success.
=German forces don't make a beeline for Stalingrad, and instead Hitler listens to his Generals...
So far, I haven't heard much for Italy or for Japan...
Some (limited) possibilities:
=Italians develop better armour, and manage to hold on to Africa prior to German arrival.
=Italian success in Africa means they then move to push out the Allies. (They might get some German help for this?)
=With the African continent to draw resources from, Italians now join the Eastern and Western Fronts in greater force. Better resources and experience allow futher technological developments to thier equipment.
=Japan's campaign to the West is a greater success, and the whole of China falls to them, adding to its resources.
=Japan catches ALL the ships at Pearl Harbor. This delays retaliation, and allows Japan to build its forces.
=The extra time and resources gained allow the Japanese to see the success of the Tank in Europe. Realising they need to hold on to China, Japan begins developing its own armour in greater earnest, in order to repel the coming Allied retaliation.
=Japan is successful in repelling invasion forces, and holds on to its territory.
=Japan now has to face America, and possibly learns of the Bomb?
Anyway, some ideas, as I said. I think refighting actual battles that were a close-run thing, but winning this time around might be fun for the Axis. It also grounds the alternative campaigns, and makes them sit closer to what actually happened.

Ok. Now that the topic is visible again.
Post your ideas on alternate WW2 timelines. However try to keep it plausible.
When an event is altered (e.g. battle for Guadacanal) also try to validate which impact it would have on the cause of the war. Unit development, casualties, alternative strategies in that particular theather of war etc.
In short we expect you to think your alternatives through.
I'm giving this topic one more chance.
However if this topic get's spammed like the last time, this means the end of public imput on the dday campaigns.

THEY WON!
The whole point of the alternate Timeline is to allow the Axis to win :|
So posting stuff about Stalin and Russia is kinda pointless since it won't make the mod.
Sorry, but somebody had to say it

Tell me that you never wondered about what would have happened if dday failed or what would have happened if the Japanese won the battle for Midway.
However, alternate timelines for Italy, Germany and Japan are the most interesting.

The Italians & Germans successfully invade Egypt & repel the invasion of West Africa by the allies, thus cutting Britain off from India & the pacific
Axis forces are successful in capturing Moscow, Stalingrad & Leningrad. The Russians have one last gamble & throw everything into retaking Moscow, which is easily done but soon after the Russians are trapped in a pincer move that encircles Moscow & the main Russian army. Then the pocket is slowly squeezed & the Russians are mainly defeated. What's left of the Red army goes on the defensive & waits for the western allies to come to there aid.
D-day is postponed a week dew to bad weather (nearly did happen), in which time Hitler learns of the plans to invade Normandy & moves reinforcements in to place. The weather clears a week later & D-day is launched, but 24 hours after it cleared one of the worst storms on record hits the channel & sinks many ships with supplies & reinforcements on. (It really did happen).
Mean while the RAF & USAF still rule the skies above Europe, but because of the failure of D-day & the Russians going into a defensive stance, tank production is eased off & resources consecrated more on new jet fighters. Soon the tide turns & bomber casualties are too much for the Allies to continue it's bombing raids.
With the Russians mainly beaten & forced in to a gorilla war, the Germans turn their attention to Britain. The second battle of Britain begins with attacks of RAF airfields on the south-east cost & mainland with devastating effect. After three months of bombing the RAF was on its knees & what planes were left were moved out of range of German bombers to be saved for the invasion. Now that the RAF was out of the way plans to take out the Royal Navy were put into place with an air strike on Scapa Flow with anti-ship missiles
More later, I have bean typing for about an hour...

Tell me that you never wondered about what would have happened if dday failed or what would have happened if the Japanese won the battle for Midway.
Of course. But those are Axis Timelines.
Altering an important event, even in the tiniest way, or allowing a defeat to become a victory where it nearly was, allows the Axis campaigns to 'succeed'. And for the Axis campaigns, that's fine.
But campaigns where Allies/Soviets do differenetly than historically, so as to affect the Allied/Soviet campains, is stupid.
Hope that is clearer.
