chinese? korean? anyhow your TFD ra2md.exe should start it with the dvd as that checks the disc and relays the valid response back to gamemd.exe unless your using a cracked gamemd.exe to bypass whole needing disk thing.

just a note that the gamemd.exe is pretty much the same in both normal YR and TFD afaik.

RS 2.0 is gonna require either the original YR or TFD disc. Will more or less plug 'n' play start.



japanese. lol and anyways im running on Vista 32-bit which has been known to have compatibility problems with games.

and i need a unofficial patch to play the game. and i cant install it. if i install the npatch.. well its just diffivult basically.

what is this unofficial patch? if i knew more could maybe incorporate this "patch".

the patch was mean't to add online gameplay to the old CNC games online playable. and for the others ones like Red alert 2 and red alert 2 yuri's revenge. it was mad playable. here's a link to the website that holds it. i don't know what you can do though.

I'm sure it goes without saying that you have looked into the interesting gameplay features on the ares project list(not to mention the countless bug fixes to the original game)? So what do you think, have you considered upgrading robot storm to take advantage of these?

As of current, RS 2.0 is incompatible with ares. Maybe in future. Rewire will make excellent use of ares tho :crazed:

i reccomend waiting until a stable build comes out
ima tester and it was rough to get to work
i had to wipe it off completely. but i'll try again soon.

Dammit. Since my CD is scratched so bad (THANK YOU SIS, you bitch), I was hoping this mod would be standalone. TS mods are becoming standalone, I'm hoping RA2/YR will soon follow.

Well, currently...you just need a installed RA2/YR, no disc and mod goes into the folder and runs from own exe and wont ask for disc. may consider doing a total stand-alone later.

Just for confirmation, is this going to use N-Patch or Ares? (I ask because, A] Ares already has features and potentail and B] You don't need the CD to play).

RS will come with own exe so you don't have to worry about doing anything yourself manually and yes will work without cd/dvd.

Hi first time poster and longish time lurker i have a few questions (i think you need to edit the title of the thread to make it a little less confusing :thumbsupsmiley: ):

1: In the newest RS 2.0 video on your youtube channel (Total Annihilation part 1) About 40 seconds to about 1:10 seconds we see a huge tank with a triple chevorn status, is it a secret battle lab unit, a branch specific unit or is it accessible to the player without those two requirements in game? (And you haven't posted the video on the site?), I don't think it is the armageddon tank or any other tank we have seen.

2: I know one of the team members (forgot which one though) said that the manual would be fully updated near the release of 2.0 (yes i know the release term you have is "when its done") but i would rather have the update of the manual sooner please if you can spare time so we can know what to expect.

1) it is one of the stolen techs named Gladiator Tank for now and no news yet as i planned do a 2nd video to have 2 vids for news but too busy for now.

2) Usually manual is finished for public release as hardly of value when not have the software..plus mod is hard to manual for now as some of it is pure mess due to serious work in progress but those vocal RS members in current invited beta have rights to talk and share pics/video about the mod as it is now if they wanna get vocal in this public forum ;)

Gets back to fixing mod based on feedback and issue new build for testers. :umad:

I will do a full update of the manual next weekend, provided that I have a working beta version by Friday afternoon, when I get home from work. It is entirely at Apollo's discretion whether that gets put up on the site. :umad:

Ah thanks for the questions, well the reason why i sort of asked for a manual because its just far too hard to recongise what unit osiris collective uses and i am just really curious and excited about the branch system that FL, Nexus and Osiris will use and what the tank was (it seems to be radioactive or biological based looking from the video).

The reason I haven't bothered to keep on top of it is that by the time I've updated the manual, Apollo's already made some change to the unit's function, or chopped the unit altogether - it's basically not worth my time bothering at the moment as no sooner have I written it up is it out-of-date. Hopefully Apollo's assurances that there will be very few changes except the cosmetics from this point on will actually be true. :umad:

I would like to see a basic timeline at least from around 1972 when the events of RA2, to YR warzone to the events of RS and some summaries for AL, FL Nexus but for Osiris make it sound a little mysterious (unless the team is planning to reveal far more infomation about Osiris when the manual is released). At least space out the dates because the technology that is used by the AL seems far more advanced compared than RA2/YR (not sure about Warzone though) allies.

EDIT: The 1972 (or was it 1973?) date comes from the TIME magazine that is seen at the end cutscene(s) of the allied RA2 campaign.
