That would mean the release of Community Editions, unless Rob comes back swiftly. There hasn't been a release since March 8th, 2009 - over a year - but if there is a Community Edition release, it would probably mostly contain maps, minor unit skin changes, a few building reskins if necessary, things like that, and very few actual game play changes.
But then again, it isn't my place to be talking about this - this is just me guessing and pondering, so don't listen to any of it.
'The Twilight of Man is nigh, and coming ever closer. The days have shortened into cold, forlorn darkness and sunrise to sundown is a bitter struggle for survival. But do not think for a moment that we shall not fight. We shall not go quietly into the dusk. We shall not throw down arms and flee, or surrender. We will go on, we will not falter. And even should we die, we shall make an end that will be remembered for thousands of years. For beautiful Arnor that is, for glorious Númenor that was! We are the Dúnedain, we are the Men of the North, and our foes will remember our steel!'

I hope your life gets sorted out and you're able to come back and mod. This is likely one of the best for BFME2 and/or RoTWK, up there with RC and SEE.
I hope this mod doesn't die, it's great. Looking forward to progress in the next few months hopefully. I'll continue to follow it while the modders still work, if only slightly.
just Rob dropping in i believe inspired many to continue work on it. (the modders) And the players to follow it, maybe a 1.06B for a Christmas present
Well anyway, I hope this mod comes doesn't die, but I agree. Family has to always come first, I hope the other modders continue some work. And I eagerly anticipate rob's return if RL gets taken care of.

I just hope Rob doesn't have to bail.

Hi, I'm Haldir74, also known as MugurumaKensei, any Bleach fans might know the name...
Yeah, you guys don't know the name.
Anyway, I've been a member of the forum for a long time. However, I rarely post. In fact, I too have been inactive on this forum for about a year, or more. Of course, it's a much bigger deal for the admin not to show up than the regular member.
Anyway, I'm also a mod of Warcraft III. Perhaps some of you know the game... Pretty popular. Anyway, I'm making a Bleach AoS (Area of Strife) map. Basically it's like a DOTA game. If you don't get that, it's like a League of Legends game. If you don't get that, it's like a Heroes of Neworth game. If you don't get that, you just don't get it -.-
So, I make models and skins as well as modify existing models and skins. I can animate characters, and I work quickly. So far, I should be sounding somewhat like Rob, our buddy that everyone should know.
After working on my map for about 6 months. My friend and I ran into a tough spot. We couldn't get the spells/abilities into the game, because neither of us were coders. We still hadn't/haven't released the first version, so it would be easy to announce the mod dead before it was born, right?
Wrong! I was unwilling to call it quits. I searched and searched for 2 months, and I finally found a coder. Not just a coder either, he's one of the best, if not the best coders in Warcraft III modding.
My whole point in telling you that story is that when you hit a brick wall, it's incredibly difficult to continue. However, sometimes you just need someone to help you. My other point is that being a mod myself truly lets me know that Rob is right. When I mod, I get so engaged in it, I tend to mod for the whole day...
So, in simple terms, I think that it's great that the mod is continuing, and I also think that it's great that they've conquered the wall after so much time. Never give up, Rob. And Forum, never stop letting him know how much you care for him and his mod. He's not just making this mod for himself you know. It's a gift to the community. And to be loved by your community like a benevolent dictator truly means a lot to any admin. Many admins are incredibly jealous. For example, I am...
My forum can't really begin until the release of the first version, so until then I don't have much of a community.
Keep up the good work, Rob. Never give up hope for your mod, because your support will never fade.
Thank you,
Jay
PS: If anything I said at any point offended anyone, remember it was a joke. Whenever you guys get mad at me, it's a joke.
PSS: I also know this is really long lol. Thanks for taking the time to read it, or if you didn't, shame on you you lazy person...

I actually really enjoyed your perspective on this whole situation but I personally wouldn't go as far to say that the modding team has conquered the brick wall yet.

And don't say a long time until you're as digitally old as me. Or, even better, Elvy.
Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

Someone needs to update that site and give some info. One of the modders that section is a bit dead and I believe most have given up on it.
Anyway just thought I would say that.. spreading the good news lol

I can only hope that the next release of RJ-RotWK mod will be as soon as possible, given all the circumstances concerning Rob and his Family.
As far as I remember, the huge things to be stll done included: new maps for ALL NEW HUGE campaign, and the campaign too; also at least some factions could not be played properly or when played by the AI they did not work as required - for example, the Rohan faction, though existed in campaign as an opponent, in fact did NOTHING on tactical map when attacked (I played Mordor and when the battle against Rohan began, they only had leadres and builders, but no buildings were built nor any units were recruited).
I don't know how the Arnor faction works, still hadn't played them or against them in the mod.
So - Rob and the whole Team - good luck and Godspeed!

P.S. Will the moddb site be updated? I like that site, and RJ-ROTWK appears to be dead if you look at the moddb site...
