Well you are correct. I didn't get it perfect, but it was close. It met my criteria in that it was a bridge floating above the lava. For gameplay it needed to be wider, and I couldn't make it too long because the lava texture would stretch.

Lol so in a word your untis couldn't reach the fortress since the bridge is very trick . I know it's like the movie , but since the fortres itself is huge and almost invincible , morevover if you can't kill the unuits inside or nearby , then it should be very hard to take !
All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.[1]

Link to a very bad quality video of my Barad-dur map in process. I am still working out how to film a good map movie.

P.S. Don't watch it. Painfully slow and long. >5.00 minutes

No, I think. Bad movie, isn't it, I will just stick to making maps.

You might want to close Worldbuilder while filming. ;)

The tower currently has a collapse animation that can't be turned off. But I know Naz will look into it since he really wants barad dur in a map.

NJM it was inspired by you! (It is pretty much an update of your map.)

P.S. Here is the next set of news from me:

Old Minas Morgul that I will not be continuing (Working on the geometry one now.)

Redhorn Pass 2
Another map re-done to the standard of SEE. I give you three mountains of Moria, otherwise known as the Jaw-crackers (by Sam).
Redhorn Pass lacked two of the three great mountains above Moria, and its Celebdil, with Durin's Tower was lacking somewhat. So I have increased mountain size, changed textures so the mountains fit their descriptions and added the ring where the Fellowship is attacked by the Misty Mountain wargs.

Yeah. But isn't SEE going more for movies? And less books?

Well, half way through the Fellowship of the Ring though. On Weathertop.

Yeah, you guys should ask Radspakr for his models and skins for the gate and the boat like thingies.

The boat like thingies (if not asked) should be remodeled to be skinnier, since that's what it looked like in the movies.

and maps should get smaller gates, Minas Tirith, Minas Morgul, and Helm's Deep if possible. And if Helm's Deep, it should be wood.

If anything the gates of minis tirith should be a lot lot lot lot larger. If you look at the movie they are massive and grond is a huge battering ram that hit the middle of the gate so if anything the gates should be a made a little bigger.

No, the gate was half the wideness of the current one. Look at the movie again, when Faramir is wounded and brought to the city by his horse, only 4 men pulled the gates open.

So I have completed Barad-dur, the Tower of Darkness. Thisgreat tower was Sauron’s main stronghold of the 3rd Age. After the siege ofDol-Guldur by the White Council to stop the Necromancer’s gathering of evil, hefled and dwelt in the semi-constructed Barad-dur. By the time of the War of theRing, Barad-dur was completed.

I will be taking a small break at mapping, will be painting some miniatures (Fountain Guard of Minas Ithil and Earnur, it's not like I ever stop designing).

Mount Gundabad will be next (its not a fortress map however, you can't actually enter Mount Gundabad).
