I heard Peter Jackson had promised an extra Christmas present. I was hoping to see more characters, such as Dain, Bard or Beorn revealed, but I'll take a Production Video. Watching in HD, so have to wait for it to load first...

Was ok - interesting video, but not much content. Was Jackson in costume in one of the clips (1:17)?

Trailer was amazing. The singing was a bit weird at first, but there was lots of great content. It was really interesting reading through tORN's scene-by-scene analysis and finding out about the Thrain clip and the Dungeons of Dol Guldor.

For those interested I've attached the song as an mp3.
Only the vocal part though, unfortunately there was too much dialogue for the rest.

It's so going into my mod. :p

It seems that when I come back at my random intervals, something useful to me will pop up.

Thanks Rad!

I just realised that Nori is played by Jed Brophy who played Sharku in Two Towers.

I think he'll be good. I really liked the more serious roles he had in Mrs Brown and The Last Samurai, it'll be great to see what he does with Dain.

He still seems to much of a John Cleese for me :p
But oh well, there's not much I can do about it :xd:

I can only remember to have seen him in The Last Samurai, and I find that performance quite enjoyable, if a little short.

So I'm pretty exited it's him. Might've suited a member of the company more, rather than Dain, but we'll see.

He seems perfect for a man of dale or a peasant but I don't think a dwarf fits him :p
Didn't he play in Lemony Snicket's as Monty Monty?

What are the other guarenteed cast members?

And yay!
Weta is doing the designs and such :)

The Hobbit looks to be coming along nicely.

I'm hoping PJ can push so much quality into this that it blows LOTR out of the water. :thumbsuphappy:

...

Also, 5k resolution? In 3D? At 48 FPS?
Gezus.

...

Here's a visual of how high res, 5k really is.

I'm assuming they will have to scale everything down when they release it for blu-ray?
