I'm also having trouble with connections.

It's pretty weird since I can play with 1 of my friends. But as soon as another person comes in, I can't seem to connect to them.

That friend is the only person I can connect to.

I've also followed all instructions on how to fix it but it still doesn't let me connect with anyone else then my friend.

Any help would be much appriciated.

What exactly did you do? What is your network configuration like? What about your firewalls, port forwarding? How does your options.ini look like?

When I first installed the game with the new patch and all, I was only able to connect to 1 person. And not to any others.

I've allowed BFME through my firewall, and I've opened my port. Although I've just found out it actually is not open on port 16000 UDP.

I have no idea on how to get it open to be honest.

Furthermore, I've followed all steps on all guides that were posted here or given/linked to me and it still won't work.

Is there maybe any way you could help me out with teamviewer or anything like that?

thank you in advance.

Which version of the game do you use? The original vanilla bfme where you installed the patches manually or forshires online edition?

Portforwarding should be explained on http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm (just select your router model) and forward the port to your local computer LAN address.

Sorry I don't have teamviewer at the moment.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

I am using the version of forshire, and then with the T3A 1.06 update added to it.

I've already tried following that tutorial, but the port is still closed..

Are you sure the people you played with have their ports properly forwarded and such?

Yes they have, but I had some help and my port is now open. I should be able to play with other people now.

Thank you for your help :)

It was working but when I open the ports and I changed the Options.ini file, and When I was trying to login said "The transaction timed out before receiving a response".

CAn someone help me? What I am doing wrong?

I got the same problem, it always just says "The transaction timed out before receiving a response".

Did you edit your Options.ini as proposed in step 2?

Go to %appdata%\My Battle for Middle-earth Files\ (for BFME2, %appdata%\My Battle for Middle-earth Files™ II Files)

or

C:\Users\ [Your Computer Name] \AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth Files (for BFME2, C:\Users\ [Your Computer Name] \AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files)

Open a file called options.ini and add/change the following to it:

FirewallBehavior = 1
FirewallNeedToRefresh = FALSE
FirewallPortAllocationDelta = 0
FirewallPortOverride = 16000

If present, remove the line

GameSpyIPAddress = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Afterwards, make sure Options.ini is set to Read Only (right click > properties)

Do you have hamachi or similar installed? If yes, disable their network adapters completely.

No i dont, and i disabled all the adapters (including the vpn one which i dont use) except the default network adapter allowing me to log to the internet.

It seems the client (me) try to connect to the server and most likely run a loop, making the connection impossible.

I check the 16000 port status with this tool and the result is fine.

What is really weird is the lack of error message of something (i had the log problem =solved, the port problem=solved) but now i dont know where the problem comes from :/

Can you post the T3A launcher logfile please? It's located in %TEMP%.

The log looks fine. There must be something blocking or interfering with your connection. Is there any vpn service running? Any other firewall?
