Usually when nothing happens or the standard Windows "game stopped responding" crash pops up, said syringe.log's END has the data required to debug the cause.
On the other hand, since your syringe is launched fine, I'm thereby guessing your antivirus preventing runtime injection. We know of Comodo Internet Security and ZoneAlarm as examples of such software, and the Ares manual has a fix mentioned for those two: http://ares-develope...ternet-security

Excuse me- I only wish to ask how can I get rid of "wsock32.dll"? I start C&Cnet It gives me "wsock32.dll" then I delete it. I think I can play then this comes up : "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application." Please what should I do?!

C&CNet needs wsock32.dll in order to run multiplayer. Why would you want to delete it?

Ah yes! I understand now.
The thing is, sometimes CnCNet has issues with the existing wsock when you install the game, which is why it gives that error.
By removing the initial wsock, CnCNet will generate its own version of that dll. If you run CnCNet again without deleting wsock, it should work fine now.

Can you show us a screenshot of your game directory? Perhaps we can see what the problem is from there.

Hi everyone, I recently downloaded Mental Omega 3.0 and have been having trouble getting it to launch. Specifically, what happens is that...well, it doesn't really launch at all. I fire up the launcher, two processes are added to the list, then a few seconds later they're gone. It's so quick that I don't even have time to check which processes are getting added and removed, even. No error messages pop up, my computer doesn't make any odd noises, nothing. It just refuses to work. Any idea what could be causing that?

There should be a syringe.log in your RA2 folder after that two processes (which are syringe.exe and gamemd.exe) which could tell us the culprit. My first thought would be ZoneAlarm or Comodo Internet Security tho.

There certainly was one. It had surprisingly little to say, though, this is what it had:
[10:21:24] Syringe 0.7.0.2
[10:21:24] ===============
[10:21:24] WinMain: lpCmdLine = "-CD -LOG"
[10:21:26] WinMain: ERROR: No command line arguments given, exiting...
[10:21:26] WinMain: Exiting on failure.
That's all. Does that shed any light on what could've happened?

Whatthe... hell?! I'd wait for Thear to pop up, he shoulda know what's going on there. I can't think of anything causing that. O_o
