wait.....so I presume the remaining Allied missions onward will probably see the Paradox Engine traveling back in time or something?

Or at the very least attempt to, only for the entire ship to explode

Otherwise I don't think so. Imo, the Allies don't have that much time to further develop their chrono technology to the point where time travel is possible.

Speaking of time, would the Paradox Engine be able to Time Freeze in Unthinkable? I'm sure the mission won't just start with a time freeze and end in the doom of the entire Epsilon bases in mere seconds

After the events of backbitten, they won't be freezing time anymore. The spare battery they had is gone.

Which will lead to the Allies conducting a full-scale attack on Antarctica.

So now I wonder what will happen to the Paradox Engine and the Allies overall?

It will be Unthinkable for the Allies to chronolift the Mental Omega Device, and plop it into the Paradox Engine, and then driving away.  :shiftee:

Allied Engineer: I hope this works like the Psychic Beacon...

...

...

...

...

...

...

Allied Intel: WE HAVE MISCALCULATED!

No, wait, I just thought of it, and now everyone who read this will think about it...

Nothing good, I'd say.

Actually, they still have the main battery which they're recharging in Cape Town. They can still use the time freeze, just not as much as they probably would have liked.

Frankly, Allies' Hamartia is probably going to be their unwillingness to have a 3-2-1 backup scheme for those batteries. Or even using batteries in the first place...

Mostly in it for the lore. Although, I do enjoy basebuilding as well.

"We can manufacture whole legions of tanks and large bases on the go, but we can't build more batteries!"

It's not your everyday phone battery, hell knows how much effort goes into making each battery. Maybe the required equipment to make one was in the Steintech hangar and now that it's out of their control, they can't build more. We did need A LOT of energy to charge that battery in Hysteria, it might be complicated to build a system to keep that much energy in the battery safely.

I have a wild guess that Hamartia mission happened after Babel. Which means the Allied remnants desperately fight their mind-controlled comrades and huge Epsilon army before the time runs out, and also the Paradox Engine possibly have been destroyed or worse, got mind-controlled.

Because if Babel is the last Act 2, then it's so predictable.

I really like the idea. The last Allied forces, defeated, but desperately trying to stave off destruction a la Starcraft II, In Utter Darkness. Hoping to triumph when it's clear everything is lost...

Reminds me of the last mission of halo reach (if anyone else has played halo). Fighting off waves of enemies untill you die.

This. Would be pretty powerful if they played it like that.

Of course the team is probably having quite a few laughs at our wild theories. :p

Especially Loval. :D

Making that kind of scenario is rather hard if the objective is similar to In Utter Darkness. But hopeless defense itself is rather easy to make.

Well, not easy, Traitorous Water had to go through a lot of testings until the AI finally doesn't derp around

I mean, in vanilla YR Einstein rigs a chronosphere into a time machine in a couple day, so...

But yeah, honestly not a fan of any idea that would bring back time travel. It just erases the entire story after the arrival point, as was the case with that which shall not be named *coughRA3cough*

So far I'm guessing that this "Last Bastion" is some kind of giant megafortress with built-in mind control immunity and ranged weapon defense (hey, just turned the signal inhibitor into a plot device) that serves as a safe haven while the entire rest of the world, aside from roaming Foehn forces, is Yuri's. Maybe the paradox engine ties into that or whatever the hell Coronia is.

Actually I think the third Foehn Origin has a good chance of being the last mission kind of like how Singularity set up Epsilon coming back bigger and badder than before.

I'm guessing Foehn Origins will set up a few important plot points:
- Who is involved in the Revolt and what is their current manpower.
- How did Yunru and Rashidi get to Alaska?
- The Conscious Slumber

I have a feeling Hamartia would essentially be reversal of RA2's Polar Storm and/or a toned down and remade Aegis Impervious from 2.0 if that's the case

Oh yeah, then Hamartia happened after Babel and last Foehn Origin could be the very last Act 2 mission or happened simultaneously with Hamartia.

We got our first preview of Meltdown, which is the mission before Earthrise.

It looks like the Soviets discovered one of possibly many rockets from Earth to the Nazi Epsilon Base on the dark side of the moon. My prediction is that the Soviets will hijack the rockets or maybe find the coordinates of the base to hunt Yuri down.

I wonder why it's called "Meltdown" though...I assumed it was nuclear-related but maybe not.

Given the fact, that the Soviets will land on Moon in the "Earthrise", it's pretty obvious that they will try(and succed) to hijack, or rather, reclaim their rockets. It's curious however, how can they still spare elite taskforce to fly to the Moon, if the alliance with Chinese is broken, and half of their army is brainwashed?
