Well I downloaded WinCDEmu, and got it all set up.

Then I downloaded the BFME 2.iso from the main on the game install guide.

From there I went and mounted the BFME 2.iso and went dow to the Autorun.EXE to download it.

I had it sent to Electronic Arts and its under its own folder, Battle for middle earth II ™.

I generated a Key so I could get through the download with the Key gen.

And instead of the mini images, I downloaded and then replaced the Game.dat file into my BFME 2 Folder.

Then I went in and downloaded the patches that, 1.06 and 1.09.

I Downloaded and put the HD file in there too.

Then I tried to run it and get DVD-ROM or CD-ROM is not correct, Select okay and restart.

That is all I did.

I just want to be able to get the game to work so I can play BFME 2 Haha,

But I am running Windows 10... BUT my PC does not have any CD slots, it all has to be done VIA online downloads, So the CD and DVD ROM stuff has me like... Uhhh

Thanks for that, could you please replace the game.dat again now after applying the patches?

Then it will work.

There's probably the options.ini missing, see https://forums.revor...tion-read-this/

A screenshot will do in general.

There are many .ini problems like this here in the subforum. Please have a look.

Did you check your options.ini as I asked you to above?

Okay Since I have messaged mainly here, After looking I tried to pull the file out of %appdata% like I saw a post suggesting, did not work so i moved it back. Then I decided cause I saw earlier to test each version. So I tested 1.00. It worked and the game turned on. Tried 1.06, Instead of the massive error message I got, DVD-ROM / CD-ROM Incorrect yet again. same with 1.09

Did you actually install patch 1.06 followed by patch 1.09? You have to do that before trying any patch switcher. Also make sure to run in win xp sp3 compability mode and as admin.

Yes I did actaully install patch 1.06 and then 1.09, Wait... If I did 1.09 first would I have the patch switcher? Because if not than so I did that wrong... but If not Than I did it right with 1.06 than 1.09. I also changed it to Win Xp SP3 and ran as a admin and that did not work.

Something appears to be messed up. I'd suggest uninstalling everything and also manually delete all remaining files from the game directroy and the %appdata% directory, also uninstall the launcher and patches, then re-install from the beginning following the guide here, ignore step 5 and apply the new game.dat at the very end.

Okay I went down exactally through the order after uninstalling everything. Started fresh, And got the game, patches, the patch switcher all installed. Started on 1.00 and It worked, Switched back to 1.06 and it still did not work. I followed what the website told me to do, and I made sure to set up the Game.dat after I had everything installed and set up. Once again got DVD-ROM uncorrect.

That's impossible if you replaced the game.dat. Are you sure you clicked to overwrite the existing file?

Even to make sure, I straight up deleted the old game.dat file and then put the new one in

I'm not sure you can use the patch switcher for this, it might overwrite the game.dat. Replace the game.dat (are you replacing the bfme2 game.dat and not by accident the one for bfme1?) and immediately start the game without using the switcher. Does this work? And always run as admin and in xp sp3 compatibility mode. Is the installation disc un-mounted?

Are you really following our guide here in the forum? Use the new 2.02 game.dat of rotwk.

Yes I swear I am following it. I followed it down.

I downloaded the ISO and made sure BFME 2 was in 1.06

Than I installed RoTWK and used the Key Gen

I skipped step 6 and just installed patch 2.02

But ended up with the DVD-ROM
