And where did you download the new game.dat for 2.02 and replace it? You also have to do that!

I downloaded it from the same place I downloaded 2.02 and replaced it twice now. I uninstalled though and started over and now I seem to have a whole new issue but does not seem to be DVD_ROM now...

Nvm Found my mistake. I Uninstalled and re installed and it seems to be working now, The mistake I had just now was due to BFME 2 not being in 1.06

downloaded patch and online launcher fine, but when i go on the game and click online it still takes me to the ea stuff, could be something daft

For BFME2 just enter the server account in the EA fields.

I am trying to install the base games BFME 2 and ROTWK to ultimately play with the Age of the Ring mod with a buddy of mine. It all seems to work until I try to install T3Aonline. I thought I made a mistake so I uninstalled everything and today I retried.

Even by following the installation process step by step I still get the error when installing the T3Aonline launcher telling me that it "Could not write value Debugger to key...". I found posts saying it is the antivirus but even when disabled there was no change and I am the administrator and also checked the run as administrator box in properties. I am also using the recommended versions 1.09 and 2.02 with the patch-switcher. I cannot find any other causes for this error.

I am using windows 10 by the way.

Something is not running as admin it seems from the error message, either the game or the launcher probably. Or your antivir is interfering.

I tried antivirus off and there are no other programs that should prevent me from accessing files. I am administrator but still went and checked all the games and made sure that the installer is executed as admin as well. I even went into the registry to check permissions and as far as I can see I have all those I could possibly need. Still nothing though. Is there anything else I can do or a way to find out what is interfering that I'm not seeing?

Yes I haven't had any problems so far. The games seem to work just fine but when it comes to the t3aonline installation it just refuses to work

Can you call the installer from the commandline?

msiexec /i installer.exe /l*v "log.txt"

and post the contents in log.txt

Replace installer.exe with the name of the installer file.

So I am able to get the game to work fine, however BFME2 and ROTWK both are not working with widescreen. I downloaded a widescreen mod and uploaded it to my program folder but it isn't working. Any advice? Or am I supposed to be using the normal screen mode?

Hi, Im trying to play without the CD and keep getting the insert CD and restart error.  I downloaded the new game.dat file but dont know where to put it.  Can someone show me a screen shot of where to put that file?  Also I was only able to download the 1.09 patch not the 1.06 patch.  Is that ok or do you need both?  The 1.06 patch link does not work for English.

You need to install patch 1.06 first. The game.dat file needs to replaced at the very end, usually it is in C: -> Program Files -> EA -> BFME2

Did you adjust your resolution in your options.ini file?

 

It's set to the correct Resolution, (1920x1080) which is technically widescreen, however the game is "cut off" on both sides and resolution is kind of crammed in there.

I think i did the game.dat thing I found a game.dat form 2006 in the files and I assume that is the one I delete and I pasted the new game.dat in its place.  I can load up the game on the 1.0 patch but still cant with the 1.06 or 1.09.   Again I have downloaded 1.09 but I cant get 1.06 the link is broke for English download and the other one tries to get me to log into my google account for some reason.  Please help.  Can you post a link to the 1.06 that works?  You said I need to have both 1.06 and 1.09 downloaded right?

Can someone post a 1.06 patch link that works for english?  The one posted on the first page doesnt work and the other one tries to get you to login to your google account for some reason.
