+125 GYROS!? Well there's your problem x'D Sounds like a great game.

Yah it was pretty good. And it wasn't like he had one single group of 125+ gyrocopters. It was over the course of the match, before he quit (he said he had to go... XD), he would always have two giant groups of 50+ Gyrocopters positioned at both sides of his base, plus more in the background. He was constantly making those little whirlybird bastards!

Oh yes, and regarding Rocketeers, I have encountered a similar match as the one with the Gyrocopters, only this time it was Rocketeers. I had to spam the shit out of flak tracks and troops, plus Flak cannons at my base, just to stem the tide of at least 75 Rocketeers. I literally won the match by constantly churning out conscripts & flak troops, plus Rhinos and Tsivil's. I flooded the map with basic tier units. Throw in some V3s and Wolfhounds, and GG!

Have the superweapons for the fourth faction been decided? If not, I might have a usable idea or two.

  • Offensive superweapons:
    1. Black Hole - Insta-kill on infantry, aircrafts and T1 ground/naval units (except for harvesters) within the BH's range, gradual damage to T2-T3 ground/naval units and buildings.
    2. Meteorite -
      1. Drops a single huge meteorite onto the targeted area for massive damage.
      2. OR drops many small meteorites that set the ground in the targeted area on fire
    3. Gravity anomaly - Momentarily increase gravity in the targeted area. Insta-kill on infantry and flying aircrafts. Everything else just takes a lot of damage.
  • Support superweapons:
    1. Defense grid hack - All defensive structures in the affected area lose their IFF for a short time and attack anything in their range, while also gaining increased damage and rate of fire.
    2. Repair nanomachines - restores ground units and cyborg infantry in the area of effect to full health a fixed amount of health and additionally gives them short-lived but powerful self-repair.
    3. Wormhole - Creates a temporarily passage between two chosen locations. Any unit of 12-or-less passanger slots in size can use this passage in any direction.
    4. And as a kind-of-joke Fake SW - Appears as random offensive superweapon (from other 3 sides?) with random owner for other players; upon activation, generates secondary audio and visual effects of the 'chosen' superweapon.

If most people think "spamming one good unit to victory" is lame, how about putting a limit to how many you can create for each unit/infantry? Like, 20 maybe..?

It would then encourage people to use multiple units (plus more micromanaging?). But it may discourage people to play again if they already used to just spam one unit tho.

Or make it a gamemode so that those who want to avoid spammy type of players will play on this gamemode, and everyone will be happy.

The problem isn't with unit spam but one particular unit being more efficient than it should be, prompting it to be used way more than anything else and overshadowing other roles.

Every unit has a counter which makes it redundant to spam but some units are effective enough to beat that counter or otherwise enable the player to win more easily.

I'm not saying that spamming x unit will automatically make any player win, but some units being more efficient than they should be would give the player an unfair edge throughout the match, which would put the game in their favour.

So it should be re-balanced then..? Although I think people will just find another unit that might be more efficient if their previous choice got nerfed and go all spamming cycle again...

I just feel bad for the artists who made all the units but they end up not being used by players. *just my feeling toward these one-unit spam.

Its not a huge balance issue, but some minor tweaks would actually make a difference between win or lose in some circumstances.

Losing vital ground or a force of troops could set someone back and put them on backfooting for the rest of the match because a force of unnecessarily powerful units had better stats than their opponents force (not saying that anyone player can just grab a mix of units and be unbeatable but two equally skilled opponents versing each other; the one with the statistically better troops is more likely to win that engagement)

My case is less about unit spam though because they can often be hard countered anyway, but more just about units being too effective.

And yeah I agree with your last paragraph lol, but sometimes I would sometimes just use factions that weren't being used very often despite knowing little how to use them, for the sake of playing with their troops again.

So Wings of Coronia. Anyone can probably find references to this name? All I could find was an old ship with the name "Coronia", a passenger ship that served in WW2.

The flag and the name sounds like an imperialist faction, rather than soviet/epsilon splintered forces or big corporations.

If this isn't some alternated universe crossing, time travel, alien or Atlantis nonsenses then it would be amazing.

It definitely got a "regal" sound to it.

Who knows, maybe it is India. :p

Judging by the Faction icon we already know fo a while and the loading screen, I would not be surprised if in this timeline, the ship Coronia was a scientific experiment that got out of hand.

Well, do you remember the first Chronosphere experiment in the RA timeline? It is based on an actual real-life mystery: It was about a ship that Einstein apparently did an experiment on. The ship mysteriously vanished, then reappeared elsewhere, but without any passengers on board. IRL, this experiment was deemed a failure and a hoax and there's some real shady history behind it. Here it is on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia...phia_Experiment- I suggest a reading, as it got some interesting stuff in it.

If I remember right, in the RA universe, this experiment was a success, and led to the development of the Chronosphere. Who knows, maybe Einstein's secret game both Seigfried and K.I has worked on holds more secrets than we know...

Maybe they are the a bunch of scientists that went insane and turned into a bunch of imperialistic feudalist madmen that are inside an artificial hurricane.

From an earlier post.

Okay at this point given what has been shown in the play through and this screen shot we know 3 things for sure about this 4th faction.

1. 4th faction is to the allies what epsilon is to the soviets. (A lot of hints to this in the play through.) Right down to a sorta color theme.

2.This faction is not made up of any of the sub-factions for the other sides. As far as we know both in vanilla game and mental omega no one knew what yuri was really up to but this screen shot of the first mission of this faction shows they knew something. (that is if this mission happens around the the same time of the other act one first missions)

3. It is most likely India or at least  India is very friendly to them. (which makes since if mental omega is keeping to the lore of both red alert 1 and 2)

This above this seemed true at the time and I am more sure of it now than ever before; now that we know the name of one the sub-factions is Wings of Coronia for the forth faction (code named Megalodon for now). That sub faction name would make no since if the faction was just a splinter faction make up of China and Pacific Front, and with the science reference of the name I can at least say of maybe K.I. involvement but I'm not sure as to how or if at all really.

If the leader of the faction has a case of chuunibyou, then the names are all feasible. Side 4's engineering department just happened to make them more realistic and menacing.

Expect charming knights in future armor and cavalry. :p

No, I am not implying Speeder had a case of... oh good lord, Speeder, pls don't kill me...

Actually, my second guess was that "Wings of Coronia" sounds not just very regal, but also like a very nerdy superhero team.

Also, thanks MIDAS, now I'm imagining that the token female hero of Side 4 is actually Rikka. :V

Btw, first named unit of Side4 here: http://www.moddb.com...atorn-skyguard (Try reading that little text on the image, they are hilarious.) The filename is f_teratorn, which is almost like "all" "sov" and "eps", so maybe Foehn is still their legit name.

You know, is there a way to get hold of these models? While I'm no modeler, I can build 3D maps and sceneries, and I could probably add some basic animations to these models and make a few TD/RA1 style short action videos between missions.

How about a special structure (similar to the Cloning Vats and Industrial Plant) for the fourth side call the Hard Light Vehicle Duplication Center that "clones"  vehicles with Hard Light making them weaker than the original but with the same firepower to match them.

Speaking of T3 Economical buildings how about a building that decreases the cost of buildings and defenses.

Or maybe a T3 Eco building that increases the health cap of infantry/units and heals infantry, units and buildings a possible addition for side 4.

Is it me, or the flag looks like a Kamehameha. :V

Hmm yeah. I wonder if in Act 2, the Allies actually get transformed into this. Also do note that this exact region (as in, the bridge between Alaska and Russia) is where the Chronosphere was built in one of the original RA2 missions (I think Allied? Not sure.)

This connects it to K.I./Steinstech again. I'm more and more sure that Side 4 IS connected to Einstein's riddle.
