Yeah, I personally couldn't pass the first part either. Getting to the base is easy, but then so many attacks, they just faceroll my entire army. Hope with save/load, I can just reload to that part of the mission and trying over and over until I succeed.

Huh, I didn't have that much trouble with the first part (I was also playing on Easy). I just try to keep most of my initial army and chip the enemy base carefully until they RQ their beacon. Then I capped the oils (but leaves only handful of troops there) and build additional army with all my resources.

Is it just me or is the Allied Mission Relentless, really just relentlessly insane?
After capturing the Pacific Front outpost, I end up getting rushed and getting eaten alive by Scorpion Cell troops. Especially their dang Masterminds and Epilson adepts and (presumably) Epsilon Elites taking control of my soldiers. It's insane how fast things can go south in a mission when you're not prepared. Is there any way to finish the first part without getting overrun? I can't even begin to deal with this. Totally not used to a massive rush like this.......holy cow......that was madness to say the least.......
Which difficulty did you play Relentless in?
Well, for me, I played in Easy. I failed the first few tries too, but then I organized my forces into numbered teams and then send them rushing into the outpost, with the tanky units and infantries in front and Prism Tanks behind.
I've managed to clear the initial enemies without much problems, and then I immediately reorganized my forces into a defense position. It worked for me.
Then I played the mission casually afterwards when my MCV got teleported.
Also played this mission on Easy.....how is this even easy when the enemy throws everything at you?

Am I the only one who thinks the lightning in Heartwork is way too dark?
I seriously can't see almost anything but rain and some special effects (inc veterancy), which makes the mission of stopping the cyborg nigh impossible for me (I can bearly see a Qilin, how am I suppose to see a Cyborg?).

The mission gets darker by the minute, that's the point.
Well that explains a lot, I've reached to a situation I almost see nothing, which made to whole endavour almost impossible operate.
What is the time limit before it becomes too dark? it seems like a little after the Sabetour part it darkens very fast...

Yeah, Relentless is already one of the hardest MO missions after Singularity and Thread of Dread.
For not to get overrun by Scorpion Cell forces concentrate your forces into defensive positions equally on the south and west as was said. Don't forget to train some Guardian GI's as the enemy also attacks from the air. Place them close to your structures as they may get killed by Plague splatters very at the beginning if they are too far or undeployed.
The key to not to get overrun is to use chronoshifted units properly. Place at least two Mirages on the southern and northern hills for splatters, then wait for enemy to appear and then chronoshift some Robot tanks to destroy elites, clones.
As for the later part: Immediately destroy Psychic Dominators with Barracudas and Black Widow as getting double baseraped in every 5 mins or so can be hard. After you get your foothold in the new base, it is easy to figure out what to do.
Note: It is a long mission, even in easy, so try not to lose your Paladins, as they can be really helpful later.

But that won't explain the missions gets insanely hard over time lol

If advices are given about managing zerg-rushing AIs, can I ask some about Moonlight? I managed to andle that phase of Relentless by massing the troops inside the base, and launching small forces to crush the siege units and the likes, although the Technical Silos were a nasty srprise after that.
But in Moonlight, even when I manage to capture the entire base around the first launch-pad, and the launch-pad itself, I'm getting always slowly overwhelmed and ends up losing all the base, bits by bits, even in Easy. Anything I could do?

I guess, but art of the problem is surviving the multiple attacks while I'm taking control of the base until I can even produce some Wolfhounds, without talking about mass-producing them (and I'll admit the idea of facing the reinforcements seems rather seductive to me).

try not to capture the launching facility at the beginning, this could delay some enemy reinforcements

Yeah definitely capture the base first, but not the launch pad until you built yourself up.

before the time runs out.
Why would you want to do that before the time runs out? The Russians practically give you stuff when the time runs out. I mean, are you Yuri's proselyte or not?

Wait, you don't lose instantly when the time runs out? Shit, the last time I played the mission, I was almost out of time, and quit instead.

No, but I agree that the timer feels really dangerous considering all the timer objectives we've been having

Okay I played Relentless on easy (first try then normal later) and I got the same experience of the lads of those crazy steamrolling attacks. I just like we can't get a breather or something as the "relentless" attacks is keeping the player too preoccupied that it is impossible to quickly building up forces and your current forces are slowly being cut down by the wave after wave of attacks. Although in my run, I had to "attack" first before they even try.
Not complaining though, but this is kinda unhealthy if the player is giving too much of a challenge if the AI is just spawning without some sort of "delay" per attack.

Like what he said, this is insanity that we have to be steamrolled every few minutes or so. (Although one can probably hide behind the bases' defenses and let them go to work, although players may not know that.

the problem is that you can't build any defenses aside from capturing the tech defenses in the liberated Allied Base. The only thing you can do is calling for reinforcements (tanks) and train infantry, but the constant waves with almost no delays is the main problem.
which one of probable tactics is "strike first before they strike you hard"
