Take note of the magnifying glass in the Shock Trooper's cameo. Not only does it look like a Tesla Trooper, but it also has its detection ability. Probably a unique variant, like how the Eradicator replaces the Desolator for China.

 

Don't see any real reason for Shock Trooper to be added to the game.
What difference will it make? What gameplay impact will it actually have?

Seems like adding things because scrubs complained about there not being a unique thing for no reason. zzz.

As for the Ruiner, seems to be an infantry-disabler similar to a Raccoon, looking at the picture. If it disables heroes then already this thing is crazy useful, else its just meh.

Try Generals: Shockwave mod. It is proof by itself that a huge variety of units, if properly done, can be awesome.

Besides, Russia is the last sub I'd expect to receive *any* additions. They're already far too easy and powerful to begin with.

Well, then I'm assuming there will be a nerf coming for our ruskies. And a big un'. And hopefully foehn gets slapped around with the nerf bat a couple times, and buffed in others. Kinda hoping for some unit reworks.

Why not the Latin confederation? For a faction that uses a lot of old soviet tech, the shock trooper would fit right at home with them and besides they always felt like the infantry focused soviet where the other two are more vehicle focused. It would also fit how they feel in my opinion.

That is... logical. But Russia is the Teslaboo faction, so it would also make sense if they got the special snowflake Tesla Trooper. Also Russia is the one that has no unique infantry yet.

They're not that... infantry focused. They're just the subversive guys in Soviet, but they're still tank-centric (Cata spam lul)

Honestly, there isnt much you could do to nerf russia. Everything that faction has is an A-move wonder will little depth. The closest that have to a unique interaction is the stalin's fist, and that scuds can be shot down.

Scuds are still by far the strongest artillery you can have though. In theory, yes their missiles can be intercepted, but the reality is that the trajectory of the missiles are far too high to shoot from the ground and too fast to intercept before they drop down, hard. On top of that they have one of the longest ranged arties. 5 of them shoot at once, and if you have no AoE AA like Sentinels, one or two will always get hit.

People also forget the fact that while they don't have unique infantry, they do have unique artillery ship.

True but than again they are okay with out a real unique infantry because they have some many ways of playing with there tanks and helos but the Latins don't have many ways of playing as the are more subversive and struggle in most cases when taken out of that element.

That is true but than again there are already two soviets who like to tank spam already so it would work to also make them more infantry focus as a way to differ them from the other two

Isn't this reason enough? Russia's units tend to be "thematically dry, statistically powerful." If Russia was a house, it would be a concrete floor with no walls or roof, because Russia's overall power doesn't have that many interesting variations. They're just generally strong all the time. 

 

 

HQ can abuse infantry by combining brute rush with Rahn, Stalker, and Barrier. So HQ is a zombie apocalypse that gets stronger if you carelessly lose infantry.

 

Haihead has Syncronins that weakens their army against units, but makes them extremely dangerous against buildings. 

 

 

Maybe shock troopers can introduce some meaningful weakness to Russia, while giving them some particular specialization.

Is it possible to gain access to China's "Tan" color soon? It would make a fine addition to the colors we can pick.

Is a morale mechanic possible? Or is it even possible to code it in to the engine?

I remember a code in which civilians would run around aimlessly in a panicked manner. I think the code was either "Cowardly" or "Coward". Not necessarily it but it is in spirit.

Maybe a unit that can be devised that uses fear gas or terror rays that causes a panicked disorder throughout the opponent's ranks. On that note...

==Terror Crebain==

Requires: Special Mercenary Services Camp (Neutral Structure) or Tech Secret Lab

Cost: 1300

Armour: Light

HP: 125 / 50 (dummy)

Speed: 7

Equipment: Terror Raygun / Fear Gas Dummies (deployed)

Range: 8 / 12 (deployed radius)

Role: Unit Disruption and Driver Removal, Terror, Area Denial

Description: Mercenaries that dress up as scarecrows. They are armed with Terror Rayguns that cause fear (the target will run around aimlessly and be unable to fire) in units and will eventually result in death by heart attack (uses a delayed death mechanic that can also affect vehicle drivers). They can also deploy dummies that leak out fear gas that also does the same job, only as a static defense for area denial.

Confusion ray already cause a lot worse panic attack though, I guess you're aiming for a much lesser effect?

Is it possible to gain access to China's "Tan" color soon? It would make a fine addition to the colors we can pick.

It was in the game in 3.0 I believe, but the color just blends *too* well in the minimap with Temperate terrains

It isn't hard to see in Red Resurrection (its named "Rust" in that mod).

None that I am aware of. Their maps and "graphics"(?) seem...cartoonish and less refined, compared to Mental Omega. Perhaps that is what makes it easier to see.

Mental Omega is and looks better.

Ok lets talk about russia. They are getting a new sock trooper, im going to guess, so lets assume that is going to be buffed. Lets assume that the new shock trooper is going to hit at tier 3, and that Russia loses its earlier shock trooper? 

 

How could this faction be nerfed:

- Slowing down scud missiles would be a pretty damn big nerf. 

-wolfhounds are already kinda manageable, but by far the strongest flying helicopter type unit outside of WoC i think they are fine, IMO. 

-Maybe if tesla cruiser loses EMP effect, which gets moved to shock trooper.
