I was referring to weak suicide units... or very specialized one.

 

Dybbuk-Crasher is very powerful, but also specialized in siege.

 

I copy the relevant information here for you.

 

Feel free to speak out your mind.

 

Dybbuk-Crasher (new pad airplane, unlocked by Chem/Psych/Gene plug, suicide crash against buildings, Damage 250 ~ 162.5 [250 = a Barracuda], Radius 6 = 3.3.4’s Wallbuster Missile)

 

Dybbuk-Crasher (zj 1.0.8)

In previous versions, I introduced this brand new kind of kamikaze airplane to replace Blackout Missile.

Now I redesign it as the most powerful siege aircraft, combining Barracuda’s damage and Wallbuster Missile’s range. On the other hand, it’s quite costly, given that it’s a one-off.

When being shot down, Dybbuk-C ONLY causes splash damage like other airplanes.

His/Her quotes I recommend:

When selected:

  • We crash into each other, just so we can feel something. (“Crash” by Paul Haggis)

Wow ok, a barracuda-damage with the radius of a wallbuster? That is going from niche to overpowered real quick

So let's talk about barracuda damage. Barracudas have the ability to oneshot conyards given the number (I'd say 6 or 8?), and 4 is enough to blow anything else with a single run. This is the damage of at least 1-2 cells radius

Now I should reclarify that in Red Alert 2 and Tibsun's engine, each cell within the radius is given damage. For buildings with more than 1 cell, each space it occupies take damage, making large buildings take much more damage against attacks with AoE.

Now if you didn't disable it using Ares' logic to prevent it, let's say the average of the damage is 175. That means one single strike on the conyard would easily be.. 175 * 16 cells, a whopping 2800 damage, before damage multiplier is applied! And that's just *one* aircraft.

And while we get to the technical standpoint, have you even checked that suicide weapon works on jets? Jets are kind of a different class than other vehicles like kirovs and tanks.

PS : also, still sounding like this is an idea for a completely new mod

As I emphasized in the PREFACE, “I’m not proficient in setting stats for MO. Please forgive me that I omit most of numerical discussions. And all the values I set need rethinking. (Of course, stats is important for any game, not to mention for this one.)”

 

Game engine and coding are beyond my abilities and interests.

Does suicide weapon work on jets? I guess so.

 

Thanks for telling me “For buildings with more than 1 cell, each space it occupies take damage, making large buildings take much more damage against attacks with AoE”. Therefore Dybbuk-Crasher needs new stats.

 

Nevertheless, the idea that Epsilon needs a T3 powerful kamikaze siege jet is both imaginative and sound as ever.

 

How about you designing the stats for Dybbuk-Crasher? @Handepsilon

Unfortunately I'll have to decline. As others have probably already iterated before, tweaking an already existing unit is far easier than just popping new ones in, especially when balance comes in mind, and even then you still have to account its' new stats with other units.

 

With that in mind, creating and replacing even *one* unit will become a daunting task for devs to balance out, and for players to readjust their strategies with the new status quo. Remember that it's not just slapping unit in and be done with it. You also gotta think with how they will be countered, how they interact with certain unit compositions, and deal with other composition. That means for each units you bring in, you also gotta rethink of all the other units.

 

I mean, that's my guess at least. I'm not the mod's dev, and I only have my experience with RenX to say anything.

 

That's why I've said this before and say this again : If you're just going to revamp the whole roster, you might as well just create a whole new mod for it.

I have some ideas for the Navies of the Soviets and Foehn that involve...

 

Killer whales that move slowly/ponderously and can instantly kill ships by leaping in the air and landing on them in melee range. Naturally submerged and organic so Tech Hospitals can heal them like Dolphins and Giant Squids.

 

And for the Revolt bio-engineered sharks that act like organic submerged terror drones dedicated to causing havoc among wet water naval units. Can shred amphibious infantry by pouncing on them.

 

I am also thinking of an amphibious Mobile Naval Yard that I can't decide which faction would benefit the most from. Either Allies or Foehn. Or just make it an exclusive secret tech unit to give Neutral Tech Labs some much needed love.

I suggest Charon tanks have a sort of function wherein they can't fire at the same unit, in order to not waste its ammo.

Whenson suggest to make its primary weapon a targeting dummy weapon and the neutron cannon as secondary, then they won't fire at the same target

If there might be any better solutions, it would be great aswell.

Should Scorpion Cell get a flying Gatling Trooper that has the same combat logic of the Gatling Tank but dies to the most weakest of attacks especially when it is at full auto with its minigun. Does calling it a Baal sound good?

There is such units in the game but they are not have to be a unique like GI, GGI, SEAL, Robot Tank and etc. are supposed to be US unique but no.

No. Putting aside the difficulty of coming up with new themes, technologies, and unit concepts for them, how would you fit new Allied, Soviet, and Epsilon subfactions in the existing story? Where would you place them geographically?

No. Putting aside the difficulty of coming up with new themes, technologies, and unit concepts for them, how would you fit new Allied, Soviet, and Epsilon subfactions in the existing story? Where would you place them geographically?

 

That is a good conundrum to consider. I could give it a shot. For one possible new Allied subfaction one would be a Free World Junta consisting of expiates and nationalist rebels from communist controlled lands being geographically situated with its main HQ in Brazil/Rural parts of China and South America. Technologically they would rely on hand me downs of old Allied technology like the Minas Geraes (a weaker allied battleship that can do AA) and the Pracina. Story-wise they can contest the Latin Confederation and China's control of their countries. Another option for an Allied subfaction can be Colonia Incorporated that has geographic influence over colonies (de jure and de facto) around the world mostly in Africa and the Indian subcontinent. Thematically corporate and imperialistic to justify the Soviet accusations against the Allies. They would rely on being the Horde for the Allies since they have the mass manpower of those two regions. They can have AT capable elephants from their infantry barracks.

 

For a possible Soviet subfaction maybe a collaborationist/puppet state subfaction that re-purposes Allied technology and personnel in accordance to Soviet military and ideological doctrine in former Allied territory that leads the to be a disposable Horde. Maybe called them euphemistically the United Nations. The another subfaction can be the Phoenician Brotherhood consisting of West Asian and North African nations that historically had the Phoenician people as a spiritual successor to Libya and Iraq vanilla faction from RA2. Technologically advanced for the Soviets to a decadent degree they have luxurious flying fortresses called Semiramis that sends nerve gas against the enemy and the Merkava as a monster tank that can carry 5 infantry into battle in comfort and high survivability with main battle tanks called Camels that can shoot the enemy before they can get a chance to hit back.

 

For Epsilon and Foehn I can't think of any good factions.

 

If the new subfactions can't be implement in anyway out of lore/gameplay/development reasons that is fine. Forum ideas can be freely welcomed and implemented or freely ignored.

Another shitty idea;
Make Morales able to depilot T3 vehicles too but how?
T1 will be able to depiloted under %99 health.
T2 will be able to depiloted under %66 health. (Yes not one shoot in most T2 units because I thought depiloting armos and other mighty units with one shoot is unfair.)
T3 will be able to depiloted under %33 health.
