Excellent!!!

The idea of a Necron mod intrigues me deeply.

 

Brother Norwegian_Loki, please have a look in UA for more assets and ideas :thumbsupcool:

Also the Colouring will not be... "Naming", right???

I mean that each Dynasty branch choice will NOT be named "Blue" or "Red", but each will have a distinct name based on fluff!

 

By the way, I would suggest the Tesla weapons to have a "greenish" hue, and not be totally red or blue or whatever, just a shading.

 

Otherwise the idea is SUPER.

I might name them Blueberry and Ketchup just to help me keep track of them until all the colour edits are done.  :p  Keep in mind that all dynasties will have their own name in the "choose a faction" button at the start based on fluff. Brother Roderick gave me a list of names based on fluff colours.

 

I have already started "robbing" UA and mike's Necron. I had a look at Echo of Heresy, but that group is so shady, I think I will stay away from it. You download a cracked version of the full SS game with the mod for starters. Sounds use warcraft 3, starcraft 2 and other sounds. Units are clearly taken from other mods without permission. They claim to be the original creators of the BT mod, so maybe new models from them in the future.

 

Here is an explanation for the new Dynasties:

  • No power ranger naming, but the Dynasty button will have a colour in the icon to make sure you know what colour you get.
  • Every Dynasty will have it's own skins. So the units will look different even though they use same models for some of them. So a green glowing Necron will look different even if he use the same colours as f.eks red glowing.
  • My green Necrons use a skin that allows badges on their shoulders, but red will get something else. So you still decide what colours you want for your army, but the glow and skin is different for each.
  • I will make a new FX for every Dynasty, so it's more than simple glow. Green will be fog like, blue electric, red will be more steam like, and so on.

So this will be more than a simple glow recolour project :laugh: . I really want this to feel like a new race. The teal Necrons will just be a simple recolouring, so that part will hold true.  :grin:

Thanks. I am glad you like it. It's been a main focus for a while now.  :thumbsuphappy: The only reason I have published so much stuff is because they where already in a near publish state before I joined here. :thumbsupcool:

That is the plan, but so far I have only made a simple skeleton with the Sexy Necron Mod and experimented with new fx. I will use race-changer to turn it into a new race, then add a profile to the Freeui. I was hoping to first make SN edit of the unification Necrons so it follow the same system as the rest of the unification races, but I have not gotten that far yet. :)

Damnatus was a commercial wh40k film from 2006, made in Germany! Time has not been kind to this film, but they made their own music. Or musicians from around the world contributed to it. Not sure. :mellowthumbsup:  They had a DL for the music on their web page, but it, and many others links has been lost to time. Brother Fuggles asked for it, and through some extensive searching I found a nice Heretic gal who was willing to torrent it for me. :p For the small price of my firstborn soul, and a pack of gum.

It's just a bunch of "new" models slapped on vanilla imp. Several new and original models from a old winter assault mod.

 

They are a skinning project I have been using to experiment on new techniques with. These come with their crappy vanilla skins however. They look like crap, but have potential for anyone with decent skinning skills. So I will share here for everyone to use as they see fit. I hope to one day make some decent skins for them, but for now I think they would be a good challenge for anyone who wants to make skins.

 

Also several unfinished Grey Knights models and one new building. They are available in SM army painter for the curious among you guys.

What you get:

  1. New Cadian Imp units.
  2. New unanimated Cadian vehicles.
  3. My Edited "Cyborg Ogryn" experiment. It is still unfinished, but feel free to use it.
  4. New planes. The second plane is a vulture, but not shown in the painter.
  5. New Cadian Buildings.

This is models that need a severe overhaul, and a new paint job, but maybe some of you find use for them.    :thumbsupxd:

Naughty Eldar Mod!

New re-skinned Dark Eldar with tons of fun stuff to make everything look better. This is an early version,  so no new units yet.

 

What you get:

  • New FX, Icons, Effects and Taskbar.
  • New HD skins, with shiny effects where it fits.
  • New Glowing effects and smoke from buildings.
  • New animations.
  • More codex appearance without sacrificing TC

To be added later:

  • New Dark Eldar themed Banshee, Harlequin and Lady of Pain Leader.

Where's that veteran skin (white helmet) for the Deathwatch veterans of the IDH? I've seen the picture but not the link. I was going to do by myself but I think it's a waste of time.

 

How do you usually combine/apply any reskin/cosmetic mod in the Unification module? I mean, which is the order? I say so because you have to be aware that, while skins are harmless, if you use any different model to replace the original (such as the randomized orks) you are replacing the AE files, and there's a chance of replacing any Bugfix edition of that rgd file. For the orks I think this is not the case because they are not affected. In short, be aware of any AE file you use and try to use the Bugfix rgd file instead of the original to preserve the balance tweaks in case of replacing models.

 

I am going to upload in my abandoned thread a new skin and teamcolours for the Marines, it would be nice to bundle the white helmeted Deathwatch to patch as well the IDH.

All my DL are on the first post. You find those skins under the Flavour pack. I usually just create my skins in a separate mod, then have it loaded before all the mandatory files. Like bugfix, OP, and freeui. You also have to load it before any race mod you edit. In this case before the IDH. Or else the vanilla Deathwatch will load.

 

I am creating a reskin for every race. So if you want we can cooperate. I do not have any SM mod ready yet, but I have ton's of skins, models, fx and other fun stuff. Just tell me if there is anything you want. I can also create icons, ui and other art stuff if you have any request.

I will need your skill for icons in the future, be assured. The vanilla SMs and probably the vanilla CSM can be put in the kind of flavouring you're doing. I've made many teamcolours for them both getting the existing ones in many mods and those who wasn't (either forgotten or very recent). Given the fact that eventually each chapter or legion will have its own thing, it is reasonable to assume that you need to remove them to avoid colliding names and the same scheme into two armies.

 

An idea of mine to solve that is to store the teamcolours into different subfolders which should be easily removed by the user in case they don't want there. I need to be this and then upload the thing.

 

I have planned some new reskins for BA, DA and Salamanders but they have been delayed because they're a cosmetic thing and very optional.

Well, my new Unification "Expansion" will feature more than just new skins to make the vanilla races better suited for bigger army fights, and more balanced against other non vanilla races.  I also have a few other surprises lurking in the dark corners of my hardrive. Sadly I have so little time these days, so I have to prioritise what to focus on. But don't hesitate to ask if you need anything. I will see what I can do, and art stuff I have more time for, since I can do that even outside of my gaming pc.  :thumbsuphappy:

 

I like your idea. Seems like a good way to do it. I have the same concept with my "flavour pack's", but mine is simply the combiner method. Should be easy to both add and remove what I have given so far. Feel free to "loot" my mods if there is anything you want there. I do not mind at all. :cool:

 

I love your reskins, and would be exited to see anything you cook up. Good luck with all your work!  :w00t:
