Make sure you installed all parts in order. In same folder. And run comm2p.exe instead of comm2.exe Some missions like EX8 must play with comm2p

In EX7 you have to rush to attack the driver of the truck, you can steal the uniform and get in with car. To cross minefield you have to use dog, he can detect mines.

 

Between not finding anymore exciting mission and real life, I only played old missions for a long time.
 
Then my computer broke and I gathered the courage to install new updates.
 
Used to play 2.0
 
 
 
Now I upgraded and install until 2.5. Difficulty set on Very Hard.
 
I want to say thank you again for all the modding efforts, I think it's awesome and every though I don't like all the games, I really appreciate everything. This is my favorite game and I never don't have it in my computers.
 
 
 
In 2.5 there are a lot of unplayable missions, missions don't load and the game closes or returns to menu. They are way too many of them and it's quite a hassle because every time the game closes, it messes up the computer's graphic settings. These are only a few examples:
 
- All missions by James Bond 
 
- L28 29 30 sniper elite 
 
- The Hero of Tarmakan
 
- Choose
 
- Jailbreak
 
- Rebel Army
 
- Isolated Island Survival
 
- Tiger Mouth Grab Teeth
 
- Poplar by LYT, forget the mission name
 
- The Hunt of the Tiger
 
There are many more that don't work, sorry I forgot to write them down. They are clogging up the mission list, I wish there is a way to remove those that don't work.
 
 
 
Mission by Chiu:
 
- Ch1, Spy can't do anything! No weapon, no poison, can't punch, I don't know what to do. I remember there was a mission like this.
 
- Ch2, doesn't load
 
- Ch3, a very good mission, although I can't end the mission even though I have done all the objectives.
 
It's very fun and long mission, starting with Fin in a very challenging situation. I never imagine Fin is up against so many snipers but make use of the light, preserve the ammunition especially at the beginning and sneak around. However it's very hard to get Lupin, I don't know how to go into the room without getting killed and the Ally is useless. The invasion is great and second one was unexpected but it works very well. When enemy on the starting side has been clear, I stationed Sniper at the dark area on the bridge with unlimited rifle. With a long stretch of bright area and sniper far sight, it's easy to get them because they always use the bridge to get there.
 
 
 
- Novice Training Driver (LYT) it's quite interesting but I can't end the mission even though I have turned off every light and blown up every truck it still uncheck. The map is nauseating though, there are a lot of scrolling to go around. You can't kill enemy but you can kill dogs. The guy with light don't help their friend so it's easy to get around them.
 
 
 
- ST03 04 05 is very beautiful and too bad I always kill civilians. One of it with the monks is civilian killed randomly, but maybe because I trigger it, need to replay to be sure, however the one at the fishing dock (love the map) is very hard and seem impossible to do as there is no hiding place. I found the starting point when I appear and manage to kill a couple of enemies, but it trigger the patrol and it's very hard to get back to the water and I get killed again and again. So I haven't tried back.
 
 
 
- Defending Motherland 
 
can't do anything, GB stuck and Sniper can't shoot from the window. Enemies block the entrance. What is the point of this mission?
 
 
 
- Horror in Kasserine
 
Can't breach the enemy area behind wire
 
 
 
- I don't remember the name of the mission.
 
It starts with GB (training map) when he has to clear the area and contact Fin. It was easy enough and I manage to kill everyone and contact Fin. But it starting to get ridiculous from there. With a lot of trials, errors, and deaths, Fins manages to overcome the enemies in his area but wounded badly. He also manages to get to the other side, and land after sneaking past the four enemies by the water, but then I was stuck. No knife, nothing, and there are a lot of enemies around. I can't knock them without being seen or kill them without being loud. Alarm will get the driver executed. I don't know a way to work around it and have to give up.
 
 
 
- Haifanggang something (Enenen)
 
Easy mission but I love it. It's classic, clear with many resources. Classic Haipong they just move the commandos around. Didn't use Sapper at all as I blew up the explosive manually. Many times it's nice to have classic mission.
 
 
 
Overall:
 
Maybe 2.5 still frustrating to me. A lot of not-working missions, it clutters the list. After trying so many, I only find two satisfying enjoyable missions. There are many more that don't work or I fail and forget to write down. The mine detector is still frustrating (not challenging but frustrating) and there are still some mission when commandos don't know how to use weapons. It would be fine if they have other ways to neutralize them but sometimes they don't. There are missions with almost zero resources and it's very disheartening to play.

I did install them in order but I ran the game through the desktop icon created.
 
I tried to run the commp and it works! Will test the missions when I have time.
When I tried earlier, XT48 and X51 map are total darkness except the enemy. I can't see any barriers but there are there, it's not fun that way so I stopped. Will test again with commp but maybe not for a long time. Commandos can't use guns.
 
North African Blacklist (5G)
Sweet and shot mission. Straightforward
 
Save the Amur Tiger (5G)
Fun and easy mission. Map doesn't show building but easy enough to recognize and remember the places.
 
Spring Thunder Operation (5G)
This one map doesn't show building but not fun. It's quite nauseating because buildings only use words and hard to navigate. The mission itself is easy but dislike the map a lot.
 
I have a lot of trouble logging in, the site keeps kicking me out, but hopefully I have time to play and can update often.

Questions:

1. Does GonzoandJon doesn't work anymore? I only like to use Ctrl X to go back to area I have cleared before to save time

2. The resolution of new interface is great but I can't seem to enlarge it. I don't have good eye sight now and everything is a bit too small for me for long term playing (even when I set to 800x600). I have tried to change the resolutions, full screen, windows, but it remains the same. On the loading page it says to do the full screen but I can't find the file.

International Rescue (James Bond)
 
This one is very exciting as it has everything that I like. Lupin, who has the ability to tie and use weapon. Classic map, nothing magical, some resources.
There are three Commandos available at the start but the only one with any hope to move is Lupin as Fins and Spy are stuck without anything to defend themselves (with a group near the Spy)
 
It's difficult, but managed to get Lupin to clear out the area around the field. The patrol and everyone has long range, they are not interested in cigarette but tied enemy lures them. There are groups who appeared out of nowehere or come for inspection but luckily managed to clear them by ambushing and timing.
However the big group of rifle patrol can't be taken out by Lupin alone. I tried bait them to the second story, shoot them from window, wait for them from the edge of building, but they are simply too many.
 
Also, there are a lot of Snipers. Although I manage to kill one using smoke bomb in line of sight of three snipers, there are no way so far to reach the others. I can't access the box too as I couldn't avoid the sniper's kill. I can't find a point to climb the wall without being spotted, can't access a lot of doors. And I keep dying when trying to clear the big building because too many machine gunners. Managed to bait a few of them out, but there are too many. Can't get near the sniper across the water too. 
 
I am stuck.

Is possible original ten missions (nod modding crew etc.) to add in DP ? In DP is Night with wolves with more crew as in original. I want play original not modded missions. Thanks

The cheats only works in comm2.exe or debug.exe able cheats in comm2p.exe is hard

I was playing 'Confuse Right or Wrong' by James Bond, and managed to clear everything but don't know how to end the mission. 

The mission goal is empty. At the end I have killed all the enemies except one tank because there is nothing that can be used to kill it. There is a car and I tried to drive it but it doesn't move forward (movement very clunky). Is it the end of mission? Normally in this map there is an invasion but there is no instruction.

 

All the hidden enemies on the left side of the map have come out and it's all clear.

Appreciate advice from those who have played this.

I find a lot of James Bond's missions interesting and should be fun to play, however it seems to have accuracy problems that I don't find in other missions.

 

Mostly when we enter a room with an enemy facing the door. It's always not fast enough to kill the enemy because the aim is not accurate even though I tried as fast as I can and aimed in the right direction, it still mostly points to another direction but at the enemy and the commando will be killed or heavily injured. Sometimes it works (direction is correct but the percentage is low). I am not sure if it's purposely created that way but I have played many missions with similar challenges in the past and the aiming is never as bad as these missions. Injured is fine but when the mission consists of a couple 'facing the door enemy' it doesn't work for me, especially because the missions always have very little resources.

 

At the end, I always stuck at these and keep dying regardless how much I try.

 

It's a pity, because I think many of the James Bond missions that I tries are interesting, but I can't never finish any of it. This, unclear instructions, or mission doesn't end. It's frustrating.

Finally found some enjoyable missions:

 

L39 Traitor (Lin Yu Tain)

Enjoyable mission. Spy is alone but he is able to operate things he doesn't normally operate like setting a trap, which is critical for this mission. It's set at night time, not overly difficult, good resources. It's enjoyable hide and seek, and I love to drive those enemies mad with random bodies.

 

CHR1 Chronocross 1 (Pleskin Wael Extrano1955)

Beautiful map with good place to hide, enough resources and clear objective.

Mission is relaxing, fun, and straighforward.

 

XT53 File Found (Canghaiyisu Lin Yu Tain)

Good mission and fun to play. I appreciate that the exterior (with touch-up facades) correspondent well with what is inside, everything is functional. Resources is good and the number of enemies is good. Nothing to difficult which is underrated and great. 

Commandos don't have ability to ambush but it doesn't matter in this mission since it's more like a guerilla mission. I had fun letting Natasha run across the building facade and all those peeking from windows are quickly running out for her to finish them one by one.

453 D03 Diablo II Kurast (Lin Yu Tain Haibo)

 

Way too easy, no challenge at all, but mission doesn't end although objective has been made. Spiritual leader can't get into the boat.

It's a nice map though. If the mission is harder, have interior and resources or equipped with underwater map, maybe it will be very fun.

Tried a lot of unplayable missions (for me)

 

There is one which I play until the end and put it aside (map Haipong, JB mission) mission is to blow up many tanks, armor car, and antenna. I still have a lot of bombs but it's obvious that it's not enough. Managed to bait a couple of tanks to shoot each other but I guess that is what is left from the mission. I didn't delete it, but it's not my cup of tea. After too many attempts and keep getting killed it's too repetitive for me. Once or twice is fine, but not that many. Mission itself is great and fun, too bad the ending is not.

 

There are many who seems too weird/unpredictable to play. For example, one that start with many commandos but after the mission starts for a few seconds, they are found by the enemy. I think it's the one with nice and pretty colorful map where there are six commandos in pair. Maybe this is meant for multiplayer.

 

There are many by JB who trigger another enemy to suddenly run to you when you tie a certain enemy.

- Lupin in Paris map, where he starts from near rooftop. Manage to clear some enemy, but yeah, their action is too unpredictable, no place to hide, can't trigger alarm, no resources to help.

- Sapper in the train while Lupin is in the building upper stair with too many commandos down there, Sapper managed to clear two carriages but yeah, I can't see how to proceed without triggering alarm. Again, unpredictable enemy (although managed to divert the one come running two times) but that is as far as I can go without triggering alarm.

- Another one with divers in Wilson island, managed to clear the island but can't get to Wilson. No place to hide, no resources, can't trigger alarm because someone is killed. Even when I manage to run into one of the cave, there is no way out.

 

There is another one by LYT where commandos have unlimited weapons which is nice but they need to kill 500 enemies. When I got into maybe 100, the mission is too repetitive I don't have the feeling to waste another hour to wait for the other 400. It's great that commandos have resources and good map, but there is not much fun when all they do is wait and kill the enemy, and repeat by hundreds? Why? It's creative, yes, but that's it.

 

There are many more absurd missions.

 

For original mission, I would spend nights and days trying to finish them, and I did, because I have confident that those missions can be finished/cleared.

For mod missions, there are too many unplayable ones because it's too difficult for things mentioned throughout this thread: unpredictability, unclear enemy methods, random fatal triggers, random appearing enemies. impossible start where commandos are killed straightaway, no resources, alarm trigger kills but there is no way to proceed without alarm.

 

I understand that these are probably easy for the creators and fun, good for you. 

It's just simply too difficult and too stressful sometimes while I want to play for fun.

Hope others enjoy them more, and thank you for making these mods!

I remember never tries this mission beyond reaching the shore for two reasons, GB is in death row and I was too hesitant to try the mission from the same author after Invasion At Night, which left me disssppointed.

 

Invasion at NIght, I loved the mission at the beginning and managed to go far, but then things started to go weird and I couldn't figure out the pattern about why my commandos would get killed suddenly by machine gun, eventhough they were doing nothing wrong and there were in safe hiding place. I figure maybe it was because I threw cigarette bait (it worked earlier in the mission. Maybe the author decides that there are limited time for that tactic, but really? Anyway, feel free to tell me if I'm wrong).

 

So finally I give this another try, and it was actually enjoyable. The beginning is hard, as usual, but there is nothing funny or magical about this mission, which is great. It works the way it should, and give another way of playing one of my favorite map. The walrus cracked me up, at first it got caught up in mine trying to kill Fins, but later he swam away peacefully only to be killed later before it's too murderous.

 

(General feedback: the mod makes use of animal, which add to the challenge, but to be honest it's a bit heartbreaking that we mostly have to kill them. Originally I always leave them alone whenever it's possible)

 

Anyway, I finish the mission except I couldn't check the security paper that seemed to be located inside the indestructible metal box, and Lupin couldn't find the key. I tried to blow it up but it didn't work. Any advice?

 

Overall, I love this mission and will give a try to other missions by the same author.

Are the enemies hidden? Because I remember trying to find what killed me but couldn't see them. If they are hidden then it's probably too hard to keep guessing, but I remember enjoying the mission until my commandos started dying randomly. But will definitely give it another try.

436 XT36 German Headquarter (Lin Yu Tian)

 

Awesome mission. Commandos: Fins and Natasha

I like this creator's creativities and sense of humor, although please don't molest commando. Ai yo.

 

Fins is my favorite commandos beside Thief (with ability to neutralize enemy) and this mission is crazy with the amount of triggers and enemies. It's hard, but it's enjoyable.

 

Not so great points:

- map in the tunnel are difficult to see the end

- no overall map

 

Great points:

- eventhough it's not easy, it's reasonable

- I am not restricted to play it by one way only

- resources are scarce but weapons are abundant (by taking it from enemies) because we need a lot of them!

- a lot of enemies but commandos have time and weapons to handle them, provided you have strategic place and ways to bait them

- objectives are clear and marking are clear

- awesome new map

- a lot of playable areas

- amount of commandos are great, not too many, not too little, and these two are perfect for this mission

- crazy piranhas! but not impossible

 

Great mission! Very satisfactory and playable.

Commandos: Sapper and Thief

Easy mission and fun but can't end

Prisoner has been freed, tanks have been destroyed but mission doesn't end

 

 

435 XT35 Rescue Plan (Lin Yu Tian)

 

Commandos: GB has to rescue three others 

A very long difficult mission, the amount of enemies is crazy but I managed to neutralized them except the ones in the group (which are a lot of groups) need to throw neutralized in the bush except the ones near oil depot because there is no bush nearby and the area is bright. If you don't throw them, sometimes they are found and untied, have to redo.

 

I haven't finished the mission, got stuck for now. I don't know how to rescue or get to other commandos. Most indoor are too difficult because they are way too many enemies. Clear a dark building but don't know which pictures to give the appointed person (have tried all combination with those I have, not fun), enemies can't be killed (why there is a knife then?) maybe, hopefully can kill them after rescue because right now there is no way to get the groups.

I have tried to trigger the groups to run in one place but it's not enough time and can't get in the interior. GB climbed cable and gets into second story but it I neutralize someone inside, the general or whoever escape.

 

Way too many variables, too many triggers, too many enemies, and there is no way to get back (like GB can't go down now after climbing through second story). Picture matching is cute, but too random, I have no patience to try and match them (actually I did, but nothing works, maybe because there are picture I haven't found, the one I found is near the building. If that is the case that it's also include combination with pictures found in other places then it's too much. There are too many combinations mathematically and it doesn't add anything to the enjoyment of the game). A long waiting time for a short safe window because too many groups to avoid. It should be a very interesting mission, but I'm wasting too much time in waiting, redoing mistakes, unsure where to go, what to do, can't get rid of enemies because of restriction or they will escape.

 

At first it was fun but it's dragging too much. I have played this for a long time, so I'll leave it.

Repeated map, never-ending, maybe there is a trick, hence the mission title, but after going through the same corridor for the tenth time, nah, I'll pass.

Maybe I have to vary the way to neutralize the enemy, but it's too random to guess, and it's difficult or impossible to neutralize many enemies that comes at the same time without killing. This author is fun, but also has many missions with repetitive action. Some are good, some are mundane that becomes unenjoyable. I think this is one. 

Not for me.

XT 438 Decryption Action (Lin Yu Tian)

 

Commandos: GB and Natasha

Fun and scary mission because everytime you use a gun, it alerts every single enemies in the area, sometimes those from the interior too. Make sure you continue to load weapon but since the map can't be rotated, I can't access some of the enemies dead bodies, so I have to quickly run or jump to the water.

Reduce the number of enemies but shooting from places they can't reach, like the submarine, or make a quick escape to the dock or water because they will keep coming.

 

Good: fun but not impossible mission. Enjoy sneaking around. Map is very creative combination with multiple terrain. Like the crazy enemies but manageable with strategy. but can't finish (see below)

The negative there is no resources, not a single piece of first aid, food, while the mission is very dangerous. Commandos are barely alive.

It's okay though, manage to kill almost all enemy BUT the game keeps on crashing! I was almost at the end of the game that only easy parts are left (I think) but after many crashes it basically unplayable.

Too bad because I think this is a very cool mission.

Commandos: GB

Went very far in the mission, have recovered a lot of pictures, killed all enemies in the maps except some in the interior, but game started to crash. There is area that can't be entered, it will crash. And finally, every time I click on the clue, it crashes. Can't play.

Commandos: Driver and Sapper

 

This is an awesome, awesome mission! I don't normally prefer mission for commandos with limited basic ability (driver can't use gun and machine gun) or we can't kill the enemies (even without raising alarm) but this mission pulls it well for various reasons.

 

GOOD:

1. There are safe places, especially at the start.

It's not easy, you have to find them. We need to neutralize the enemies, and without raising alarm, we obviously need to hide them. It's tricky in a good way because places that are normally safe (interior after we clear the enemies) are not safe because there are always patrol coming in to check. 

However, by observing the patrol's eyesight and movements, I could find a right spot to hide enemies just under their noses. Finding them is not easy as I was racing with them and needed to be safe myself. But once I did, I'd start clearing enemies. You need to be very quick while rescuing Sapper.

 

2. Dark night mode. The number of enemies in this mission is crazy. The number of patrol, especially because you can't raise alarm or kill them is crazy. I had to play hide and seek and sometimes crawl right beside or behind them. It wouldn't work if this is day mode or with big flash lights shinning around. Officers with flashlights are very dangerous though.

 

3. Rescue mission. Creative, fun.

The main civilians are located inside the church, and it's very difficult to get into the church. I spent a lot of time trying to find a hiding place, I did but not enough to hide bodies. The only way was to secure the small corner area next to the church but all the entries are well guarded. The key is to knock out the officer with flashlights and machine gun nearby, and quickly, with good timing, knock out the small patrol. It wouldn't work if the patrol is still active, because I needed a safe area. There are only total of three sleeping bombs available, and at this point I had two, which is enough. But I think it's good to have more spares in case player mistakenly used it for other places. I don't see any other way without these two bombs. And it's a long mission, it would be hard to repeat if you wasted the bombs.

 

4. Since I couldn't neutralize the patrol, but needed to drive the escape truck, I neutralized every other enemies along the way. The patrol is always moving, so I just move the truck bits by bits without being seen until the time to escape.

 

5. Awesome map.

I always love map with a lot of details and places to hide around, a lot of interiors, nook and crannies. The hill is great, the church is impressive, and overall the map is strategic in term of getting the idea of how to clear them.

 

QUESTIONABLE:

 

1. Sapper doesn't have any function at all.

 

2. There are two unlimited guns available in boxes, which is a luxury, but the commandos can't use them. Why do we have that?

I know we don't need to use everything, but if the mission adds another objective after all civilians have been rescued to kill the enemies, it would be fun (and Sapper would be useful because he can use the machine and gun!)

 

 

Overall, I really like this mission. Very playable, fun, and creative.

261 BE 03 A Noisy Blow Up (Marian Extrano1955)

 

GB needs to quickly run behind an outpost because two snipers are aiming at him straightaway.

Diver manages to clear his area without rising alarm from the binocular officer. However, he can't seem to cross the water. I tried from both sides but he died and there are no enemies looking at him (out of their near sight). What happened? Is it something in the water? Can he not swimming?

I haven't moved Sapper but if that's the case, it means both GB and Diver can't move now?
