Not sure if this has been suggested before but how about a scavenger character for the GLA, he starts off with basic infantry stuff (like a machine gun and a small bomb to damage buildings but weak), and by picking up salvage he upgrades with ablitys like stealth, better guns(rocket launcher/sniper etc) , more powerful bombs (toxin bomb , and eventually nuke).

I like this idea, maybe for stealth or assult gen.
idk if its possable to make him be able to have meny number of weapons upgrades maybe 2 or 3 ..

Maybe add for assault a mini superweapon - the Katyusha Ramp - it's stealth and not visible on the map by default and can launch an improved version of the Katyusha at the enemy's base (it's not precise) - the power is like a demo-scud I think.

and while i'm at it.
I was bored and thinking of how to make the AF hero totally rock.
he's what you do.

The Airsupport hero calls the planes.
Once they enter your command field. You automaticly get control of them.
They don't need to land. and they come with a ton of missles.
and you basiclly have them until they get shot down.
BUT if they're in the command area. Airsupports timer will NOT recharge.
And you could have a button to make them leave.

Sorry ubermedic but i think that would be unbalanced.
i think a normal high powered strike called in capable of blowing any building apart from the main ones in one hit woudl be good enough, got to remember the airforce gen is ment to have a massive airfleet already so you can call in bomb strikes anytime.
The hero would be tactical and also don't forget he would have an high powered 20mm anti tank sniper rifle infantry no match light vehicals would die 3-4 hits (used for support in taking out light mobile AA)

USAF:
Basiclly the same thing all over, the sniper rifel and the ability to call the hero squadron, but pls give the hero squadron an auto target ability! Pls

I got varios ideas for this guy! I'll say a selection! Ok, first he gets a pistol and can build a really massive base defence, sth like a rail gun that can shoot at both air( not a garante hit, but maybe) and ground and has higher damage then the sniper antitank Second idea, give him some kind of PDW and a massive stachel charge! Sth that contains all the evil stuff SW is able to get, so put emitter EMP and an explosive all together, plant it and run!
Cyber:
For this guy my only idea is that he carries a very powerfull rifle, a rocket luncher and small drones that he can spawn and these drones automaticlly search for their targets, infiltrate them shoot them down and explode! These drones should look like the mines in Unreal tournerment 2004
Laser:
This guy is walking in an powered armour suite, has a microwave field around him, carries long range rifle for anti infatry proposes a dual laser defender weapon, so basiclly he has a weapon with the duble speed of the laser defender, and finally sth like the cyber hero, he carries small drones that he can spawn and they automaticly repair damaged vehicles around him

Can you guys pls rely to my post some time ago!
And Slowie the Katyusha is a cool idea, that gives me an additional encoriging to find them and blow them up!
Phoenix you said it that idea is overpowered like hell

Dude i am a tester are you? No so shut up.

It is about tactics BUT everythign still needs to be BALANCED, every game in the world is balanced even games based on stratagy. Have you played "act of war"? (not the mod for generals the actuly game)
There is 3 teams in that and that is all about stratagy, the money is limeted forcing you to use stratagy BUT all teams have artil all have strikes off screen all have capable infantry and tanks and the like.
Sure every unit is differance and some units cna do mroe than others but in sence they all have them limtations and there weakness's

Maybe it be good for you to learn this, balance does NOT mean everyteam has to be the same, it just means everyteam has to be able to face the other ons a level playingfield...

In your eyes you would see this as fair.
tank general as it is in remix having heavy tanks chimaria lighting tanks and so forth meny more powerful units vs an unmodified GLA team? is this fair? who will win?
U could throw 100 scorpians at a chimaria tank and they would all die.

Now i not bitching at you just trying to make you see sence.

Na the chimaria is evil i seen 1 hold of massive hords before falling to an army, But that is only helping prove my point capt.
He thinks that balance means everythign is teh same but it does not, and you only just added to that fact that it has no propganaded adding to the fact it is balanced and its slow...

O and capt the chimaria tank can upgrade with a lighting turret remember :dry:

And could some one tell me whats bad about strategy? Isn't Generals an RTS? Ok, from the game play it isn't really but this mod makes it more like that.
And pls give a feedback to my sugs pls
Yeah, a lightning turret, but without beeing able to switch to chain lightning
And the chimera is sued if you use the right tactics, like coming from different directions, mixing units, that all helps, this mod is balanced very good!

AF... Okay.
SW... Seems pretty sweet.

What do you have against the drones, they are nothing big, smaller then infantry and you can't control them, they are only one way, they jump at their targets and either repair( for laser) or attack(cyber) the target, I like it!
And which one of both SW ideas do you like, cause there are two!

This is how it should be .... lmao. (seriosly after i read that i could not stop laughing)

Your ideas capt. is good and some have been said before like my airforce hero with your hero squadron idea.

But i do not like infantry getting drones, i know there cyborgs and stuff but i just don't like it i think its stupid, Cyber gens infantry already are evil as hell letting them have a drone only makes them even more powerful as they get another gun other sides infantry has no chanse if they have a drone.

You got me a bit wrong!
The guy himself is a man, and the drones he spawns, let's call them an active minefield around him! They are walking with him and if there is a tank they attack! They jump on the tank get to critical areas and blow themself up, and the hero replaches them after some time! I don't know what you have against it, they are not meant to work independent or what ever!
And the Airforce hero combo thing rulz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also like the airf hero suggestion. And I've from the start had an idea of what I want for Robot general's hero.

So, descided on heros include:

AirF. Sniper with Special squadron call in.

Robot. Custom Android. A little larger than the standard Stormtrooper with souped up laser style weapons. Plus a different skin to make him stand out from the croud.

Infantry General. Field Commander. Large frenzy3 aura, plus the ability to spawn conscripts.

SupW. Engineer character who builds a special base defense and place some kind of super weapon beacon.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.
