Got to use the "Royal Guards" for the first time today and I have to say, those are some pretty slick textures and models.

Were they done by you, Celeglin? If so, will they be the models/textures used in your new, enhanced Rohan?

They certainly are done by me, and thanks for the compliments (I must say that I do like my Royal Guards too lol... Weta's designs look so badass ingame). Eorlingas, Rohirrim, and Rohan Horse Archers all use the sixteen new high-rez skins Nertea and I created, 10 of which are shown in the latest update. I may work with these skins so the Yeomen can use them as well: peasants will stay low rez because I can't be bothered with them.

One thing that I was kind of disapointed with (this is a nitpick) was that Theoden and Aragorn didn't get a more detailed skin (though I did notice several positive differances on Aragron). Theoden's colouring and patterning are alright, but compared to Hama and Gamling (who both look and behave excelently) he seems less-than-regal.

Theoden and Eomer (must give Eomer his helmet) will be redone quite soon. I don't really want to reskin Gimli, Aragorn, Boromir, Faramir, and Gandalf the Grey, but I should probably give all Good heroes the same treatment...

Merry's Rohan clothing also seems a bit bright (the sheild on his back was nonetheless a brillant addition) and doesn't remind me overmuch of his film garb.

Actually, the skin that is currently in the mod is his "ceremonial" outfit that he wears when he returns to the Shire in Return of the King (image here; you can see Pippin's ceremonial outfit in the back). I've done his Pelenor Fields armour, but unfortunately the code isn't quite working how I want to.

I managed to get Gil-galad working and found myself shouting: "Ed' i'ear ar' elenea, Ereinion Gil-galad!

He was a joy to have in my army, and I think I'll be playing with him from now on out. Lle ume quel!

Glad you like him :thumbsupsmiley: !

its a real nice mod it really wouldent do under for EA if thay made an expansion of this.

Though I don't really understand what you're saying, thanks a bunch anyway! Happy to hear that you're having fun!

Where did everyone get this idea that the beta was updated? I'm sure Celeglin would have told us if he had updated it.

Theoden and Hama both have a 'Summon Royal Guard' ability. It's quite usefull, and shows off some beautiful texturing (much better then the EA standard).

i was wondering cel if you could lower gothmog's orc bash damage/splash range or make him get it at a lower level because he has killed 5 groups of my Spearmen of the Havens and gained about 4 levels

Yes, its being nerfed severely. Gothmog is still terribly unfinished.

But, when I was playing and I had some troops fighting Gothmog, even at a high level, he still seemed very weak.

He's a support hero, not an attack hero. Use him for leadership.

and did you use his bash abilitly, it will kill anyone that is close. even more than aragorn's blademaster and lurtz's carnage.

also how much faster does his Siege Master make siege equipment?

Should be +25% (and +25% attack damage)... But I haven't tested it enough to know if it even works.

(now registered)

I ment to ask in my last post - is there any timeframe (vauge or concrete) by which you will be releasing any future Betas or (hopefully) the finished product?

Since I now have something of a ventured intrest in the mod, I'm quite curious.

Yeah...but make his bash damage bigger to recompensate making his splash smaller. To make him quite good counter to heroes (noo no to best ones but for weaker...now heroes rape him and armies take him down) :thumbsupsmiley: And I really hope you give sth. like Blademaster for Hama..it suits him. :thumbsdownsmiley:

What about making a to do list (locked) thread so we know what you are about to work on, which suggestions you have agreed to work on and so on?

Soon'ish... I'm out for the weekend, so I won't be able to work on much. When I come back, I have a load of school stuff to do, and then I have to do some publicity work for the ModDB Awards. Then I might get a chance to fix the exploitable bugs and finish reskinning the Good heroes (did Eomer, his horse, 4 new Eowyn skins, and Eowyn's horse last night).

:thumbsupsmiley: And I really hope you give sth. like Blademaster for Hama..it suits him. :thumbsdownsmiley:

Nah... I'm going to be adding a leadership to Royal Guards for him.

Possibly... I used to have a progress page on the site, but with the way I work it just wasn't worth it. We'll see.
