I realize that new units won't help, but only one may differentiate two mini-factions that look a lot alike. It was only a suggestion.
That wasn't my opinion, I haven't really thought about if new units would help. I was just saying that I don't believe the staff will add new units.
But yes, I don't think new units would help so much. I even think the mini-factions should stay the same. There could be done more with balancing regarding unit strenghts, economy speed, costs etc.
Every faction has an advantage and Dale has the fastest economy and those adventurers. Both can be a very big adavnatage, so it is just a question HOW fast must the economy be to give an advantage against Gondor or Mordor (who have decent economy aswell) and HOW expensive may the adventurers be to give Dale a real advantage ingame.
...regarding the mini-factions Esgaroth and Dorwinion:
Faster economy means early access to mini-factions (and think of the possibility to make those mini-factions cheaper than those of other factions). Obviously these two only provide one elite unit and one hero, but if a Dale player can get them pretty fast it might be worth to build both. Dale could possibly have a very strong army in mid-game and could boost up pressure in late-game with adventurers.
And we all want this to be released, right? More units = more time to work needed...
however... this discussion wasn't meant to be public so let's see what the staff will be cooking up in secret
