the concept for that is allready ingame *points on gandalf the white and anduril spell* but now it is more tactic decision cause the hero also loose some abilities or advantages.

Well I meant 'upgradable' as in what you've done. Anywho...

I've only seen armor upgrades :p but this is awesome

anyways, when you upgrade Boromir, do you have to have him unmounted? or will he change his model\object anyways?

like, you have GondorBoromir, and when upgraded you get say GondorsBoromir, where he is like a brand new hero... or will you just make a USER_3 thing for him, and remove the things in the commandset....
I know, weird question for some, big for me

edit: I assume it's a USER_3 thing, cause otherwise he'd start on a certain level? :sad2:

About the hero losing abilities, I noticed that Gandalf loses a couple of abilities in the transition to GtW, such as mounting his eagle. Is that what you mean?

Yeah I guess, like Boromir loses his mount when he gets armour.

Will you need to upgrade the Witch King for its armor or is it just for looks?

Also I dont like the fire sword thingy in general. On weather top, the second Strider arrived with two fire sticks, the 5 nazguls got the hell out of there like no tomorrow. Strider or Gandy (forgot), said that the nazgul were afraid of fire. Now if they hate fire, why would one be able to emit flames from their own sword? Damn hypocrite nazgul

I guess if they control their sword on fire, it's a smaller chance of them being caught on fire :cool2:

I think it was just becauuse the Witch King knew[ I think] that he couldn't be killed by a man and over all he wasn't afraid of the "spirits" of the elements, as I believe, the Third Age called them

No, thankfully.

I highly doubt Boromir loses his horse when upgraded with armor, that would be bad. I belive that Gimli also has some sort of armor upgrade as well, changing his fellowship garments to Dwarven battle armor, I don't se why any of his abilities should be removed in the process. And I also think that with the Anduril upgrade, Aragorn dons his Gondor armor

I think the armor upgrade/ horse losing thing for boromir is just to balance things out. Also infantry was the main branch of gondor's army so their captain general should be an infantry unit also.

Didn't it show/imply in a screenshot (including it's caption) that Boromir loses his horse when he dons his armour?

IDK, but I seem to remember one of the team members posting about it.

To it seems good, as it'll add a whole lot of strategy (that is...if the infantry are actually a viable option for Gondor now).

What do you mean by the latter comment, zimoo?

I mean that you'll be able to choose between a powerhouse infantry hero, or another mounted leadership hero to accompany cav. Strategy...

Well Boromir is an infantry hero (He is the best general of gondor and almost all gondor army is made of infantry) so it makes sense

Coming from the guy who suggested a dwarven chariot, I find this rather amusing.

Choose between Boromir in his light armour with a mount for speed, or heavy infantry Boromir. He isn't a rider.

I actually really like this. I wouldn't want near every single hero capable of mounting. I like specialized heroes.
