To supplement what Dain previously posted:

In the Rhovanion Alliance Mod, Boromir is classified into a distinctive group of heroes (other prominent ones include Aragorn and Haldir). The players have the option to "upgrade" these heroes depending on their needs or tastes (i.e. you can choose if you want your selected hero to still remain a scout hero or upgrade him into a tank hero) as the hero gains enough levels.

In the case of Boromir, at earlier levels, he is a close-combat hero who's capable of holding his own against a considerable amount of enemies but is also lightly armoured enough to move quickly if need be (especially after gaining his "mount" ability). At later levels, Boromir gains an upgrade (in the form of a "clickable" icon, so it's not passive) that would increase his armour defence by a large amount and enable other abilities that correspond with said armour upgrade, effectively making Boromir a very tough front-lines commander. However, by upgrading Boromir, he loses his "mount" ability in addition to a sizeable decrease in speed. After upgrading, the "mount" ability and the armour upgrade icon are then replaced by 2 other new abilities.

All in all, "upgrading" your heroes may bring about both advantages and disadvantages, so players will have to choose wisely.

So, to clarify, once you upgrade your hero, he can't go back?

I dont think u can change. Bard said that "you must choose wisely" on upgrading or not, so i think that its one or the other. If you can toggle upgrades, that would be rigged.

Toggle boromir so he can ride with his horse. Then toggles back so he has the armor upgrade w/ 2 new skills. Very much like the tower guards, where u rush into battle then tower wall formation in combat.

He starts off in Marchwarden garbs, then when upgraded he dons his march warden armor but loses his stealth I think.

*thinks out loud* It's amazing how in depth this mod is. There is not a single unit in the game now that is not unique in some way. Wow...

True. :thumbsupsmiley: Well, at least they're unique in that they're twin heroes.

And Olorin, I couldn't agree more. I'm pretty sure this mod is what scientists techically refer to as, "totally kickass."

There's Elladan and Elrohir, they're not much different from each other

But it's in their similartities that they are unique; the way they blend together like Yin and Yang.

I'd say Dunedain, because that's what he wore first. Rohan armour comes with leveling up, I think. And then the King's Armour would come as an upgrade, though I'm not so sure, as Aragorn doesn't have an icon which looks like an upgrade.

There definately is; maybe it's that 'Elendil' icon. Meh, we know it's there.

So Arry starts of with his Dunedain abilityies such as knife fighting, and archery, then he moves into Rohan armor as he levels up, then you can choose to keep him the way he is, or you can upgrade him with Anduril; then he dons his Gondor King armor, and loses his Dunedain powers. Nice

*thinks out loud* It's amazing how in depth this mod is. There is not a single unit in the game now that is not unique in some way. Wow...

QFT, at first I didn't see how the Gondor units were unique in any respect because by unit standards they are fairly moderate fighters, but they come in batallions of six instead of five like the elves and dwarves, while elves and dwarves are few in number but still very powerful. The human forces may be slightly weaker then the elven and dwarven forces, but they can make up with numbers.
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .
