And mordor rarely gets their wk until VERY late game.

thats really not something you call trustworthy information, when you know its the oposite

personally against, brutal i got to repel wk PRETTY OFTEN ( mostly the Angmarian one, but time to time even mordor sends him too soon ) since he costs just 2500, . . . why not ? ( question AI ask itself )

i ABSOLUTELY dont get ya ^_^

torces are melle upgrade
battle tower is Mordors tower (i think you ment Sentry tower as thats the one of Isen)
how could the thing you suggested help . . . . dunno

lastly - im playing Gondor (right now, after i get bored i swap to MotE or Isen), soo no barbarians

i think you whole posts was ment to be just for fun . . . ? if ya, well it was kinda funny imagining barbarians trying to enter mordors battle tower.
if i should take the post seriously, then . . . . its kinda nonsense ( not trying to offend you )

Battle Tower is used as a generic term there

Oh really? Go try it out and then we'll see who's the nonsensical one.
Alternatively, watch this video at 02:37mins onwards.

wow, i never knew about that...quite interesting.
btw, im whole-heartedly against adding starting towers to the bfme2-style maps. if you cant manage with a brutal, dont try to.

then reply.

Oh Myrdin....
When someone gets offended, they usually say that they do...
And if they do, then you shouldn't make things worse... This is suppose to be a nice play to be, without bossing around other people :p (unless your a mod leader, who wants stuff from yer crew :p as far as I know, your not ;)) So, be nice...

thank you ;)

I can handle Brutal, it's just it's either a five minute game or a two hour game because once you miss your first rush opportunity they hit you so hard you can't break out until you get to the big heroes / powers, and even then it's slow (this doesn't really apply to 1vs1 maps). It's not like it'd be making it insanely easier, you'd still be challenged, it would just stop (or rather help to avoid) the "enemies attack resources, go attack enemies, can't move forward because half your guys are defending your resources, stuck in base, loose resources, rebuild resources" cycle you (or at least I) always get stuck in against a Brutal.

well then of course there is the thing :

do you play RJ maps or normal one ? / i think you said RJ /, becouse the whole AI, does pretty different stuff in non RJ maps - means - is much harder

depends on what race do you play, coz some race are better to repel enemy at beginning then others.

the next thing could be, what wariey of units do you use.

then theres the issue of the balance, which is constantly being drilled, and made better.

the thing is - as for myself - if i would already start with 2 or 3 towers, no matter how much i try not to look at it - it still looks like cheating - and someone who challanges brutal must be ready to take him without cheating.
/thats why i dont agree with the enormous 50% discount for brutals, its harder AI, and even cheaper stuff/
As for myself, i dont have problems with rushing - mostly .... - sometimes i rush enemy, another time i clash with his rush party, and sometimes, i just kill them with fortress :p
this ussually happens at RJ maps, for you got some protection - good races - soo rush is not that hot, as in normal maps.

or if you still getting badly rushed over - try use a handicap, giving enemy just 90% instead of 100% hp, dmg or if needed set higher one (means going lower - 60,50,40, . . . making him weaker and weaker )
i wont lie - when i started playing BFME2 for the first time ( i buyed the game immediatly as it was " hot new cool game " ;) ) and till i got used to the rules, i used handicep often - well since, then i didnt touch the handicep setting till now :p , but well people get better over time - when you play like 20 matches, per day, from the shorter one, till the 1+hour loong games.

soo hmm the only tip i can give you - keep practicing /i didnt play real BFME since i got Rj, but well who would, eh ? :D /, anytime you are bored, and have nothing to do, get a game rolling, and try to get some new tactic, or something.

well whatever you do - wish you luck buddy ;)

err... yes?
Anyway, Brutal is meant to be a challenge. Which I think Myrdin was trying to get at. If it's too hard, go for Hard or Medium and work your way up. Find a strategy that suits you (i've yet too ;))

and if you want to try and take down a brutal, go for mordor, there the easiest in my experience, defiantly not Isengard or goblins

Ah...that reminds me of .05.03, when the brutal goblin was undefeatable, even in 2v1 matches....:good:

But, as I've already said, brutal isn't meant for everyone.

Still, I don't prefer playing vs. Goblins on brutal. They usually can get moutain giants in like 10 min. maybe less while you just start to get some stronger units.

But... I said I could beat Brutal. It just always goes the same (or rather one of two) way(s) for me. Starting defenses are just one of the things many superior RTS games have (in all honesty, BFMEII was bloody awful without any mods), so I thought I'd suggest it.

Well...really, that's why we readded rj style maps and bfme1 maps: so that every player can have his own preference. People might like building up a castle starting from scratch, or they might like build anywhere with some defenses, or they might like having a limited number of spots where you can build things with a lot of defenses.

Each to his own style, that's what the variation is there for :)
