I personally think Gollum needs to be weakened like one "touch and your dead" cuz when I do get him in sight, he always runs into enemy territory when he has half his health.
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .

if he is weakened to the point where one hit is death, then all you need to do is get some calvary and go across the map, get that trample, and poof, he's gone.

Trying to improve Gollums fleeing is on the list... :p
And having him "strong" (resistant) is pretty much the general idea, which is stated already in the readme to MarksMod. After all, he has the Ring, and I think it would be more fun the harder it is to catch him/it...

If he had the ring he'd be in his cave, thus why I hate the whole ring hero system.

Should make a riddling game...once you spot him he asks a riddle, and you have to choose one of 6 answers to make him drop the ring (or go onto the next riddle). Man that'd be so frickin' awesome :p

Playing games? Ah, you'll never be a good modder if you get involved in actually playing them!

Yea that would also be quite hard to make :p And then there should be like 20 different riddles to make it interesting because if there is only one with six answers, you just have to find Gollum max six times to find the right answer ^_^

Uhm, but why would gollum ask a riddle? :p
1. He's not that smart really
2. He would hardly let go of the ring by free will.

Yes, but Gollum did not give the ring, Bilbo had found it earlier.

The last riddle from Bilbo was: "What do I have in my pocket"? Gollum couldn't find the answer, so he went into his small isle for some reason I forgot, and he didn't find the ring. Then he thought: "What does he have in his pocket...?" and he quickly set on his piece of wood or whatever he used to get to the isle and ran to Bilbo. That's when Bilbo escaped, he accidentaly put the ring on and he found Gollum didn't see him.

True, true. But it would add quite a lot of book realism to the movie, perhaps it would simply make him visible instead of get you the ring.

Problem is:
Even if this is possible, since it would be a randomly (hah!) generated riddle, would you like to be asked, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" everytime you find him?

It's something I've been thinking off; should the ring be carried only by heroes?

My answer: yes. This ring-thing is getting waaaaaaay to big, so let's keep it simple.

That would involve more coding, etc to make it so that only heros get the ring.

I am curious if any of these ideas are going into the mod?

Letting only heroes be able to pick it up is the simplest thing. A filter in the ring object lists the units that can pick it up. :)

YEs, like I said before, you are free to hurl ideas as much as you want, but it's highly unlikely that anything radical is going to be made the the Ring business other than:
- New Ring Heroes
and
- Only heroes beeing able to pick it up (don't really have any logic here, I just like to "complicate" things a bit) :)

Any alterations further than that is not in any way planned at the moment :)

Wow wow, hold the phone, I meant NO! Sorry, I was tired when I typed that :). Just stop the ring hero debate, it's getting to big and complicated.
