o c'mon nomad u know it would be kool to the max to see a mumak explode rite in the middle of an enemy base, and see chunks and blood flying through the air, it would be magnificent. XD

LOL, well... there's the Isengard Bomb, right? So I guess there was some kind of gunpowder (who came up with that name anyways, I mean in history? It's just plain stupid to call something that dangerous for something so lame as "powder" ;) ). Anyway... we won't have exploding Mumakil though. Why? Cause I could NEVER EVER imagine that a race of ppl like the Haradrim (and Mahud) would spend a lot of effort into taming these enormous monsters just to blow them up :sad2: Besides, it would be bloody impossible to model and animate :huh:

But we could still use the "explosives idea" when messing with this faction, which I hope is really soon, cause I've been holding my breath for this to happen for about half a year now... :p

Allthough, we still have a lot of BugFixes to attent to first... ;)

OOOH I amlost forgot to tell... AWESOME news! :p

Lauri has donated just about all the Rhûn units we need for EvilMen:

- Spearmen
- Swordsmen
- Axemen
- Cavalry
- Catapult

Along with the upcoming Wain Riders from Lord Istari (only concept so far though) + all the Rhûn Structures from Robnkarla, we'll have the Rhûn side of EvilMen just about ready.

aww to bad, but my hopes werent that high, i got a qustion tho, whut would we do for powers? i mean cause none of them really fit like blarog or dragon just doesnt work

hey how do i become a modder or a modler or a coder or wahtever is there a forum on learning how to do it? i love working out problems like that.

@Naz: so we're going to have rhun calvary AND wain riders? Why not just stick with the wain riders? And I do like the idea of two evil men carrying a bomb like isengard's. The only problem is solving the A.I. problem that Isengard's having with that. But I guess once Sul gets Isengard's bomb working, he'll just implement that for evil men.

Wain Riders are not equal to Cavalry. Wain Riders come in few numbers, single powerful units, like the Dwarven BattleWagons. Cavalry comes in hordes.

Not sure about the Bomb, but why not... if Sûl can solve the hard coded AI for them.

*deer in the headlights look/ cow at an oncoming train look* wow that is alot to read but it diddnt tell me what i need to get before i can start.

been thinking about powers, maybe like a locus swarm for cerebain or bat cloud, the big worm thing (maybe recolored?) mumak burst of speed(all mumaks gain 33% faster movement and build), and sutin like trumpet wich give leader ship to nearby units.

2 new ideas for powers,
Stampede: kinda like smaug summon, but whole bunch of mumaks run across the screen and rample anything in path!
hire spy: select an enemy unit and see what they see for a short period of time, like 1 min.

Very very nice screens, Lauri's skins are beautiful!
On the topic of gunpowder based weaponry...I actually like the idea. A lot. I think it would make the faction incredibly unique to have it incorporated-maybe in limited number of Siege Weapons (cannons :ohmy:) and small battalions of primitive riflemen? The possibilities go on and on and on...

You know what I think about the Easterlings having actual GUNS? I think that Proffessor Tolkien would not only turn over in his grave...but actually come alive and commit suicide!!

One of the reasons that Helm's Deep was breached, was that Saruman invented "gunpowder" and if gun's or TNT or whatever, was used before by many people in Middle Earth, I'd think probably that humans would have had it as well. Besides, it would have been a whole different story if Tolkien would have mentioned that the Easterlings had guns, because if they where, I'd bet my mom that he would have told it like that.

Great idea for replacing goblins. I'm worried about the dragons though. Those are the frikkin' funnest units to play with, but they would only fit in with Mordor, and Mordor's already got a crazy amount of heroes.

You don't need to give all factions a flying unit, both from a uniqueness and lore POV. IMO you should try to balance it out another way.


GREAT IDEA! maybe make some specialized units to fight flying units, like superpikemen? or maybe make dragons, &c. take damage when they attack ground units, so they aren't invincible to non-ranged units.

Okay man, don't crap your pants! So did it mention anywhere in the book that the Easterlings had guns? Because if it does I'd be one happy camper if you'd tell me where. you need to learn to see the essence in what people are saying dude!

And don't lash out at people like that! It's just...dumb is what it is.

EDIT:

Oh, and by the way, how do you figure it's witchery? Do you have a version of the book where Saruman is participating in the war in Helm's Deep? And besides that, the logic of it is that Tolkien's writing was very much about references to the real world, and because of Saruman being very much about industry and he clearly is a bit of a scientist, I would probably bet that he has come up with some sort of "Mine" or whatever you'd wanna call it.
