Agree with Rhodin about the Guns and Cannons part,

Plz Naz don't turn this mod into a Gun/Rifle/Cannon mod, where swords and spears don''t count anymore :(

Could everyone just take a pill? :)
And Rhodin, my dear brother, I don't think that guy meant it THAT way... He was just a bit "extatic", but what do I know ;)

Anyway, here goes: I WON'T GIVE GUNS AND CANNONS TO EVIL MEN, k? I never friggin said that, did I? :p I said, I might give them the idea of a Bomb, that sorta functions like the Isengard bomd... maybe!

You know what I think about the Easterlings having actual GUNS? I think that Proffessor Tolkien would not only turn over in his grave...but actually come alive and commit suicide!!

I agree, defenitely... but relax, it won't happen ;)

Great idea for replacing goblins. I'm worried about the dragons though. Those are the frikkin' funnest units to play with, but they would only fit in with Mordor, and Mordor's already got a crazy amount of heroes.

´
You need to catch up on the readin dude, for SURE... :p That topic is obsolete - we are NOT gonna remove Goblins any longer and that's why the faction is names Moria now ;) In fact: I'll edit the 1st post and remove that part...

You don't need to give all factions a flying unit, both from a uniqueness and lore POV. IMO you should try to balance it out another way.

GREAT IDEA! maybe make some specialized units to fight flying units, like superpikemen? or maybe make dragons, &c. take damage when they attack ground units, so they aren't invincible to non-ranged units.

Flying Super Pikemen? :p Seriously... I might ban you for that! ;) Gimme a all when you're back on the same planet as the rest of us, k? :p
EDIT: Ok, I read it wrong... sorry :p

Well about gunpowder:
we know Gandalf and Saruman had something like it:
-Gandalf had his fireworks
-Saruman his bombs
and we know no one else got it in middleearth, so theres 2 possibilites:

1: they brought it from valinor, but this doesn't explain, where they got it from in middleerath
i can't image they arrived in Middleearth with some barrels full of gunpowder XD

2: They wandered around a lot, so they could have heard about it in the far east or far south
because tolkien refers to the real world, and gunpowder was "invented" in Asia, far east is more likely

Rhûn is not that "far" east, but its possible they also knew about gunpowder

but i agree tolkien would go insane, when he heard about guns in middleearth XD

If you had read my Disclaimer, you'd know that I/we don't answer ALL posts

And it's really way too early to think about Powers for them. But you're welcome to post suggestions anyways, even if we won't look that much on them until the faction is actually in game, modelwise and all that :shiftee:

well....when i said gunpowder i didn't mean GUNS. Here's the best analogy i can think of:

The men of the east are fairly mobile, right? Considering the haradrim probably moved around alot outside their main cities they'd probably have to have everything be pretty light...which means any kind of trebuchet or catapult would not suit their means. So....for all who have seen Mulan, think of the rockets they had. Instead of a siege "machine", you could have a battalion of haradrim carrying rocket tubes of some sort. They blast away at buildings to take em down. the battalion would probably have like 5-10 members, and you could base the model off of the haradrim spear thrower...just reanimate and replace the spear. They wouldn't be nearly as effective as a dedicated siege unit, which would be why you'd have to MASS them. A hundred guys with explosives marching towards your castle would definately...well, suck.

Alright...I won't pay any attention to any talk of rocket launchers and explosives anymore (Except for Isengard). It makes my skin crawl. :thumbsupsmiley:

yes, no gunpowders in LotR.
Saruman invented them and the Haradrim never used them in the Siege of Minas Tirith. If they had them, why haven't they used them in that battle? In such an important battle, you normally use your best weapons.
=> Haradrim shouldn't get gunpowders, it just doesn't fit in LotR...

Besides, the Haradrim don't need more siege. They got the Mumakil for that. For long-range siege Evil Men got the Rhûn Catapult.
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

AHHHhh...just tryin to make em a little less....conventional. And besides, a LotR mod has to infer a few things.

I wasn't talkin Haradrim with SMGs, though.....<_<

Indeed....GAH.

So...any chance of using anything from BoG? They've got tons of evil men structures, and Stealthsnake hasn't touched it in a long time.

Course, with all the stuff you have now you probably won't need it. XD

EDIT: oh, and here's an idea. Speaking of BoG, why not give Evil Men true Half-trolls, unlike their..um....swarthish goblin counterparts, ehh? Reskin the regular half-trolls to be more manlike and use em as siege units. It might even be possible to work them into some kind of Ram-like unit that is used to break down structures....just without the ram.
