Men of the East, Man of Darkness both sounds fine by me. just avoid using Evil man since that covers also dunlengdings, ruffians etc.

Man of the East fits more if you want ot use Rhun as their main faction indeed with Harad being kind of minifaction. but it really doesnt matter. imo Man of the East is nice opposite to Men of the West :good:

Yeah, I'm with Cahik there ^ :good:

I'll try to put some "logic" into it... *prepares to sound convincing* :p
- Men of the West is really Gondor with help from Rohan as "late game mini faction" kinda... but we can all agree that Gondor is the MAIN faction there.
- For "EvilMen" and their future name, the head faction is going to be Rhûn, and in the same way as with MotW, this faction will get Harad as "late game mini faction", even if it will contain a lot more stuff than Rohan does.... But - Rhûn is going to be the main part of this faction having the fortress and all... and since Rhûn means east... yeah :D

But, it's a looong road ahead before we even have a working beta of this faction so we have plenty of time to name this faction later on :)

We'll probably/hopefully start coding this faction as soon as we feel ready to work again after release of Beta 4.5, and hopefully we'll have great progress during this fall =) At least we'll have a good selection of models judging from LI's speed of work :)

Thanks for the interest everyone... this thread seems popular :thumbsupdrool:

Hmm...let me try to use logic to explain my point. Ahem
-Since their are more then one kinds of evil men it would be odd to exclude the Haradrim in the name.
-Regarding my last statement. I know the term Men of the West does not apply to the Rohhirim. I now look like a hypocrit. Let me fix that. Faramir also siad that in the latter days of the Third age the Men of Twilight and Men of the West be come more and more similar, and soon became the same for the most part. I think this makes up for the Rohhirim being called Men of the West.
-In choice between Tolkien's ideas and Ea's ideas why isint Ea's thrown out instantly. I would understand more if Jackson made the term Men of the East common since you have dedicated your mod to him, but why choose Ea's term?

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

I really like the Scorpion Expansion idea for the fortress :p but maybe make scorpions available from a building called maybe Dark Pit of Harad as special units, Scorpions were not in the movies but I think they would be really cool units for the EvilMen faction :p

You mean like Scorpion riders? If so, that sounds a bit too much like Spider Riders for my liking..

Have you guys ever thought of putting any of the other various evil men in this faction; ie., Wainriders, Southrons, Variags (sp) etc. I don't think they were mentioned in the movies so probably not, but if you need an extra unit or two those might be some areas to go; I could research them for you too.

I dont agree with Mordor losing Mumaks and Harads. They are a big part of the Mordor army. But then again I have seen a lot of Mordor players do the classic Nazgul, orc, and troll thing, so idk maybe people agree with it.

You're taking away Mumaks from Mordor? Damn. Well I guess that sorta makes sense. But not for 4.5, right?

Of course it makes sense - Mordor and Harad are two completely different armies/areas. They are allies, but they don't exactly mix.

@ gollum - You put the words in my mouth.

Besides, suddenly the trolls play a bigger part for Mordor, wich is great. In the movie they play a major part in Saurons army.

Only 3 fortress upgrades? hmmm...

How about a trebuchet? 1 lot rocks, second lot some kind of poisen or desease one like the skulls, and thirdly maybe some kind of mini spider/ant like bag that explodes and swamps an area with fear, lower armour etc and does some damage.

Iunno just brainstorming
