In the Return of the King game the easterling soldiers had scimitars, so maybe the haradrim can have them too. AND the game is based by the movie, so I support the scimitars. (and that would be unique too)
i don't think they were scimitars.they weren't like curved,they were straight.

Let's drop the scimitar debate with this?
Haradrim will stay with the slightly bent sword they have now, call it what you want
I'll ask my Modeler (Flame^) to give the Easterlings a "scimitar" though, like this one ^

On topic:um,yeah,the easterlings are my favorite people on middle earth.
I like the spear and shield.I also like the swords they have.In the ROTK game,they had 2 of those swords.
also,i hate how the easterlings were not mentioned and seen only for a brief part in the movie.I think to balance it out,the Easterlings would have more,because Haradrim came from Rhun,thats what i heard.I heard the Variags of Khand and the Haradrim warriors were originally in Rhun.

Rhûn is the main faction and Harad will be the other half. Basically they'll be equally "big" except for the fortress and the walls that will be Rhûn. The faction is named "Rhûn" though, for these reasons =)
You're gonna love the new Easterling models and skins, but at the moment the T3A FTP-server doesn't seem to respond so I can't upload screens of the Easterling Spearmen that I added tonight...

The Barracks will give:
* Lvl1: Easterling Swordsmen - normal unit
* Lvl2: Easterling Spearmen - strong unit
* Lvl3: Easterling Pikemen, aka "The Soldiers of Rhûn" - Elite pike unit (PreReq: Armory and all Technology)
* Lvl3: Easterling Axemen - single very strong unit
The Stables will give:
* Lvl1: Easterling Kataphrakts - strong cavalry
* Lvl2: Easterling Wainriders - very strong single unit cavalry
The Haradrim will be weak melee units but they will also muster a deadly set of Archers and Lancers, as well as the seond fastest cavalry units in the game, next to Elven; Haradrim Raiders and as a fun twist; Mahûd Raiders on Camels
There's the current roster ^ hehe

Ontopic:Nazgul,why would you make pikemen and spearmen?thats kinda the same thing.even though its not the same thing,there are slight differences.

2) Spears and Pikes can be different things, just like Swords and Scimitars, I guess. In this case I call long weapons Spears and short "melee spears" for Pikes. The spearmen will be the anticavalry specialized in those tactics, like other similar units. Using Porcupine formation as a special ability. Pikemen fight with short pikes in melee combat and they're also using shields.
The Spearmen model are the original BFME2 model, with new skins.
The Pikemen model is new (made by Lauri) and it uses the original BFME1 model anims, only with new skins.
Ergo - both units have different anims, as well as different equipment. That's enough to call it a pretty darn good setup as most scenarios are basically just copied units with same anims and only different skins and balance settings
Here they are in game: Easterling Pikemen - the elite force of Rhûn

I havent heard anything alike this before, Any idea where you heard it?hm,ive heard in the earlier times,people went from rhun to the south and named the country harad.
The map, shows the location of where the middle-earth locations would be on are current map today. Not, what countries there armor/design etc would be alike.lets drop the Easterling-Haradrim debate with this:

flame guard,i found this from one of Beriadan's posts:
My point is, it would sound A LOT better (and I said this before in another thread but will say it again) to call them something like "Rhun" (which means "East" in elvish and, well, after all, all "evilmen" came from there, the East! Easterlings, Khand-men and even Haradrim, who came from 'Harad' [or the south], came from the east too, or at least the south-east, of Middle-earth).
