I can see a Brutal goblins being able to spam several groups of goblins while you get your initial troops, climb over your walls, and take out your barracks before you can defend it.

The walls are for keeping things out. If they don't, then walled factions have no advantage to counter the ease of moving troops out of an unwalled forretress.

At some point in the books, I believe Aragorn or Gandalf says that troops are better than walls, and that without defenders, the walls will fall anyway.

Your fort will be able to own the goblins, and you should have some troops to repel them also. I wouldn't be too worried from just goblins and spiderlings, walls still keep out everything else, including siege...

Not to stray too far off-topic, but I have a feeling the Elves will feel the Gobs the hardest since they have no towers, banners or siege on their walls.

true, but they are the strongest, ( dmg ) fast attacking, and they units heal even in combat ( which i generally dislike  )

as for to continue, i need someone who is in high rank in this mod ( soo basically refering to you yoda  )

Goblins, and Dwarfs
......
tunnels and mines
......
need them, even more than in normal BFME/Rotwk

i think ( i know - becouse you are inteligent fellow ), that you know what i am referring too - helped them micro on the map ( drastically ).
if possible do a non rescourgatherable wersion that allows them to move fast as they could once

What if we basically made aethions/workpits/vadarians have a tunnel function for rj maps, and kept bfme1 as is where you can buy a normal tunnel/cav at an outpost?

Oh...and elves have the strongest archers in game  One or two batts on a wall, and the goblins will be sorry they tried to climb over...

Yeah, with that ST arrow upgrade (which I think is OP -just my opinion though....), those Goblins retreat faster than racecars. Or they die.

Humph, fair enough. Still wish Elves had towers, even minimal- like two towers at the gates, not to stray off-topic.

what are aethions/workpits/vadarians ??? kinda cant translate these.

and for goblin player to loose few batalions isnt tragic, after all he can make ( wery quickly ) hundreds more. soo sacrificing 2 or 3 soo the other 10 can get onto walls is normal in goblin strategy.
( they are kinda even more spammy than mordor, coz though the units cost gold, but not much, they train much faster then orcs )

Aethions, Workpits, and Vadarians are the capturable resource buildings in RJ maps.

I think I the goblins should climb RJ castle walls. If you're not defending your base when they attack, it's your fault.

We should give the goblins wargs and wolves. If you read the hobbit Tolkien says that they often went into battle together.

I'm fairly certain that they will get them. They will be replacing the Spider Riders if that is still unchanged. I just hope they're better to wield compared to Isengard's Warg Riders. :)

there was a big debate iirc about which should be moved to the inn because we dont want both in the faction at the same time. they are probably getting added eventually, im jsut not sure which circumstances this would be under.

@dalf
Right that is where I see it too. Personally, I would want Warg Riders over Spider Riders. Providing the Goblin version are better to wield, and that the Spider Riders are so glitched after upgrading them. :)

I dont think they were to bad. I kinda enjoyed them but I see what your saying about warg riders being a better fit fot the goblins.

I think a good idea would be for regular Wargs to be trained, and the regular Goblin Warriors horde be able to 'garrison' with them, turning it into a Warg Riders horde.

I like that idea. :p In other words combo horde Wargs and Goblin Warriors to make said Goblin Warg Warriors. I wonder if that would be a coding nightmare though? :p
