Just a suggestion, for the cav., maybe remove the spirrider's weaponswitch and make them rider archers, and use the warg-riders (according to the hobbit), as melee riders. also, the baby drakes seem to be op'ed. if anything, they shouldn't be able to, imo, crush a whole double citadel guard battalion...IN ONE RUN!!! Maybe two or three, but not one, even unupgraded as my units are, cav. can't crush a whole batt. in one run, unless they are, like, uber-elite (KoDA), it's just, these are drakes, and babies (scary babies, but babies), so they souldn't be this strong, imo.


I've personally never been too happy about how they only inserted baby retarded versions of dragons in this game - and the only adult dragons are Drogoth and that other Gob dragon hero that RJ made. It just frustrates me how they could make it so therss so many friggin retarded baby dragons - but only like 2 grown ones!! I mean im not asking for a super huge gigantic ass dragon like drogoth again, but perhaps a "Mid-aged" drake that can actually fly?? :dry: Serioiusly, from thisgame you would assume that only 1/100 dragons actually grew to get a wing... Like I said, I wouldn't mind a much smaller version of full scale dragons - relatively big compared to normal ground units of course but like half the size of drogoth and such :mad2: They should also have the occasional rechargeable ability to strike w/ a fire blast.

As for wat sword said regarding placing Spider Riders as Archer cavalry only, and having wolf riders be melee cavalry i think that would be just as brilliant an idea. :mad2: Rob seriously u should take a look at this thread! We want both spider riders AND Wolf Riders Damnit!!! :p ;)

the reason that ea only put in a few dragons was bc most dragons hav been destroyed by the tim of the wotr. i believe we wer talkin bout adding sum cold-drakes (dragons that dont breath fire; attack w/ claws and jaws) into the gob faction.
im pretty sure the cold-drake discussion was earlier in this thread.
the spider-rider/ wolf rider idea is genius. i def support that.

Lol im not gonna be fully serious here, but couldn't someone suggest that rob could put in a lot of dragons in da mod cuz since thers so many baby dragons (drakes), where did all their parents go ? Die in like one day? And also - dragons are known for growing up rapidly, no? So some of the drakes that were previously shown coiuld grow or upgrade tobecome winged (altho not bigger) ! ;) Or yet another thing coudl be that after the drakes grow up, they would "reproduce" a gigantic generation of new Drakes who grow up and form a new massive race of dragons! :)

BTW, anyone else feel like ther should be like either half-troll heroes or some form of mountain giant heroes? Maybe a new cave troll hero from FotR like in Moria ? lol :p (that cave troll certainly provided more trouble for the Fellowship guyz, than the regular cave trolls do in the game! It's also so annoying how the regular cave troll models we see in rotwk are so small! they 're barely bigger than men! So i think perhaps we should make use of that Giant-sized Cave troll model that u see in the campaign?? :)

and im not sure wer u heard that they grow up fast; iv never heard anythin like that, but of course i culd b rong.

and i agree that cave trolls culd b bigger, i dont think they need 2 b THAT much bigger.

I know there aren't that many dragons in the game, thats why i want more in the first place!! :p But, the stupficial thing is - "Drakes" are pretty much terms for "baby dragons" so I always hated how EA named (and made) their new Goblin Hero Hordes in the Rotwk "Baby Drakes." Seriously what is that supposed to mean? "Baby Baby Dragons"???? lmao? :D :lol:


And lol bout the dragons growing fast thing - -- it might not be really integrated in Tolkien's lore - but in general in "common lores" I've always known them to grow quite fast.. lmao u shouldn't take some of that last comment of mine too seriously !! In fact I even said it too myself b4:

I agree with Spointz on everything about the Drakes. The Fire Drake Brood was the most pointless hero horde in the whole bloody game, i mean we already have Drakes why do we need miniature ones that have the same damn powers as the regular Drakes. Now i think the Goblins should get a new hero horde combo, such as Gundabad Royal Guards or an Elite type of Goblins or something. Goblin Shamans or something. Another thing that pisses me off is how slow the attack is of the Half-Troll Swordsmen!!! They are supposed to be elite but a battalion of Gondor soldiers can take them down extremely easy. Same with the Black Orc Warriors. THey are too slow in attack. Anyone know where to change the attack speed of units in the INI.big file?

regarding Robert initial message:

- me too I don't mind about spider riders, they are very ugly to see but they're also an useful and versatile unit;
- remove the mount scorpion: I vote yes.
- Add another goblin hero: I vote yes. I would suggest this: add Durin's Bane as a hero (but not a hero leader), possibly a very expensive one because he's so though and so mean; you could eliminate the spider riders and so the goblins become a cavalry-less faction, but they get Durin's Bane and Drogoth!
-Add cost back to goblin fighters, decrease build time, poison blades free: I vote yes.

only prob is u cant name a hero durin's bane.
and i dont think u can mak the goblins a cav-less faction, that wuld put them at a huge disadvantage.

thats a good point, but mordor does hav cavalry now. ;)
mordor has better siege than goblins tho, attack trolls r the best siege in the game imo. and they trample perty darn well 2.

what cav does mordor have? i hope ur not counting trolls ;) gobbos have them too, so u cant use that as example. attack trolls will probly cease to be seperate units in 1.03, and will be more like back in bfme1

ugh... c'mon!! :blush: I can't stand that Rob still hasn't even seen the part about the idea of Goblins faction having double cavalry just like elves and Rohan, etc. !! (whether it be versatile cavalry and melee cavalry or making spider riders archer only and complementing them with melee riders) I mean seirously it makes perfect sense, if we wanna keep unique spider riders in whilst also implementing the classic Wolf Riders to gobs. Or else the faction would still look so much like an EA distortion!! ;)

Hm.. lol, i no this is extreme but perhaps i should pm rob about the idea? I mean i know it'd probably be a bit difficult, but using either the basic model for the Angmar rider or some of the Isengard rider would make it quite easy! (btw did the goblins ride the Wolves or Wargs or both??? :blink: <- cuz i mean the wolves of the north im 99% were greatly associated with gobs... but wargs? )

Lastly, i completely agree bout black orcs and Halff ttroll Swordsman... such a huge disappointment, when they first came out - and they're sitll not fixed! I'm not a 100% sure on this, but is the Rotwk DC patch/mod rid of this issue? If so, we should try to adapt their change, as I'm pretty confident in most of their conditioning of the game. :)

yes but haradrim were removed. he really added dark hounds? i thought they were just summon :/ anyway, modor defiantly does not need them and does fine with trolls ;)

as to sploinzt, wargs were just the biggest wolves. i like having spider riders toggle, but i think they should be completely replaced if wargs are added, and just have giant spiders instead.

if he does jsut add giant spiders, they cant get much, if any, bigger than spider riders imo. but i wuld personally prefer havin spider rider archers, and wolf/warg riders.

I don't like the spider riders and I'd like to see giant spiders replace them. They'd come in small hordes but have good trample and a stronger attack than spiderlings. I wouldn't mind seeing wolf riders added, but it wouldn't be very unique.
