That area around the fortress looks awesome... could you make it so that each building casts a small version of this texture around it? So that you always have your complete base covered with ground texture that fits your faction... that would rock :p

I mean that each building should create this ground texture around it like the fortress does in Sûl's screenshot, so that that texture always covers your entire base ;)

Oh I read it wrong... LOL.... I read "its" texture... Not "this" texture. Sorry. But yeah maybe, and I think someone already suggested that ;)

I like that idea...the textures would be altered, of course, but it really would give more of a base-like feel.

Just wondering, but did u reskin half-trolls, too?
If I were you and you were me I'd have a different face.

Yeah the ground thing is really cool... I'm trying to locate the textures to see if I can make one for each faction =)

Not yet, but the Half Trolls will have the same look as the Gobbos =)

The AI build an Isengard base, now with the new/old floor:

The Mordor Floor for comparison again:

Note: the OrcPit has gathered a few experience points on it's way to the next level. I wonder why? ;)

And the RohanCampFloor. Also suitable for elves:

This just rocks ^^ Buildings are apparently leveling up by training stuff again... great! But why are there still leveling up buttons?

Because some people might want the elite units ASAP I guess and personally I would keep the upgrade button so I hope that you aint removing it.

Nope, we ain't. They are gonna be really expensive though. ;) But a quick alternative if you have more cash than time.

Ain't this just SUPER nice!? :D

And just to let y'all know: I'm currently doing unique grounds/"floors" for each faction

Plan
------
- Mordor: Dark rock with small lava streams and cracks...
- Isengard: Rock with dirt and burn marks from destroyed woodland...
- Goblins: Pure rock...
- MotW: Gondor pavement...
- Elves: Lush grassland...
- Dwarves: Mixture of rock and pavement with cracks and small pieces of grass...

Yes... so do I.

I do however suggest removing the obvious spaces for buildings, (where the texture is coloured differently) because that may mess up the looks of a developed base...

No fuel left for the pilgrims

 rest assure of that. Those are from BFME1...

*done*

I'll get a screen shot, but they don't look that exciting just like a flat fourth of the texture like this... But they will look great in game (I hope)...

Here we go... New "floors" for each faction. I don't think I have to tell you which goes where :D

Sûl, how do you want me to name them and place them? When I know that I will do the Snow ones too... and the "l" ones...

Hey good

Just one thing, I don't like the brown part for the elven floor, here we should see even more vegetation, not a desertic area!

Anyway I'm in hurry to see them ingame!

one question though: will this area still be a round shape round the fortress? or will every building add a spot around it with the new floor? 'cause i'd find it cooler, if the floor would grow with the expansion of your base

@ Clone: "White spots"??

@ TDP: That won't show anyways... I just did them for fun. Those will all be under the Castle Keep (Fortress) The brown is supposed to be dirt from grassland that has been ripped open for contruction =p

@ Rindy: Yes if you go back in this thread, you'll see how thay will be applied in the game. The shape is round. I'm not sure if we're gonna ad them to each structure though. This has also been talked about before :D That might look weird when you build a lot everywhere. And they're bound to be scaled that way which would make them look different.
