Yeah, player. I do like the idea of heroes costing CPs, it seems to solve a bunch of problems. Of course the same system would have to be imposed on the AI to keep things fair, and it would motivate the AI to build big armies.

I don't think they should actually cost CP, you just have to have a certain amount to get them. That doesn't make sense, but let me explain it this way. It's like going to a store, but you can buy something without giving the store money. All you have to do is HAVE the money. (i.e. You can't train a hero until your army is a certain size, but the hero still costs no CP.) Am I making any sense at all? So your ability to buy heroes depends not on how many CPs you have left, but on how many you have used up.

That would probably need scripted command triggers. I don't see any other way of getting a hold of the 'used up' number or even using it as a condition.

Bah, could be ugly implementing. But i guess it is possible.

like dis idea. Makes heroes moreso commanders than one-man armies. If you can't implement it right away, at least make it that you can't get heroes until at least ten minutes into the game, maybe more.
If I were you and you were me I'd have a different face.

That sounds pretty good. And once you reach 1000 cp or so all heros are available(that way you can have all The Nine). But for Men leave some early game heros that are from Gondor, not just Rohan Heros. Rohan Heros are some of the weakest in the game In my opinion(except with Glorious Charge is used).

Wait: You guys are having this trouble with HUMAN players? Where are you going to play against people? I have only ever played against the AI.

Glorious Charge, a power of Theoden, let's your cavalry only take 10% of damage for some amount of time.
but I too never played against a HUMAN player! is that even possible?? O.o i would LOVE to do a match against you guys ^^ (AI is only entertaining, if you use two or more armies on "hard" against you... : / )

OnT: I have to admit, i like the system with the heroes as it is now. I, for my part, always build BIG armies (look at my screeenshots :p) BUT i also love to have the decision in my hand, when to recruit a hero. For example: One of my strategies with mordor is mass-producing farms in early game to reach about 6-9k Gold and buy 3 nazguls instantly for base defense and THEN recruit my big-ass army

Yep, it's possible! link :p You just have to coordinate with the person you want to play against somehow, since not many people are on the network.

Another couple of suggestions.

How about making heroes dies? If you made it that after you have bought your hero, if he dies thats it. No ability to re-summon them. Should make people a bit more wary to go solo with them. Also, make the heroes different, so that some are tanks, like gimli, eomer etc, and some are support heroes that add leadership, special buffs like theoden?

The search button is your friend.

Anyways, it's kinda hard to explain, but Junkie seems to get my idea. You can only build a hero after you have USED a number of command points, example you must have an army of 200 CP before you can buy Aragorn, but Aragorn isn't costing command points.
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP
