Still hate the helmets, always have and will. Great skin nonetheless ;)

Well, I can't (currently) model, so nothing I can do about the helmets...unfortunately ;) .

I really like that glorfindel, the colourscheme is perfect. Only criticism I'd say is that it looks a bit of a mesh of high res and low res textures. I know you said it was kit-bashed, which is fair enough, but it'd be improved loads by putting decent resolution material under the nice armor you've added.

Love the other elven units as well, your style looks really good on them.

Oh, and if you ask ^^ Ed ^^, he'll probably get rid of the shoulder spikes for you.

Well, kit-bashed from my own skins, which are all high res. I guess the texture I added to the cloth resulted in it looking a bit blurry and pixelated...it looks fine ingame, though.

Two more skins - the Rivendell Lancer and Noldor Warrior:

Posted Image Posted Image

Rivendell Lancer is a modified version of a skin I did for MME, Noldor Warrior is just a variant of the one earlier in this topic. Both for my personal mod of the game and anybody who wants them and asks nicely.

looks very good. Maybe you should redone these pixelated clothes and the cartoonish helmet, though I think that it will not be noticeable ingame.

PD: I did not see the other stuff you've made. They look so good!

*sigh*...The cloth isn't pixelated, but for some reason everyone thinks it is. I made it at the same res as the rest of the skin. It's probably just the texture I added...

As for the helmet...it's not EA's, but it is extremely similar. I suppose I should redo it sometime.

Redid the helmet based on pics in the FOTR EE Design Galleries. Also reduced the amount of texture on the cloth (didn't remove it entirely). Here's the new version:

I'll put the new helmet on the Rivendell Lancer, too.

The armour is great, but the cloth still looks blurry compared to it up that close. Nobody will notice in the game though :p

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

Well, after that comment, I went, read your tutorial on cloth, read some other stuff on the web, then redid all the fabric on the skin from scratch. Here is the result:

Posted Image

At the end of it all, I can only conclude that I will never understand cloth. Argh! Any specific suggestions on how to improve it would be most helpful. I think part of the problem may be that many of the cloth parts of the model have very stretched or distorted mapping.

Yeah you have to deal with stretching. The idea for models of this poly level is to draw the folds at the most common pose... so generally the combat idle. If they look properly folded then, they will look proper most of the time. It's generally the best option. That looks a factor of ten better though, gj.

Definitely better. One technique I use sometimes with cloth (think I stole this from one of nertea's tutorials) is to copy the selection to a new layer, run the texurizer filter on it and then take down the opacity so that it looks natural. Gives the cloth the nice weave look and you can adjust the scale to make a larger or smaller weave fabric. Also play about with layer styles on this layer and burn/dodge to bring up the highlights/lowlights.

I love these skins :p

I always use multiple layers with pretty much every bit of my skins - texture, shading, and adjustment layers like hue/saturation and brightness/contrast. That way, everything is flexible and adjustable.

So, I want your opinion; can cows swim? My sister says no and I don't believe it. I can't wait for more of your work!
