That's just EA's copy-protection in action. You probably moved/copied some of the original files. Only completely reeinstalling the original game will fix that. After that patch up the game to 1.06. Then install S.E.E.

I can't make it work. I spent one hour trying to install it. When I click the shortcut there's the SEE picture appearing but nothing is changed once in game.

Like explained, I extracted the everything in C:\Program Files\Electronic arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II

Then I copied the shortcut on my deskpot. Target: "C:\Program Files\Electronic arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod "C:\SEE" Start in: "C:\Program Files\Electronic arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II"

My computer is french but my game is english. I have the 1.06 patch and it's a legal copy of the game.

Can someone help me?

That's because the -mod "C\:SEE part needs to reflect where you extracted it to

I tried with "C:\Program Files\Electronic arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod "C:\Program Files\Electronic arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\SEE" and it's always game.data

I tried with "C:\Program Files\Electronic arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod SEE" and it doesn't work...

Ok I downloaded this mod this morning followed the new instructions and searched the forums for a solution to the game.dat problem. So far nothing has worked I have tried unzipping to C drive but I sitll get the game.dat error. This is my target and start in:

Target: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod "C:\SEE"

Start in: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II"

Is there something wrong with those? This mod looks great so any help would be much appreciated! :thumbsdownsmiley:

This thread has been tremendously helpful. I had the mod installed in application data, then I reinstalled the game and SEE would no longer work from application data. Reinstalled SEE and it still wouldn't work. I then installed SEE to C:\SEE and it works again.

Many thanks...

Options to fix this (and not saying any of these are not already done, just make sure...)

1. Get a legit product key
2. Patch the game completely
3. Insure Mod is installed correctly
4. Don't play with the Custom Heroes enabled. (at least IIRC this affected it)

If you need a *current* prod key, places like gamestop and walmart have the game for 9.99USD

Good luck

The only other thing I'd suggest before you go out and buy a whole new disc is to completely reinstall bfme2 and the mod. Sorry but that's all I can think of ;) i's what i had to do in order for my copy of SEE to work :p . Another thing about if you reinstall it: download a new copy of SEE, as that *might* help. Also make sure and follow the installation instructions that Naz made:

hope all of this helps
