uhm... the opening movie doesn't affect the starting time of the game... at all :good:
neither does content (aka, Evil men won't affect the startup time ;))

And all the dvd does it to launch the game.. there ain't really any files read from it :crazed: That's why the opening movies are installed to your computer...

Well, that's exactly it. If it's loading up the movies installed on my computer, it's adding to the load time, but what you might be saying is that it should take just as long as loading the original BFMEII movie.

Still, I believe the larger the files are we are adding to our computers, the longer it takes to load. How could it not?

New formations and top-down camera view all sound very good! Know what I'm going to do? I'm gonna reinstall TBFMEI to see what other great features we can add to the second game. How about naming your own battalions like in the campaign :good:?

Ahhh excellent! In addition to the merge option, is an ability to separate them back again.

I would really like to see different ships for the different factions:
MotW: Men built ships as well. Numenoreans once were prolific sailors, exploring all seas east of Numenor.
Mordor: can retain the current corsair ships
Elves: obviously they can retain the current elven vessels.
Dwarves: I can't see them liking water as much but I'm sure they've run across underground bodies of water that they had to quickly cross, necessitating the need to build rudimentary but sturdy vessels. I figure these ships would smaller, boxier, uglier, but really tough to take down. More like floating battlewagons than anything resembling a full warship.
Goblins: again, not known for seafaring. Their ships, like the rest of their tech, is based on scavenged scraps. More like ugly, scary looking canoes, no bigger than your average sailboat, which carry raiding parties that can climb aboard ships and wreck them.
Isengard: Saruman would build his own ships, not wanting to solicit the services of the Corsairs since he is aware of their stonger allegiance to Mordor. Isengard ships would be smaller, more appropriate to navigate the river Anduin.

Essentially, the naval powerhouses would be Men, Elves, and Mordor, but it would be nice if the other races had at least one ship type specific to their races that can be an addition to the regular complement.
Plus, to make better use of these ships, more naval maps would be great.

This is a mad suggestion but , take away these little walls and bring the walls from BFME1 .Thats nice walls :p For Elven faction , just take from Rivendell the britch over the waterfall. And for Dwarwes , like mountains , and for Goblins just take the wallls you have hand make them bigger . Mordor , take the existing Dol Guldor/Minas Morgul walls , and make bigger . Existing model from BFME1 for Rohan/Gondor .

I would love to see new ships, it was so boring and unrealistic for all the good sides to have the same ships as well as the bad. I doubt the dwarves would ever use elven ships. But I think that the dwarves should have Dale ships or some ally who fights their naval battles for them.
6% of teenagers today are a bunch of informed NERDS, if you are one of the 94% who actually reads cheap magazines and a couple of schoolbooks, or anything besides the paper, copy and paste this into your signature.

90% of teens today would die if Myspace had a system failure and was completely destroyed. If you are one of the 10% that would be laughing, copy and paste this into your signature.

Yeah I somewhat agree too...Dwarves dont really seem like a naval culture or in any way drawn to it. I think at most, they might make smaller river vessels for trade and exploration purposes. Having Dale ships is an option, but same problem: they are mostly a river and lake people....hmmmmm.

G'day Grubbo

The naval side of bfme2 does seem to be a little neglected by EA. They made a great effort in making the water look like water but the units used on the water in my oppinion do need to be spiffed up a bit

(i have tryed to spell everything right and make it as simple as possible)
1.Men should have king Elendil and prince isildur as heroes.
2.The elves should have gil alad as hero.
3.mordors mini faction harad and rhun should have Desert wildmen (they have afro black skin and have white clothes the clothes almost look like gandalfs. they are armed with bow and spears.
4.if you have any troops from kandh they should look little asian almost chineese and mongolian.
5.Men should have some last alliance Numenorians.(the last alliance men in the prologue of the fellowship of the ring movie)(there are some of the numenorians still alive in minas thirit they are blessed with elven magic so the live longer )
6.elves should have some last alliance Noldor Elves.(the last alliance elves in the prologue) ( these are elit troops and can switch to spear and sword and bow and they should be exspensive)

You can visit this site for some ideas about how the units or heroes should look like. This site is a trading card site but it is very helpful.

But NO to almost all of the above. If you wonder why, check the older posts in this topic and in the topics about the seperate factions.

Hey TT!

Yeah, I agree. I think because of the lack of focus on the naval combat, revising the art beyond animation and ship scale will be sadly lower priority. And also because naval combat just wasnt a focus in the books or movies, the SEE team probably won't feel compelled to prioritize it more.

But it would be nice....
