with some difficulty I have 2, eh dont mind the random crap still littered about; like random towers and trebs :p

I still have a bunch of work with that mountain but atleast the part that cascades down toward the city is mostly done, still need to finish texturing and do some more smoothing.

Nice. And I like how you have the beacon positioned now. Will it still be accesible?

yeah the beacons placement was a comprimise, in the film There are somewhat contradicting scenes:
first one shows the beacon far above one of the levels of the city appearinf to also be somwhere along the right side of the mountain.
http://i220.photobuc...lcsnap-7019.png
The next shot shows the beacon several hundred feet above and behind the top of the city.
http://i220.photobuc...lcsnap-9002.png

Since the first position was easier and much more likely thats where I chose to put it. and yes you can still capture it, I kept the flag on the ground of the second level at the foot of the mountain.

And now heres the left side of the city with mountain, still needs fine tuning though.

um the 2 shots of the beacon are from the movie, and the screens of the city are ingame, with an occasional shot of it in world builder. no paintshop here. :)

Heres 2 more shots of either side with the mountain behind going up up up.

Are these screen caps from WB or in game with the new cameras?

Oh for heavens sake. Stop being so damn suspicious and paranoid.. how on earth did you read sarcasm from those compliments? I give my criticism freely and openly. And I genuinely think this looks awsome.

It looks like EA promised us it'd look in all those early trailers. It's great. I have a thing about Minas Tirith and have always wanted to play a decent version of it. Or in this case, know that one exists, for some game, somewhere, even if I never get to play it.

Allright then... Forgive me
The reason for my "suspicion" was that you're rather known around some parts of T3A for being someone that doesn't like to give compliments unless it's reeeaaalllyyy called for, and thus there have been occasions when you've used sarcasm instead. I was just making sure this was not one of them... :)

Another reason is this:

Suberb

v/s

Suberb ^_^

Fist one could be read widely different than the other one :evgr:
But allright, never mind then... all good =p

Back on topic:
The thing I like most, well at least next to the scaling and adding of details and hightened movie resemblance, is the rework of that square mountain into something that looks more like a mountain ;)

Then that is really cool!

I didnt know if WB has a "full screen" view in it, so had to ask. Pretty stoked that is in game, really looking forward to it!

Im glad i could offer my humble services for this rework of the city, I am having some difficulties with the area trigger thats for revealing the city, any mappers out there want to give me a thought or idea please dont hesitate.

Heres the challenge, no matter where I move the waypoints for the trigger I get a half circle of reveal ingame, the thing is it doesnt line up with the city's directionit cuts out part of it and the area of reveal is along the left side of the map. Ill put up a screen with mini map so you can see.

here it is
http://i220.photobuc...m1983/uuggg.jpg

Right now I have it encompassing the whole map and it works just fine but I didnt want to do that, But I suppose if you were in the city you could see quite a long ways...

Exactly which script are you using?

Why don't you just reveal the whole map?

its using the in game trigger to reaveal minas tirith, I never edited it I just moved it, heres the weird part: on the EA map the waypoints for this trigger are just barely outside the city, but in game the whole map is revealed. when i tried to duplicate the placement of the way points on the modified map I get the semi-circle but cant ever get it to line up with the city. I have to drag the way points all the way out to the corners to get it to reveal the whole map, I guess I shouldnt complain it is working sorta.

@ Naz does your ingame minas tirith have this washed in golden light when looking at it from ground level?
because I think the area trigger does this also.

Washed in golden light? Isn't that the Eye of Sauron hitting the Gondor tower on lvl 2?
