New strings are looking great. theres an issue with word usage in one though. Mountain Giant expansion on the fortress.

Uses "Captivated" this word is used for being held by charm or charisma. It has no literal meaning to being restrained in one place. Something like "restrained and made subserviant" works better.

True... luckliy it's an EA leftover, hehe. I'll fix that tomorrow =) Strings have more impact on the general conception of the game, than one might think. Good strings makes it feel more professional somehow. I'm starting to like trimming them as many are quite lousy. Never really knew why EA didn't use punctuations for instance, so I started doing that, which makes is easier to piece together larger pieces of text into one chunk.

Tonight I added evil FX for fortress when upgrading. Also prolonged the footstep FX for balrog as it was hardly noticable before. I just love the Balrog. The new goblin voices for cavaly works great IMO btw. Good job! I'm sure there's more that can be polished the same way, but let's keep that in the audio topic =)

I've started to set balance now as well, as I go along with the strings, structure by structure... Just finished diversifying the balance for health & armor for fortress and its upgrades. Now there's a resonable difference between them all, compared to the fortress keep. Being thorough and methodical takes time, but the result is good, and a pinnacle of SEE.

Doctor Geel... any plans for the weekend... or am I lucky, lol? Any chance we could give a go at finishing the list (post #1, this topic) this weekend? <^_^

Sounds good... I recon we need like 6 hours or so to finish the list. That's a rough estimated time, given the xp I have from working with you. For me, it would take somewhere around 3 weeks maybe, if I even could do simple modeling, lol.

@NJM: Yes, I will give them random skins as it is part of the nature of SEE ;) I think I wrote somewhere in this thread, how I will set up the goblin cavalry. Now that you remind me, I think I will get back to that to take a break from strings/balance :-P

You know me, I pester very well..... hehehe. speaking of random skins something I really do think could bring some new cool. Would be random skins for trolls, stone giants and other monsters, Not necessarily different clothing and gear, but different skin textures and coloring. Something so that they arent all the same shade of grey and such. Could be cool.

I realize Im piling more shit onto the pile of shit. Im assuming skin textures arent a big deal. But im not the one doing the work so its easy for me to throw ideas, when Im not doing the work.

No worries, just keep them ideas coming. Most of them are very good indeed. Just look at what RB did for the Spell Book. Even if he fell out of the actual coding, he did bring a lot of great ideas which resultet in 9 quite unique Spell Books :-P I've been contemplating on random skins for Giants, but not for trolls. I guess that's cause we only saw one troll in the movies and he looked like this. Never really liked the "orange" skin of the giants anyways... think I'll go with a few shades of grey/brown-ish. I'll start with random skins for Giants and perhaps I'll go for trolls too... unless Namo or some lore guy would disaprove?

For Wargs and wolves... I will go for white/grey/black shades only since they're suppsed to be mountain-based, unlike the Isengard ones that are from the plains. They will have shades of beige/brown only.

I like the logic for the wolves. Did the sentry wargs get the grey/white/black shades? I couldnt remember if they did or not. Im thinking not.

With the trolls I wasnt thinking of going to an extreme, just using several shades of grey, from a lighter to darker variations. We do have the Cave Troll of moria - representing the films version, so we can atleast look into it as you have suggested.

The stone giants would definately look cooler with a new color palette. The orange is crap. But browns or greys would be sweet.

I will be looking into the textures if you don't mind. Recolours are easy. But I will check and see what types of skin texture I can make myself.

I'm quite sure I did most of the spellbook, besides Deteriorate and Earthquake the rest was all mine. :whathuh:

Yeah different skins for creatures would be nice.

Im gonna be the one to say this..... Having to routes two level up buildings should probably go.

Im only saying it based on the issues mentioned before. My understanding is that its difficult to get both to generate the right experience in order to properly level up and be able to recruit units. for instance...

I built the wolf den. recruited wolf packs unitl the building leveled up. But I still couldnt recruit the wolf riders. Even when I recruited to level 3 I still couldnt do either wolf riders or warg riders.
I built another wolf den, and went via the upgrade only and still couldnt build either of the level 2 or 3 units.
I built yet another, this time recruiting a few wolf packs then leveling, on level 2 I could build wolf riders. so I built a couple then upgraded and could build the warg riders.

This is soo messed up, maybe its a matter of math and Im being lazy about it, and not understanding. But if its as bad as this for all of the factions. wouldnt it behoove us to "can" one route to simplify it all?

I personally prefer experience for unit production, and upgrade for tech structures

Ive said my peace. :ermm:
