It is a bit weird when you think about it, we have a Spoiler topic for a set of movies based on a book we've all read probably multiple times, and there are actual spoilers.

a. Well, everyone haven't read the book, I'm sure.

b. There's more than just The Hobbit content, and I'm guessing even less have read the other stuff.

c. Jackson can't make a book-based movie without making something up.

d. Some of us look foward to seeing how it looks on the screen.

Something I noticed in the clip, there's also an Asian woman a couple seconds later.

The Hobbit- The Desolation of Smaug - You Have No Right To Enter That Mountain.mp4_snapshot_00.05_2013.12.05_01.13.46.jpg

It reminds of the early episodes of Xena (also shot in NZ) where there was this random black guy in every crowd scene.

It's probably the lady who wanted to be a Hobbit.

Well, we did know that there was going to be a love relationship between Kili and Tauriel, and that the Dwarves would attack the Dragon. I really like this cliff-hanger, in fact I would prefer if we saw the Dragon burning Laketown from the perspective of the Dwarves. - Also, where is the thrush?

The changes dont bother me surprisingly. Kind of expected. Im not to keen on repeat scenes though. Replicating Arwen and aragorn from fotr is lame. I do really like Smaug having molten gold dumped onto him, giving him his golden jeweled skin. It never sat well with me that all the stuff just got stuck to him in the book. The cliff hanger end seems quite appropriate.

EDIT: Thorin confronting Smaug and taunting him seems very in character for both film and book versins. I always had the impression Thorin was arrogant in the book, and even more so in the film. Seems very natural that he would concoct some sort of plan and try to deal directly with the dragon, rather than bilbo just finding out a secret and telling a bird.... Some people will not like the Thrush not being involved but I felt like it was awkwardly done in the book and sort of broke the believability of the story.

So I've seen the movie, one word, AWESOME! Though at first you have to get used to it, it's less childish (Legolas uses some sick moves that are just too awesome) as it's prequel and things get a lot faster, the Dwarves are at Beorns house and before you even notice they're already in Lake Town.

What I noticed was that the movies are at some degree more logical than the book, for example (MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD SO STOP IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ!!) The black arrows are not arrows that are used with normal bows, but rather with some kind of ballistae, I can image that such a huge dragon like Smaug wouldn't die from a small arrow, so I think they thought well about this (SPOILER END)

The Dol Guldur orcs are freaking badass! You only see them for a very short time sadly.

And Smaug, my friends, I just can't image a dragon that would look better than him!

To conclude this, I really recommend all of you here to watch the movie.

Is it really Bolg? There was some controversy on this.

Edit: Yes, it's been confirmed that it's Bolg... I really liked his design before :/
