That was terrible.

What are your takes on the separation of the Dwarves? Anyone support it? I'll have to await the last film to see how they entwine the company again, but I don't really like it currently. I don't see them rejoing the dwarves in the mountain before the Battle of the Five Armies, and thus I expect them to simply join the battle side by side with Tauriel and the elves and men, or the Iron Hills dwarves. Then joining Thorin's Company when they emerge from the mountain.

It does make you wonder if they are changing the way Kili dies, does he die from the poison arrow now?
In the book the brothers fell defending Thorin it would be weird to have Kili nearly die from the poison only to get better and die on the battlefield.

Nah I don't think he will die from the arrow, they did that to make the the love part between Tauriel and Kili bigger. That's actually the only thing I didn't like from the movie.
Also about the parting, I'm okay with it, as long as they rejoin Thorin and company again. Also Fili and Kili must die while defending Thorin .

Picture this: Kili recovers, they all join the company in the Battle of Five Armies. Random battle scenes. Bolg engages Fili, Kili, and Tauriel. Bolg manages to kill Fili, but is killed by Tauriel and Kili. Random battle scenes. Azog appears, challenges and mortally wounds a furious Thorin. As Azog smiles and is about to strike the final blow (villains always hesitate), this musical part plays, and a vengeful Kili charges Azog: Merry\Pippin style. Azog kills Kili, but as he is again set upon Thorin another dwarf appears between him and his prey: Dain Ironfoot. We get to see a badass kicking the hell out of Azog, and Azog dies. Thorin dies of his wounds.
All the while I would almost bet money on Bilbo taking part in the battle, but who knows, maybe Peter will actually let him rest. Tauriel is heartbroken over Kili, Legolas is heartbroken over her love for Kili, and Tauriel says to Legolas "Into exile, I must go. Failed, I have."
I actually started to write a sarcastic turn of events, but I rewrote it and more and more it turned into something I could actually enjoy and I ended up spending 45 minutes on this shit Hopefully it'll be better though.
Btw, given how Azog should be dead during the entire trilogy, isn't it kinda silly that Bolg isn't the main villain in the upcoming movie? It should've been a duel between Bolg and Azog (hey, how can a duel not happen?), but I can't really see that happening given how Azog's alive. And I don't see Azog die by any other hand other than Thorin's or Dain's.

Hey that's actually not bad, how about you become a scriptwriter ?
Right, what I actually think is that Tauriel will be killed someway, and Legolas will be so hearthbroken about it, that 60 years later he decides to become a member of the Fellowship of the Ring in LOTR! Your version of the battle between Thorin, Fili, Kili (and later Dain) VS Azog is awesome! I can't imagine a better way of how things will go, so good luck PJ.
Though I also have an idea of what could happen, I think Bolg will be the one who battles and kills Fili and Kili, while Azog battles Thorin. Thorin and Azog both mortally wound each other, and die.
I think Thorin will be the one who kills Azog, because his vengeance has been very dramatized in the movie, and he already failed two times (Azanulbizar, area outside Goblin Town) to kill him, so the third time should do it. But a plottwist with Dain still being the one who kills would be much better imo.
About Bolg who should've been the main villain, I was thinking the same. I was actually hoping that Azog would be killed in the second movie.

Beorn arrives along with the Eagles, when it looks like the battle is going crap for the good guys. Someone in the company is about to be killed, then Beorn comes grizzly style. Too bad he's in his bear form, else he would've looked down on the saved dwarves and said "I hate orcs even more."

The role Azog got now as they kept him alive, feels weird to me. I was hoping the escape from Thranduil would get more space and maybe use him MORE as an antagonist in this film. Been a long time since I read the book, but weren't they there for weeks? Lee Pace was great as Thranduil for me, also Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel even though I didn't like that the way that sidetrack took. Mirkwood sequense was really well done, but the big one, as good as the superb "riddles in the dark" scene in AUJ: Bilbos meeting with Smaug. That killing Smaug scheme, I have no memory of. That's a new thing they put in there, right?
I was thinking 3/5 direcly after the credits but I need to see it again when it comes out on BD.

Yeah, in the book Smaug went straight outside after his talk with Bilbo, smashed the hidden door so it collapsed, then went straight for Esgaroth. The dwarves didn't really have time to scheme. I also remember that they were in Mirkwood for weeks, atleast for days. I think it's pacing in the film is more a result of the "oh we have to be there before Durin's day" (or whatever it was), so they made everything the dwarves do have a timer that was just about to run out.

I'm pretty sure it might have been as much as like 3 months in dungeon and Bilbo wears the ring the entire time.
