Ok, So Seraphinexx and I tested for nearly 3 hours to find out exactly what causes issues with Windows 8 and online games And I think we've tested all possible scenarios.

 

If at any time in a gaming session 1 coop mission is played, be it won or lost, the very next game, be it Coop, Multiplayer Battle or any other game mode, or even Single Player (mission or skirmish) the game will crash and shut down. And it doesn't matter whether the coop is played at the beginning of the session, or somewhere in the middle.

 

Even if  after a coop, player 1 hosts a new game and some one else jumps in, Player 1 who had the coop, will crash and the other, new, player will remain locked in the loading screen.

However, Player 2 from that coop, will have the same issues if he tries to play a game (hosted himself or not) with some one else after the coop and the other new player will also remain stuck in the loading screen

 

The only way around this issue that is known to us, is that after 1 coop has been played, the game has to be completely shut down (launcher is excluded from this proces) and restarted. 

 

The crash message, was: The main executable for Mental Omega has stopped working, btw

For some reason i have messed up user interface, i cant create games, i have button "new", it the only button there.

but as soon as i press it, it turns to "join", and stays this way until i reenter this section,

Is it known bug? I saw other players host normaly, what your thoughts on this one, how to fix it?

Wow, so this is how that bug looks like, when you have set text size within Screen Resolution anything else except 100%...

Are you serius? That because of screen text resolution? 125% atm, i will try change it and tell how it affected it, btw other then that, had no crashes at all so far.

Yeah, it fixed the problem, now i have another problem, i have hard times reading stuff on my 1920x1200 screen, is there any other way to fix the problem and keep my 125% text?

How big that monitor is, may I ask? I got used to my 1680x1050 with 21,6"... that still seems quite okay from 40 cm... with glasses.

24", the text realy small, i can see it, without glasses, but you need to focus on it hard. So there no ways around to fix the problem keeping the 125%? Switching each time i play mental omega could be possible, only if it woudnt reset my desktop each time, turning it in mess too, just sorted it out again.

Found some bugs so far for 3.0

 

When playing infantry war as the latin confederation you cannot train Morales only Volkov and Chitzoki (same is true if you play as china)

 

in yuri mission Singularity: when you first start the mission you can see a quilin tank at the gate where you have Malvar and Virus start at, but as soon as "battle control online" begins the tank mysteriously disappears

 

even though if you infiltrate a barracks as psicorps, Libra does not have the veterancy nor can gain experience (same is true for Malvar)

 

in skrimish, the hailstorms cannot be targeted unless you force-fire it (the platform trucks, not the aircraft)

 

ill see if i find any more so far so good keep it up

Morales is not available in Infantry War. Libra does gain veterancy & experience, the insignia is invisible (for now) to disguise her among Libra Clones.

Malver is not trainable, for some reason. I don't remember why, maybe it is a bug.

I don't think anybody had a problem with targeting Hailstorms.

Well, Graion, I can assure you that I didn't have such a fucked up interface in the lobby. because my desktopsize is 100% it seems (I never changed anything on my laptop)

It's just hilariously annoying how consistant Seraphinexx and I were able to reproduce this under every scenario (except with Observer in the game after coop, we'll get to that later) as it turned out that even single player would be affected by this issue.

Seraphinexx has several debug and syrings from me from during those tests (not all) so he'll send, what he has, to you when he's available

Thanks to h34ds00t, who also uses win7, I tested 2 cases on my win7 pc, where Coop was the first match, and on neither cases, it crashed so it's Win8 related. 

I can't say anythig about Win8.1, but I will never get that

I saw that Reshap's missile...urrr energy ball has smoke when it's on yellow health. It's energy ball, it shouldn't has smoke, right?

The only other solution we know about is playing on Win 7 or older instead of Win 8, so i guess that answers your question. :p

Oh? Win 7 also has this issue? :huh: I don't think it can be fixed in any way other than changing to 100%.

I can confirm the issue where you change the icon size to 125% also happens on Win7. I just tested it out myself and only on LAN/VPN it seems to bug out.

The "new" button switches over to "join' once you click on it, but as soon as something happens in the lobby (ie a game starts) the button will switch back to "new"

Main Menu button works fine

 

And yes, switching to 100% Icon size seems like the most logical thing to do, no matter what screenresolution you have

Just saying, I was checking it on WinXP SP3. UI didnt changed after switching to big icons - its same like with small.
