You got Gap Generator to block Risen Railgun. Even if enemy uses Scout Raven + Risen Railgun, it's pretty where to know where exactly the Airfield is, especially when it's in the center of the shroud.

 

A player shouldn't have to do that just to block a cheap move, the Gap Generator is expensive and requires a lot of power, besides that, most bases tend to be spread out so a Gap Gen isn't going to cover the Barracks, War Factory & Airfield in most cases, which would require possibly 2 Gap Generators, and even more power.

 

If the enemy decides to use Scout Raven then it's pointless anyway. Railgun damage against Jets needs to be nerfed, no excuses.

3 Risen Railguns cost as much as 2 Gap Generators. In BR2 one upgraded Powerplant(+300 power) can power up one Gap Generator in extended range mode(-300 power). It's no hassle really.

Or I could put the time and money spent on something else that's actually going to help me win the battle against my opponent, rather than spending it on something that can easily be tweaked. The Risen Railgun was meant to be placed to defend an area, with it's repair ability and it's weapon, not to be used to kill Allied Jets, which is what most people exploit it for. It's unnecessary to have that capability, one simple move for an Epsilon player and one long process for an Allied player, it doesn't equate to each other and it's imbalanced.

Tweaking the damage for the Risen Railgun against Jets wouldn't be a big deal either. The only people who would defend the Risen Railgun damage against Jets nerf would be wankers who use it for that purpose.

On the topic about Risen Railguns, they do not kill Barracudas in one shot, so there is some leeway given. The "Your Base Is Under A Tack" message can also serve as a forewarning.

The Epsilon specializes in cheap tactics. So if you think that move is a dick move, you are right! It is quite as designed.

 

One way to deal with Fisen Failguns is to kill them on sight. 10 Allied siege cadres are quite efficient on the job. Of course you have to spend tons massing 10 of them, but considering your opponent has to spend to use the Railgun (and also get T3 for it), it kind of pays off.

 

EDIT: You probably will need less Siege Cadres. They have about 2 shots (assuming they are already there) before the Railgun has a chance.

And as loval said, Epsilon is about underhanded tactics. They forcibly mutate their own soldiers and have no moral qualms about cloning their own forces,utilize chemical weapons just to achieve their own chances of getting a win in battle.
