Hello,

Using windows 10 64-bit, I think I'm not only talking for myself here: can we set up some general installation process for the game (including programs that work or don't, patch fixers that can be used or not and a step by step guide?)

Anyway, this ^ is optional. My real question is: does this work on windows 10 and if so, to which things should I pay attention to avoid errors? I'd like to use daemon tools but if i want to install 4.46.1 it says: windows 10 doesn't support this app any longer.

Thanks in advance

You are welcme to do so, but the general process is written down in this very topic.

Yes it works on win10, but you might have to figure out which virtual drive software will work for you. Did you try alcohol52?

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

Read on different sites that alcohol 52 or any other should only be used when all other options fail. Is this false?

The other options would be daemon tools or WinCDEmu

- Daemon Tools 10.5 works for this?

- If not, how can I get 4.46.1 on win10

Yes. Alcohol 52% does the job perfectly and, unlike Daemon Tools, is stable.

I have following issue now:

My friend downloaded the game (BFME2) on your site, installed it with DaemonTools and he can enter the Multiplayer through T3A:Online. When he wants to join my skirmish matches an error message plops up saying that I have a different version than him. We both use the BFME2PatchSwitcher and our games run on Patch 1.08.

1. How can I fix this issue?

2. Could it be that since I own a CD version of the game that I bought years ago and he the version from your website that this is the problem?

Make sure that both of you use the official installer by EA for patch 1.06 before using any patch switcher software.

We both used the official patches from EA´s FTP and it didnt work so I decided we use the PatchSwitcher to be 100% sure that we have the same version

Some of you must be using a cracked game or installed a mod. Try to compare the installation directories if you find different files and such.

I installed the Edain mod for ROTW. My buddy has a fresh install from the T3A website.

My friends can join me in an online skirmish game now. Though one of them experiences issues when logging in to BFME2 when ingame. He managed to log in every 15 minutes by just plain trying again and again. When we are in a lobby the problem is that I cant start because the connection to them is failing.

Any suggestions how to fix that?

We didnt do the portforwarding but I think we wouldnt be able to log into the Online Servers in the first place if that was the issue.

How did you fix the previous problem?

To the connection issues: the portfoward is important for the match being played between the players. When you login to the server you only communicate between the server and your computer. For a match the game has to communicate between the players directly, that's what you might need the port forward for. It could be a firewall issue, too. Add the game to the firewalls exception list first. There should be a numbe4 of threads around the support forums that you can read.

One of them had to delete the Gamespy Adress in the options.ini and insert FirewallPortOverride = 16000. Then we had to install the patches all over again. And in the end we ended up all up in one lobby but we couldnt start the skirmish game because of the connectivity issues. Gonna try the portforward stuff tomorrow.

@ICT you say it is written in this very topic, but is it compatible for win10 ? And are there any importancies I should be aware of?

Also, is this the website linked the the website which released the HD edition of bfme2 yesterday?

Thanks for responding so quickly.

Yes. In fact, the HD edition for BFME2 has been designed & created by Revora admins. I'll link it to the BFME2 installation process.

Regarding the problems with win10: I'm not using it, so you will have to figure out the additional steps for win10 users all by yourself. I can add them to the general description if you come up with a good guide.

So I think I followed all the instructions.

When I bring up the unofficial launcher and click "start game" it closes and does absolutely nothing. I tried updating drivers and that's all done too. Perhaps I missed a step somewhere and so I'll probably try it from the beginning again tomorrow... unless someone has an answer as to what might cause that issue. This is for the Witch King expansion 2.02 unofficial launcher. I'm using Alcohol 120%, so maybe that's an issue???

 Thanks

Did you install patch 2.01 and afterwards 2.02 with the new game.dat already?

Check that, and if there are still problems with the unofficial launcher it's probably best to ask the developers themselves -> http://www.gamerepla...?showforum=3709

I'm not sure what the first question is asking. Am I supposed to update the new game.dat manually? I haven't done that, but I did go 2.01----> 2.02. I was confused about what the game.dat was for and whether people should have it. Let me try that. And thanks for being so helpful :)

 UPDATE:

The link to the game.dat isn't working.

 UPDATE #2:

I searched for the game.dat and found it on a different link.

Game loads now! That must have been my issue. Will let you know if anything else fails. You're a genius, and thanks!

Glad you found it, I've asked that the link on the external page gets fixed :)
