Your gamemd.exe is from MO 3.0, which is the cause of this crash. You will have to use an original gamemd.exe with MO 3.3.

Could I possibly ask if anyone has any input on my issue posted on page 5? I cant play anything, neither campaign nor skirmish and I am stil getting the exact same errors as I posted then.

Completely fresh install of the Origin version of Ultimate Edition Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge.

I copied the game files to a seperate folder in the root (C drive) of the computer in which I then installed the mod. Could that be what is causing issues?

Other than that I have tried every single thing suggested in the troubleshooting and nothing fixes it.

Now, also the game has started screwing about with my resolution on my monitor and I have to now spend 10 minutes fighting to get the resolution to stay as it should be. This issue ONLY happens after I try to play the mod.

The game can't find all files it needs. Please check whether ra2.mix really is in the MO folder.

The Ultimate Collection from Origin is of course patched to 1.006 and 1.001 already. No need to do that yourself.
I looks like gamemd.exe is set to run as admin or in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. In this case, set the client exe to run as admin. That might fix it.

Oh, okay. Thank you.

Yes, gamemd.exe is set to run as administrator and in Windows XP (Service Pack 3). It's also set in 16-bit (65536) color.

I ran MentalOmegaClient.exe as administrator and it still goes back to the main menu when i try to play any game.

Should I change the compatibility and settings? Should I turn off "Run this program as an administrator"?

Every time I try to launch the game launcher fails to load checkBoxClear.png and writes: this image format isn't supported.

client.log discovers this error as:

What should I do with this?

For those who have cracked version of gamemd.exe and cannot run the game, I think i have the solution for it

LINK REMOVED. DO NOT POST LINKS TO GAMEMD.EXE OF AN UNKNOWN ORIGIN.

p.s. just extract that gamemd.exe into your mental omega 3.3 file directory

Has anyone experienced game crashing while Wormqueen firing ? It might just be a coincidence though, however I wanted to ask anyway.

Keep getting game crash when playing.

Sometimes it shows up shortly after a game starts(both campaign and skirmish) and sometimes it takes a while to happen.

I may encounter it within 20 seconds and sometimes it takes 10+ minutes to happen.

What's weird is that I once tried starting a skirmish match with no A.Is on it. I kept afk for 20 minutes and then returned. The game was still working(the MCV was still there lol).

Then I started building things and soon I got the game crash message again.

Reinstalled TFD and copied the 7 required files to MO3.3 folder. Tried the gamemd.exe provided by one of the users here and it still didn't work.

I can't load any of the campaign missions, but the skirmish works fine.

Here's the Syringe.log. Also, the game seems to be creating .SAV files with the name of the mission I tried to play each time. It is supposed to be doing this?

Other than ra2.mix and the files mentioned in the install guide, are there any other files I need?

EDIT: Tried the game after moaking sure the ra2.mix file was in the MO folder, and now its just saying 'failed to initilize. Please reinstall'.

What a god damned trainwreck of a mod.

It still sounds like you didn't copy all files mentioned in the installation guide into the same folder as the MO files. Only use the original, unmodified files as base for MO, then it should work.
If you still have problems, use a folder outside of the Program Files folder (if your folder is in there).

When you're playing windowed mode with a full-screen-wide window, select borderless mode. Otherwise, the game will crash when you move your cursor to the bottom bar.

Hmmm, i did something.

gamemd.exe is still set to run as administrator and on Windows XP (Service Pack 3). It's still set in 16-bit (65536) color.

I deleted BINKW32.DLL and re-installed it.

It still exits the game.

When I checked syringe.log, this is what I get:

As of yesterday Mental Omega has been crashing on game launch (when launching a game from the launcher/set up). It didn't used to do this until recently which leaves me at a loss as to what the problem exactly is. From the Syringe log it appears to be some kind of problem with the cncnet.dll

Hi all. I recently downloaded this Mod after moving on from Twisted Insurrenction. I purchased a digital copy of The Ultimate Collection through Amazon and installed RA2/YR through Origin, which I read is already patched to the correct version of YR. I copied the required files from the RA2 folder to a MO folder, and extracted the MO zip into the same folder. Long story short, I feel like I've completed the download and isntall procedures correctly.

I have two issues related to gameplay/system performance in-game.

1. At home I have a desktop I built this summer. It has a 3.5GHz i5, 16GB of RAM, a 4GB GTX 980, and an 850 Pro SSD, and I've had no issues playing any other games on it. For example, I run CS GO on max settings at 200FPS.

This computer has issues running Mental Omega. I switched from High to Low detail, and changed from a full-screen view to a smaller windowed mode. The game seems to run fine if I don't move the mouse, but as soon as I scroll in any direction it slows down considerably.

2. I gave my Surface Pro 4 to my brother last year after I bought a new one. It has a 2.4GHz i5, 4GB of RAM, and an Intel HD 520 chip with approximately 1GB RAM. This laptop experiences the same performance issue as my desktop (drop in performance when moving the mouse), except the effect is even more pronounced. Also the game seems to run a tad slower altogether.

I read in the FAQ that the min. requirements for MO are "more than what is required for RA2". How much more are we talking? When I google RA2 sys. requirements I see a 266MHz Pentium, 64MB RAM, and 2MB VRAM. I would consider my SP4 to be "considerably better" than those requirements, and I assume it should be able to run MO on minimum settings. I should also mention, this laptop ran the Twisted Insurrection mod flawlessly (which, granted, runs off the Tiberian Sun engine, not the RA2 engine). We played that mod online together without issue, but it took us like 4 hours to finish the only game we've played on MO because anytime either of us moved our mouse it significantly dropped the speed of the game.

What is causing these issues and how can I fix them.

Thanks!
